Andriy Yarmolenko pokes fun at Cristiano Ronaldo as Ukraine ace asks Coca-Cola and Heineken for sponsorship deals

UKRAINE winger Andriy Yarmolenko jokingly mocked Cristiano Ronaldo by asking for Coca-Cola and Heineken to sponsor him.Ronaldo, 36, hit the headlines earlier this week in a pre-match press conference when he moved two Coca-Cola bottles out of shot and implored people to drink water instead.

Then in a similar fashion, Paul Pogba, who is a practicing Muslim and does not drink alcohol, moved a Heineken bottle out of shot during his post-match interview after France’s win over Germany.
Italy star Manuel Locatelli also removed a Coca-Cola bottle from his table before talking to the press.
But Yarmolenko took a more humorous approach when he addressed the media following Ukraine’s 2-1 victory against North Macedonia on Thursday as he moved the bottles INTO the camera shot.
The 31-year-old West Ham man said: “Can I do something? I saw Ronaldo doing this.
“I want to move the [Coca-Cola bottles] here and I want to move the beer here.
“Coke and Heineken, please get in touch.”
Yarmolenko’s wind-up comes just hours after Scotland international John McGinn also had a little joke about the drinks bottles story.
When he arrived for his press conference and saw there was only water on the table, he said with a wry smile: “Nae Coke?”

Ronaldo moved Coca-Cola bottles out of shot during his press conference earlier this week
Ronaldo’s removal of the Coca-Cola from his press conference had a dramatic impact on the company’s worth.
After the incident, Coke’s shares on the New York Stock Exchange fell by 1.6 per cent to wipe £2.83billion off their value.
But Uefa will not intervene to demand more respect for the money men.
A spokesman said: “Players are offered water, alongside Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, on arrival at our press conferences.
“Everyone is entitled to their drink preferences.”

But Russia boss Stanislav Cherchesov, 57, is not one to be moved by the former Manchester United forward’s actions.
And as he faced the media following his team’s 1-0 win over Finland in Saint Petersburg, the ex-goalkeeper actually enjoyed a bottle of the hugely-popular drink.
Cherchesov picked up one that had been placed next to his microphone, opened it and took several sips as he toasted Aleksei Miranchuk’s matchwinner.
Ronaldo – who scored two late goals in a 3-0 win against Hungary – had told the watching world to ‘Drink Water!’ as he sat down to speak to the media several days ago.
The Juventus forward removed two bottles of the fizzy drink from the desk in front of him during his pre-match press conference ahead of their opening game win.
    Coca-Cola’s share price promptly dropped from $56.10 (£39.80) to $55.22 (£39.19).
At one point during the day 1.6 per cent of the company’s value had been wiped off – meaning the market value of Coca-Cola went from $242bn to $238bn – a drop of $4bn (£2.84bn).
There was a late recovery, with the price back up to $55.44 (£39.38) at closing on Monday.

Uefa has since issued a statement in response to CR7’s actions, saying ‘everyone is entitled to their drink preferences’ and that everyone has different ‘tastes and needs’.
A spokesperson added: “Players are offered water, alongside Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, on arrival at our press conferences.”
Later on Tuesday, devout Muslim Paul Pogba removed a beer bottle during his press conference following France’s 1-0 win against Germany.
While Italy man-of-the-match Manuel Locatelli also moved his coke bottles after netting a double in the 3-0 win over Switzerland on Wednesday.
Ronaldo, 36, has a famously strict diet and avoids sugary foods, eating clean up to six times a day to maintain his incredible physique while he ages – although he has advertised junk food, including Coke, in the past.
While still at Real Madrid, the club doctor said he had the body of a player ten years younger and could continue playing at the top level into his 40s.
While the drinks company were trying to save face on Tuesday, Ronaldo was his typical self on the pitch against Hungary.

He expressed rage at team-mate Diogo Jota before playing a vital role in securing three points in the second half at the Ferenc Puskas Stadium.
Raphael Guerreiro gave Portugal the lead before a Ronaldo penalty and another close-range effort in injury time wrapped up an impressive 3-0 win.
The goals mean Ronaldo is now the record scorer in European Championship history with 11, two ahead of French legend Michel Platini.
He has now scored in five different European Championships, more than Poland have managed, taking his international record to 106 goals in 176 games.

Ronaldo, 36, then declared to those watching to ‘Drink water,’ which caused a £2.84billion drop in the company’s share price.
Speaking last year, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner revealed his disdain for Coke after saying his son Cristiano Jr sometimes consumes fizzy drinks.
He said: “We’ll see if my son will become a great footballer.
“Sometimes he drinks coke and eats crisps and it irritates me, he knows that.”
But supporters of Ronaldo have been left confused by his Coke snub after digging up pictures and old videos of him endorsing the brand.
And the former Manchester United hero has even worked with fast food giants KFC and McDonald’s in recent years.
His former Old Trafford team-mate Wayne Rooney previously declared Ronaldo would gorge on Big Macs in an attempt to gain weight during his time in England.
Commenting on Ronaldo’s Coke incident, boxer Josh Warrington quipped: “We’ve all contradicted ourselves before haven’t we…?”

Another messaged: “He’s a father now. He needs to be their role-model and eat/drink healthily.”
A third joked: “The Beatles song ‘Money’ comes to mind, I can’t think why though…”
Bookmakers Paddy Power tweeted: “Cristiano Ronaldo removed bottles of Coca-Cola during a #Euro2020 press conference, encouraging people to drink water instead.
“Fair play. Doesn’t mind big buckets of fried chicken, though.”
To which KFC jokingly replied by saying: “Yeah Paddy, but everyone knows Ronaldo’s decent on the wings.”

A spokesperson added: “Players are offered water, alongside Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, on arrival at our press conferences.”
