MANCHESTER UNITED have big competition from RB Leipzig in the race to sign Erling Haaland, the Germans confirming their offer to the striker.
A stunning breakout season with fellow Red Bull owned club Salzburg has earned the Norwegian huge plaudits and plenty of admirers.

The Red Devils welcomed Haaland, 19, to their training ground earlier in the season with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer travelling to Austria for talks only last week.
However they are not alone with Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal also giving the striker a tour of their facilities and Leipzig now admitting to making him an offer.
Sporting director Markus Krosche told Kicker: “We have shown what we can offer him and which part he could play in our team.
“It’s now up to him.”
I think it went quite well.
Leipzig’s Nagelsmann on Haaland talks
Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann also discussed his encounter with Haaland, who has hit a mega 28 goals in 22 matches this season.
The German said: “I tried to explain to him in good English what my idea of football is. I think it went quite well.
“You can say relatively little after such conversations, because they are usually very one-sided. You say a lot as a coach while the agent and the player mostly listen.”
With the ball now in Haaland’s court, United boss Solskjaer has already claimed that the player knows his next destination.
The Norwegian, who managed Haaland for two years at Molde, stated last week: “He knows what he wants to do and what he’s going to do.”
Agent Mino Raiola and former Prem midfielder Alf-Inge Haaland, Erling’s father, are advising his next move with the fee touted to reach around £80m.
United are expected to hand Solskjaer a £250million transfer war chest to rebuild the squad – with the attack a main priority.
