REAL MADRID are closing in on beating rivals Barcelona to the signing of teenage star Victor Munoz, according to reports.
The 17-year-old has been on the radar of both Spanish giants as they chase him for a deal in the coming months.
And while he has been strongly linked to the Nou Camp, AS believe he is on his way to Madrid to become a Real player.
Munoz has previous with Barcelona as he was at their La Masia academy before leaving because he did not feel satisfied there.
The winger now plays for CF Damm, a team based in the Catalonia region of Spain which is dedicated to bringing through young players.
Barca’s financial offer to Munoz is said to be more lucrative than Real’s proposition.
However, Madrid’s promise to enroll him in La Fábrica de Valdebebas – the youth academy at Real’s training complex – is thought to have turned his head.
If he does sign for the 13-time European champions, he would begin playing for the Juvenil A team in the Honor Division.
Munoz has largely featured for Damm on the right wing but is also able to play on the left-hand side.
Both Levante and Espanyol are also said to be monitoring the teenager, but the likelihood of him turning down Barca and Real is slim.

As well as Munoz, Barca are also keeping their eye on a number of other young talents as they continue to try and overhaul their squad.
Among those names are the pair of Nicolas Siri and Gonzalo Sosa.
Real are currently two points behind Barcelona in La Liga and three off table toppers Atletico Madrid with nine games remaining.
