How Man Utd could line up vs Leeds with Cavani OUT but Varane and Bailly available with Ronaldo and Maguire starting

MANCHESTER UNITED are set to welcome Raphael Varane back for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Leeds.

But the Red Devils will still be without Edinson Cavani, leaving Ralf Rangnick short on attacking options.

How United could line up against Leeds

United are looking for back-to-back wins after a 2-0 midweek triumph over Brighton.

Rangnick is sure to stick with a 4-2-3-1 system in his tactical battle against Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa.

And barring a set-back in the warm-up, star man David De Gea is guaranteed to be in goal.

Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw are also set to retain their full-back spots.

And Varane is likely to partner captain Harry Maguire after recovering from illness.

In midfield, Paul Pogba will be hoping to return alongside Scott McTominay.

And there could also be a recall for Marcus Rashford in the front four alongside Jadon Sancho, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, Rangnick has a few other players desperate for a chance to impress.

Eric Bailly is fully fit and raring to go, while Alex Telles will feel he deserves a shot at left-back.

Elsewhere, Fred and Anthony Elanga both put in a decent shift against Brighton and will be hoping to stay in the starting XI.

Meanwhile, United skipper Maguire has rubbished reports he is locked in a power struggle with veteran ace Ronaldo.

And boss Rangnick added: “I must say this is absolute nonsense.

“I have never spoken with any player about a possible change of captaincy, Harry was fully aware of that, so was Cristiano and the other players. This has never been an issue for me.
