Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce to have warm-up fights before October showdown as part of bumper summer of boxing

HEAVYWEIGHT duo Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce will both have warm-up fights in the coming weeks ahead of their eagerly-anticipated bout.
The coronavirus crisis has twice pushed back a scheduled meeting between the pair, with a new date of October 24 at the 02 Arena now pencilled in.

It’s a boost for fight fans as their domestic dust-up will not be held behind-closed-doors.
But as they prepare for their encounter, the duo will each be involved in separate contests held at the BT Sport studios in Stratford in the coming weeks.
Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions have announced a number of bills across the summer starting off with the super-bantamweight bout between Brad Foster and James Beech Jr this Friday.
Commonwealth champion Joyce, 34, will then be in action the following week, where he will face Germany’s Michael Wallisch.

Wallisch – who boasts 20 wins from 23 fights – hasn’t fought since September where he was stopped by Joyce’s former foe at the 2016 Olympics Tony Yoka.
    BRITISH BEEF
British title holder Dubois meanwhile challenges undefeated two-time Olympian Erik Pfeifer on August 29 to conclude BT’s summer schedule.
Commenting on the news, Warren said: “I’m delighted to be able to give fans more clarity as to what they can expect from the huge Summer of boxing on BT Sport.
“Everyone at Queensberry and BT have worked hard to get these shows up and running and I believe this schedule is second-to-none in the boxing world right now.

“Daniel and Joe returning is obviously huge, headline news and scheduling these fights reflect our growing confidence that Daniel and Joe will be able to finally square off on October 24th.
“I spoke to both teams and they both said that as it looks like we’re going to finally do this in October, they’d like tune-up fights first. Thankfully, BT liked the idea and here we are.
