Arsenal and Liverpool fight for teenage RB Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi as Barcelona fail with £13m transfer bid


ARSENAL and Liverpool are reportedly set to clash in a transfer pursuit for 17-year-old RB Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi.

Salzburg have produced the likes of Sadio Mane and Naby Keita in recent seasons, and are currently battling to hold onto in-demand striker Erling Braut Haaland.

But further down the Salzburg system 17-year-old Adeyemi, who plays for feeder club FC Liefering, has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal and Liverpool.

According to Transfermarkt, the Premier League pair are keeping tabs on the forward, who has five goals in 11 games in the Austrian second league.

Adeyemi began his career at Bayern Munich and Unterhaching in his native Germany making the switch to to Austria with Salzburg.

The versatile attacker has played for Germany Under-17s and looks set to make his 18s debut soon.

It is claimed La Liga champions Barcelona made the first move for the teen star, but failed in a £13million bid.

Adeyemi attracted attention from the Spanish giants after two goals and one assist in three UEFA Youth League games this term.

But Borussia Dortmund are said to also be monitoring the 17-year-old.

The Bundesliga side are looking for potential replacements for winger Jadon Sancho, who has been linked with Manchester United among other Champions League teams.
