KSI vacates his Misfits Boxing title belt in cryptic social media post… as he reveals ‘other plans in the pipeline’

KSI announced he has vacated his Misfits Boxing title belt to pursue “other plans in the pipeline”. The YouTuber-turned boxer launched Misfits in 2022 as a platform for celebrity-style crossover bouts.

In his comeback after three years out, he beat rapper Swarmz and Mexican boxer Luis Pinenda to win the cruiserweight title.
He defended it with a knockout over gamer Faze Temper and against nightclub tycoon and professional boxer Joe Fournier.
It was also on the line the night he lost to Tommy Fury – but he never actually conceded the title.
Now it appears KSI will not defend it again either after taking to social media to reveal it has been vacated.

He posted: “I have enjoyed the honour of being The Misfits Cruiserweight Champion immensely.
“I have other plans in the pipeline and it wouldn’t be fair for me to hold that title any longer so…
“I am relinquishing the belt and a new champion will be crowned on the next Survivor Tag!”
KSI, 30, took time away from boxing following defeat to Fury, 24.

But he recently confirmed he WILL return this year, eyeing a summer fight date.
Although a rematch with Fury looks unlikely after their bitter fallout following the controversial fight ending.
And a grudge match against Jake Paul, 27, also faces the KO amid a breakdown in talks between the camps.

Floyd Mayweather wanted to sign me but I turned it down… now I’m with Jake Paul and on course for a world title shot

ASHTON SYLVE once looked destined to sign for Floyd Mayweather – but he turned down the boxing hero for Jake Paul. Sylve was a national amateur standout with over 110 bouts and ten titles to his name.
Ashton Sylve met Floyd Mayweather as a kid but turned down the legend’s offer to promote him
Sylve is now signed to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions
And growing up, he was a regular in Mayweather’s famed Las Vegas boxing club, where he caught the eye of the American icon.
Sylve, 20, told SunSport: “Since I was young he was always like, ‘When you’re ready. We’re here whenever you’re ready.’
“Whenever I saw him he would say, ‘Whenever you’re ready, whenever you’re ready.’”
Sylve left behind the amateurs to turn professional in 2020 at the age of just 16.

The hot prospect had a host of top promoters lining up to secure his signature but dad and mentor Ivan insisted they held out.
And that meant painfully rebuffing approaches from idol Mayweather.
But, as fate would have it, Paul and his business partner Nakisa Bidarian were ready to make an offer that could not be refused.
Sylve revealed: “It was honestly real hard.

“I was at a point where I was not going to listen to my dad, it was kind of taking too long and I was like five or six fights in.
“I was ready to be on the big stage and I thought Floyd or whoever else would have put me on that spotlight.
“But everything happens for a reason and that’s when Jake came around I think two fights later and Nakisa came to one of my fights.
“I had an amazing knockout and we kind of went from there. If I had gone with someone else, I don’t think I’d be in this position.”
Sylve signed for YouTuber-turned boxer Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions in April 2022 and has not looked back since.
He said: “My team and my dad definitely told me to take my time.
“When I had certain offers come my way I definitely wanted to jump at them and get ahead of myself just because of the name of who the promoter was.
“But as soon as MVP went our way – and we went through pretty much every big promotion company – we took our time with them too and heard what they had for us and it wasn’t quite fitting for us.
“But as soon as MVP came, Jake gave us his idea and offer, we met Jake and everything seemed to align.”

Sylve returns on Friday against Estivan Falcao for the WBC junior world title, offering the winner a chance to shoot up the rankings for a future shot at the belt.
He said: “That’s why we’re at this point right now, fighting for the title because the development of my career and the team behind me has pushed me and put me in the right position.”

Paul, 27, suffered defeat for the first time last February, losing a split-decision to Tommy Fury, 24.
But he bounced back with a point victory over ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38, and first-round KO of August, 35.
The American held a press conference to announce his return but his opponent was not present.

