Tyson Fury ready to tell head trainer to ‘sod you’ and ignore instructions for mouthwatering Usyk fight, says dad John

JOHN FURY reckons his son Tyson can beat Oleksandr Usyk with his own off-the-cuff tactics.

Fury Snr is convinced that Tyson has what it takes to beat the Ukrainian heavyweight without the help of his trainer SugarHill Steward.

The 59-year-old has been critical of Fury’s long-term coach after the Brit’s disappointing performance against Francis Ngannou last year and labelled Steward’s instructions as “pathetic”.

And now he has claimed that Tyson will tell Steward to “sod off” if his tactics aren’t working ahead of his fight with Usyk.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: “The best team and the best man will win on the night.

“Can I compare SugarHill and with what I’m seeing with the rest of the team, with Usyk? From the last showing, definitely not.

“Everyone is entitled to the benefit of the doubt, but if they get it wrong, it’s a bad place to be wrong, the Heavyweight undisputed Championship of the World. It’s a bad place for an error.

“But Tyson’s that good, his balls are that big, and he’ll just say, ‘sod you’, just get me a drink and let me do my own thing.

“Like he did in the last three rounds with Ngannou. The instructions he was getting last time were pathetic.”

John Fury didn’t stop there either as he called on Steward’s team to improve on their coaching from Fury’s last bout.

He explained: “They’ve got to give it a 100 per cent improvement. Anything less, well, they’ve dropped the ball, haven’t they?

“Whether they can or whether they can’t, I don’t know. What I heard last time, it was all about this 12-week camp… all they need to do is start impressing me.”

John Fury has previously called on Tyson to sack SugarHill while likening him to “Judas”.

The countdown to Fury’s fight is well and truly on as boxing fans anticipate an all-timer between the two heavyweight titans.
