Arsenal’s WSL aces to play at least six of their home games at the Emirates next season

JONAS EIDEVALL is looking forward to seeing the Gunners’ women’s side face their rivals at the Emirates in a number of fixtures next term.The club’s WSL stars will play six of their matches at the home of their Premier League counterparts in the 2022/23 season.

And three of the duels are set to be European encounters should the title runners-up make it past round two of the Champions League qualifiers.
Gunners chief Eidevall, 39, said: “The backing we received both at Meadow Park and Emirates Stadium (last season) was unbelievable.
“Whether you sit in the stands or are playing in the match, we are all part of one team – one family.
“That’s what makes this club so special. It’s wonderful news that we will be returning to Emirates Stadium for more games next year.”

ARSENAL have sold Konstantinos Mavropanos to Stuttgart following a £3million deal with the Bundesliga outfit.Mavropanos has been on loan at the German club for the last two years and has impressed manager Pellegrino Matarazzo so much that the higher-ups decided to sign him permanently.

This marks the Gunners’ first transfer of the summer as the centre-back signed a contract that ties him down with his new club until 2025.
The defender joined Arsenal from Pas Giannina in 2018 but failed to convince manager Mikel Arteta and was sent out on loan to Nurnberg before joining Stuttgart.
The Greece international has promised to continue giving his best at the Mercedes-Benz Arena and paid tribute to the trust and affection he received from everyone at the club.

According to Sky, four first team players were missing from Wednesday’s training session, including Takehiro Tomiyasu, Emile Smith-Rowe, Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White.
Tomiyasu was forced off midway through Monday’s game with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
White and Gabriel have also been struggling with hamstring issues recently.

What I do know is that we have a young manager who loves of club who can get behind, homegrown first teamers, that other team covet, on long-tern deals, and at stadium that has been rocking and united more so this season than in many campaigns.

Aaron Ramsdale was a bag of nerves early doors, and that rippled around the rest of the team, although at least the keeper did recover well with several saves.
The Gunners could – and should – have gone in behind at the break.

He suffered an awful night before going off injured and it’s no wonder that Arsenal are looking at bringing in Aaron Hickey for defensive reinforcement.
But whether or not the Scottish international is the answer to Arteta’s prayers remains to be seen.
