And United are six points off the drop zone in TENTH ahead of former manager Jose Mourinho’s Old Trafford return on Wednesday night with Tottenham.

But boss Solskjaer said: “For me, I can just go on the evidence of the game days and supporters I’ve met.

“There’s not many that say I’ve got to do something different. They can see what we’re trying to do.

“They know there’s a lot of work being done behind the scenes to put a culture in the team. We just need results.”

Solskjaer is adamant the club are sticking to a long-term plan to create a team built on youth and academy products.

Solskjaer, who is without injured midfielders Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba, said: “Players are never undroppable.

“Players are also playing for their place in the long term.”

Spurs travel north on Wednesday for a 7.30pm kick-off with fifth-place up for grabs.