Tommy Fury’s dad John says KSI must APOLOGISE to have any chance of rematch and provides update on talks with Jake Paul

JOHN FURY warned KSI must APOLOGISE in order for him to consider a rematch with his son Tommy – amid fight talks with Jake Paul. Last year Tommy beat the pair of YouTubers-turned boxers.

He first edged past Paul via split-decision last February in Saudi Arabia before moving onto a mega-fight with KSI.
But the build-up was marred in bitterness and KSI even spat gum at John during an open workout.
Son Tommy went onto win a controversial six-round decision but still tension remains between the two camps.
John told the Daily Mail, via Free Bets: “We’re not interested in KSI. Not for a trillion dollars.

“Unless he comes up with an apology and decides to be a man, we want no part of it.
“He lost to Tommy on his own show. I know he’s aged about 10 or 15 years because of it. People like him, their egos are so big they just can’t move on from it.
“That will be his downfall. He needs to look in the mirror and take some lessons off real men on how to be one. You can’t disrespect people think you’re it.
“At the end of the day, up until the spitting job, up until the BS, he was doing a great job. Him and Logan Paul.

“But, at the end of the day, Pauls are a different class to him. They’re not spitting at people. They are having verbal disagreements. That’s all part of the game.
“Spitting at people is a reptiles job. That’s something the scum of the earth does.
“I am no posh person, I am probably one step off the bottom but I don’t spit at people. I don’t disrespect people in that way.
“It becomes hatred and no one can do their job properly then.”
KSI, 30, announced he would take time out from boxing following his first loss but has since revealed he will fight again this year.
Meanwhile Fury, 24, has undergone hand surgery for an injury in which he said has hampered him for four years.
Paul, 27, bounced back from his defeat with two wins and returns on March 2 on the undercard of Amanda Serrano’s Puerto Rico homecoming.
But he revealed talks with the Fury family are back underway.
And John added: “We spoke to them about six weeks ago and we’ve not heard anything since.

He now returns on March 7 in Paris against Baissangour Chamsoudinov.
But should Chamsoudinov fail to make weight, Doumbe, 31, wants Paul, 27, who is also signed to the PFL, on standby as a backup replacement.
He said on The MMA Hour: “Maybe I’m gonna fight, I don’t know. I’m gonna choose maybe Jake Paul! Maybe Jake Paul.
“But I mean Jake Paul is the guy. If I fight against Jake Paul, I think the Stade de France would be full in an hour.”

“But I like when I’m fit. I don’t like to do the weight cut.” More

Tommy Fury’s dad John CONFIRMS talks for Jake Paul rematch and responds to rumours of ‘heated’ row with YouTube star

JOHN FURY has CONFIRMED talks with Jake Paul over a rematch for his son Tommy – and responded to rumours of a “heated” row. Paul last February suffered the first defeat of his career by losing a split-decision to Fury in Saudi Arabia.

He has bounced back with two wins and revealed negotiations are going on behind the scenes for a rematch.
But Paul claimed the Furys were only interested in raising the payday figure and questioned if they were purposely pricing themselves out.
John has now hit back to deny that the phone call was a heated one but insisted his son should stand to make more the second time around.
He told the Daily Mail, via Free Bets: “I’m at a loss to know what that heated conversation was. I thought we spoke and had a nice, intelligent conversation.

“So, I don’t know where all this c**p is coming from. There was never a heated conversation, nothing like that.
“I thought it went quite well so I don’t understand what people are having their tuppence about because that just wasn’t the case.
“Both sides were very respectful. I knew what we want and they know what they want so we just have to meet in the middle somewhere. I’m sure that can be achieved.
“You’re going to hear all that second guessing, second hand information and people putting their ten pence in.

