Enrique has already held talks with Chelsea, but Spurs could supposedly swoop in and they are set for discussions with him this week.
The Telegraph report that despite the advances, Tottenham chief Daniel Levy does not plan to hand Enrique the job just yet.
However, he is high up their shortlist of potential options along with ex-Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann.
Enrique is reportedly keen to coach in the Premier League.

Both Chelsea and Spurs are on the lookout for new gaffers for next season.
The Blues handed Frank Lampard the reigns until the end of the campaign following the axing of Graham Potter.

But it seems unlikely that he will get the job permanently as he is still waiting for his first win after suffering three losses in a row in.
The defeats have led to owner Todd Boehly bursting into the dressing room to rant at his players and label the current struggles as “embarrassing”.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have also slashed several names off their managerial shortlist.
As for Spurs, Cristian Stellini is at the helm and he’s similarly not expected to stay beyond the end of the season due to his close ties with sacked boss Antonio Conte.
The club are also understood to be keen on Feyenoord boss Arne Slot and Burnley manager Vincent Kompany.
Mauricio Pochettino has also been linked with a return but rumours suggest that Tottenham do not currently plan to approach the Argentine. More

Chelsea made ‘most expensive substitution in history’ in single change worth MORE than Brighton’s entire matchday squad

CHELSEA made the ‘most expensive substitution in history’ in a switch which cost more than Brighton’s entire matchday squad. The Blues lost to the Seagulls on Saturday in what was their fourth defeat in five.

The struggling Londoners are have slumped into the bottom half of the table and have only the Champions League left to play for.
In complete contrast, Brighton are upwardly mobile despite Chelsea taking their manager earlier this season – and having sacked him since.
The contrasts between the two clubs could not have been more evident when caretaker boss Frank Lampard turned to his bench with the game at 1-1.
In a quadruple change, Hakim Ziyech, Joao Felix, Reece James and Mateo Kovacic were all introduced while Enzo Fernandez, Christian Pulisic, Raheem Sterling and Wesley Fofana made way.
    READ MORE ON CHELSEA
As first reported by football finance boffin Kieran Maguire, the substitution may well work its way into the Premier League record books.
The 57th minute change saw £83.2m worth of talent coming on the pitch and a combined £281.5m walking off.
The swap saw a total of £374.7m of players either being subbed on or subbed off in the space of a minute
While that figure alone is staggering, it becomes even more extraordinary when Chelsea’s subs alone are compared to Brighton’s team.

The south coast club’s entire matchday squad amounted to just £83.1m, which is less than Fernandez’s transfer fee alone.
While the Argentine midfielder cost £107m and Wesley Fofana’s transfer came to £70m, Brighton’s biggest expenditure was the £20m fee for Adam Webster and the £15m it cost to acquire Pervis Estupinan.
Meanwhile, eight of Brighton’s matchday squad cost nothing or came through the youth academy, including Lewis Dunk and Solly March.
In contrast only James, Mason Mount and Trevoh Chalobah emerged from Chelsea’s academy from their matchday squad.
Fans were stunned as the cost of the Blues’ subs emerged.
One supporter wrote: “I don’t know whether that makes me want to laugh or cry.”
    While another simply said: “Unbelievable.”
Despite the quadruple swap, it was Brighton who went on to win the game thanks to a rocket from Julio Enciso. More

However, several other clubs including Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal have also expressed an interest in signing him so a bidding war could ensue.

Mac Allister’s father, Carlos, recently revealed that the midfielder will likely seek a move away at the end of the season.
He said: “Normally, the upcoming transfer market will find him playing for another club, we don’t know which one yet as the talks are starting.

“It’s very likely that Alexis will be playing in another team in the summer.”
Mac Allister joined Brighton from South American side Argentinos Juniors for £7million in 2019 on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

How Chelsea could line up under Vincent Kompany including Aymeric Laporte and Ilkay Gundogan

CHELSEA could look to snap up several Manchester City outcasts if Vincent Kompany arrives as manager. The Burnley boss has reportedly been added to Chelsea’s shortlist of targets, with the Blues said to be admirers of the work he has done at Turf Moor.

Kompany, 37, has guided the Clarets back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and is on course to achieve more than 100 points.
Chelsea would be a big step up for the inexperienced manager so he could call on a few old pals if he gets the gig.

Manchester City’s rotation policy means big names like Kyle Walker and Aymeric Laporte have found themselves out of the team in recent weeks.
Walker’s long-term future was cast into doubt earlier this month after Pep Guardiola admitted the right-back is struggling to adapt to new tactical demands.
    READ MORE ON CHELSEA
The City boss claims it might not be possible for Walker to change and with less than 18 months left on his contract the right-back could be available in the summer.
Laporte is another player who has been frozen out at the Etihad and limited to just eight Prem appearances this season, while Ilkay Gundogan’s contract expires in June.
Kompany played with both at City and would be able to count on their Prem experience at Stamford Bridge.
Another player Kompany knows he can rely on is left-back Ian Maatsen.

The Belgian should have money to spend if he joins
The 21-year-old has had a successful season on loan at Burnley and the positive for Chelsea is that he is already contracted to the club.
He is already familiar with Kompany’s style of play and would add pace on the left flank – his return of four goals and six assists shows the Dutchman is capable of going forward too.
Chelsea could even make a bold move for Joao Cancelo who joined Bayern Munich on loan in January after falling out with Guardiola.
Kompany also has several contacts from his years playing with the Belgian national team.
Romelu Lukaku, another Chelsea player currently out on loan, could be welcomed back into the set-up.
His compatriot Yannick Carrasco could add versatility and has been linked to Chelsea in the past, as has Borussia Dortmund right-back and Belgium international Thomas Meunier.
Finally, Kompany could look to bolster his midfield with the capture of Romeo Lavia.
The Southampton star has caught the eye since his summer move from City, but Chelsea are believed to be leading the race for the Belgian amid interest from Manchester United. More

The Seagulls are also monitoring the possibility of securing a permanent move for the England U21 international in the summer.
Chelsea are hoping to tie Colwill down to a long-term deal and do not want to sell the young defender.
He is under contract until 2025 – with the option of an additional 12 months if he plays a certain number of games.

Marc Cucurella, Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta can also fill in at centre-half.
And the Blues are set to miss out on European football next season, meaning Colwill’s opportunities could be limited at Stamford Bridge.

Owner Todd Boehly has spent £600million across the last two transfer windows.
Colwill has made 15 appearances for Brighton this season, keeping six clean sheets.
As well as his loan spell with the South Coast side, he also turned heads with his displays on loan at Huddersfield during their 2021/22 Championship campaign.
He made 32 appearances for The Terriers, helping them reach the play-off final before they were beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest.
Colwill wore the No26 shirt while at Huddersfield, leading many Chelsea fans to label him the “new John Terry”. More
