THIBAUT COURTOIS and Olivier Giroud appeared to share a joke at Timo Werner’s expense during their Champions League encounter.
The German striker squandered a chance to give Chelsea an early lead against Paris Saint-Germain after missing another sitter.
Christian Pulisic headed it perfectly into Werner’s path on the edge of the six-yard box.
With the net expected to ripple, the striker saw his strike saved by the legs of the former Chelsea stopper.
Goal-shy Werner couldn’t believe he’d missed as he held his head in his hands.
Luckily for him, Pulisic spared his blushes by opening the scoring five minutes later before Karim Benzema’s superb equaliser.
At half time, a tunnel camera picked up the moment Courtois and Giroud spoke about Werner’s glaring miss.
Giroud says: “The save on Timo! Pfff…’
Courtois then moved his right foot and responded: “All I did was put my foot like this.”
The pair then start smiling implying the ease of saving Werner’s effort.
Werner was also singled out by no other than the wife of team-mate Thiago Silva.
Taking to Instagram, she said during the contest: “This is karma, guys.
“Every team I go to there is a striker who keeps missing goals… this Werner, what is his name?”
The video was deleted soon after with reports she also called Werner a ‘worm’ in Portuguese.
His miss came just days another spurning yet another opportunity at the London Stadium against West Ham at the weekend.
Werner, 25, has bagged just six league goals in 31 Prem appearances this season.