“It’s all clickbait rubbish. We had a meeting and it went very well for our first chat.
“I think the Pauls are doing an excellent job at what they do, but so are we. Don’t forget, we are the victors here. We are the ones in charge.
“We are in the driving seat. They got the best of it last time, so it’s up to me as Tommy’s representative and father, that we get the best of it this time. I’m sure we will.”
Paul beat ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38, on points and knocked out American boxer Andre August, 35, since suffering his first defeat.
The 27-year-old now returns on March 2 on the undercard of Amanda Serrano’s Puerto Rico homecoming with an opponent yet to be announced.
Fury, 24, has also not returned since beating Paul’s arch YouTube rival KSI, 30, via controversial decision in October.
And talks have since cooled with Paul, as John said: “We spoke to them about six weeks ago and we’ve not heard anything since.
“I’m not sure what is going on behind the scenes. But, the buck stops with me. Right here.
“People can say what they want and do what they want, but the bottom line is that it has to go through me and Tommy.”

Jake Paul faces losing over ONE STONE to secure KSI fight as Brit YouTuber’s manager refuses to budge on contract terms

JAKE PAUL faces losing over ONE STONE in weight if he is to meet KSI’s demands for a blockbuster grudge match. The pair of YouTube superstars-turned boxers have rivalled each other throughout their careers but are yet to settle it in the ring.

The Briton comes in a lot lighterCredit: Reuters
And the latest sticking point in talks between the two camps is a disagreement in weight.
Paul has campaigned from 185lb but his last bout – a knockout over boxer Andre August – was at the 200lb limit
Whereas KSI was last at a 183lb catchweight in defeat to Tommy Fury but he insists his best fighting weight is 175lb at light-heavyweight.
So it leaves his manager Mams Taylor adamant the pair must meet in the middle and box at a mutually unsatisfying 180lb – over a stone from Paul’s weight.
    READ MORE IN BOXING
Taylor told SunSport: “The reality is, I think they both have so much to lose it has to be fair and it has to be uncomfortable.
“KSI is not comfortable at 180, Jake is not comfortable at 180 either.
“It’s like the art of negotiating something in meditation, you both walk away not feeling great but not feeling bad about the deal you’ve done.
“And if they’re both prepared to do that then I think we’ll have a fight.”

Before KSI’s boxing comeback in the summer of 2022, Paul offered to fight him on short notice at 180lb.
But the American’s team have also pointed out that KSI in 2019 fought at 196lb the night he beat Paul’s brother Logan on points.
So Taylor is left to admit the row over size could prevent the mega-fight from happening.
He said: “With Jake, he’s said numerous times that he’ll fight at 180 and KSI’s most comfortable fight weight thus far is 175.
“If KSI was a full-time pro boxer his optimum performance would be at 168lb, because he doesn’t have as big a frame and Jake is a lot bigger and getting a lot bigger.
“So I don’t know if that fight ever happens just because of the weight issues.”
KSI was forced to concede to Fury’s demands of a 183lb catchweight before he lost a controversial decision in October.
So Taylor refuses to make the same mistake twice and have his star man fight outside his best weight.

He said: “I don’t think that’s a good idea and I wasn’t in favour of that for Tommy, to be honest.
“KSI just said, ‘Look, I don’t care anymore, I don’t want to wait anymore give him that advantage.’
“He gave him really almost all the advantages and I’m very proud of the way KSI performed.
“He had a tactic in mind and a tactic he developed with his team to negate Tommy’s jab and he did and I think most people think he did enough to win.
“It’s unfortunate and we move. It was a great show in the end and we’re proud of that.”
Another roadblock is the breakdown in relationship between Taylor and Paul’s business partner Nakisa Bidarian.
So the former music mogul is ready to hand over talks with Bidarian to his Misfists Boxing right hand man, promoter Kalle Sauerland.
Taylor said: “I’m going to defer negotiations to Kalle if that ever happens again.

“I really want that fight to happen, I think the people want it to happen and I certainly don’t want to be a catalyst for a reason for it not.
“I think Nakisa and I are like oil and water when it comes to business. So sometimes you just can’t get along with people.”
