PEP GUARDIOLA is reportedly ready to allow right-back Joao Cancelo to leave Manchester City after an uninspiring first season at the Etihad.
The Portuguese defender joined the Citizens last summer from Juventus in a swap deal for Danilo, with the club also forking out £27.6million to bring him to England.
Joao Cancelo could leave the Etihad in the summer in exchange for Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo
But he has failed to assert himself as a regular starter. The ex-Inter Milan loanee has featured just 11 times in the Premier League with Kyle Walker preferred instead.
And now Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo claim that Cancelo, 25, could be returning back to LaLiga just two years after leaving Valencia.
They state that Cancelo could yet again be used in a swap deal, only this time with Barcelona in exchange for his international team-mate Nelson Semedo.
But the Citizens face competition to secure his services with Paris Saint-Germain understood to be fans of the defender, along with Juve and Inter.
Cancelo still has five years left on his deal at the Etihad, while Semedo is contracted at the Nou Camp until 2022.
The former Benfica star, 26, has chipped in with five assists in 29 games in all competitions this campaign.
And Mundo Deportivo have insisted that it is likely he will leave at the end of the season after three successful years in Spain where he has won back-to-back league titles.
They claim that the Blaugrana cannot offer him an improved deal to remain in Catalonia due to their money struggles as a result of the coronavirus crisis.
