Jake Paul reveals HOUR long phone call with Tommy Fury for rematch but fears rival is already making ‘excuses’

JAKE PAUL revealed he spent an hour on the phone negotiating a rematch with Tommy Fury but fears his rival is already making “excuses”. The celebrity boxing pair finally ended two years of feuding in February with Fury emerging a split-decision winner.

But Paul has bounced back with two wins since, on points against ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38, and a knockout of boxer Andre August, 36.
And he revealed after his uppercut KO of August that talks with Fury are back underway – but money could prove an obstacle.
Paul, 26, said on his podcast: “We had calls with him, had an hour long call with him and the whole entire thing was just kind of this thing, ‘Oh, more money, more money, more money.’
“When he’s not getting more money by fighting anybody else and we have an amazing offer out there for him and it’s kind of just these excuses after excuses.

“Obviously Tommy already beat me, so people will be like, ‘Oh, he already beat you so why wouldn’t he do it again?’
“But he sees my skillset advancing, knows he had me at my worst. Two to make it true. I’m here, I’m ready.”
Fury, 24, went on to beat Paul’s arch rival KSI, 30, in his next bout.
And the build-up proved to also be a bitter one, with KSI even spitting on Fury’s dad and coach John.

It leaves John – in charge of his son’s career – refusing to entertain a rematch with KSI.
He told SecondsOut, via Freebets: “If Jake Paul wants to box Tommy next that wouldn’t be a problem.
“If anybody out there wants to box Tommy that’s carrying weight, let’s talk.
“The only man that’s not welcome at the table is not a man, is him. What do you call him? KSI. He is not welcome, not now, not ever. He is done.
“We don’t want to do business with a spitter. Too much bad blood, he’s an ignorant man and there’s no more business, not even for $1trillion with him.”

John Fury hints at son Tommy’s next fight as Jake Paul reveals talks but KSI rematch is ruled out even for $1TRILLION

JOHN FURY has given his blessing for son Tommy to rematch Jake Paul – but not even $1TRILLION could convince him to fight KSI again. Tommy leaves 2023 after beating YouTube’s two biggest boxing stars, firstly edging past Paul on a split-decision in Saudi Arabia in February.

And he followed it up with a controversial points win over KSI in October following a bitter build up.
KSI spat at his dad John during an open workout which leaves Tommy’s dad ruling out a rematch between the two.
He told SecondsOut, via Freebets: “If Jake Paul wants to box Tommy next that wouldn’t be a problem.
“If anybody out there wants to box Tommy that’s carrying weight, let’s talk.

KSI, 30, lost the first stage of his appeal against Fury, 24, who still stands as a unanimous decision victor.
Meanwhile Paul, 26, has returned with two wins since his first boxing loss, beating ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38, and boxer Andre August, 35.

And he revealed afterwards that talks to rematch Fury have taken place but he accused the ex-Love Islander of demanding too much money.

KSI takes brutal swipe at Tommy Fury by claiming IShowSpeed landed MORE punches against him and aims dig at Jake Paul

KSI took aim at both Tommy Fury and Jake Paul after his charity sparring match with IShowSpeed. The YouTube sensation streamed the spar with Speed at the same time Paul was making his boxing return against Andre August.
KSI speaking out after his spar with Speed
And after three comical rounds – where Speed was dropped and sent through the ropes – KSI said enough was enough.
He gracefully handed Speed victory after pulling himself out, leaving the streamer in tears.
KSI spoke out after the spar to suggest more people viewed it than Paul’s fight with August.
And he claimed Speed landed more punches against him than the 39 Fury managed in October.

KSI told Fred Talks Fighting: “I think it was definitely the event of the night.
“I think there was a lot of boxing fights happening at around the same time.
“But I’m pretty sure there were more people were watching ours than anyone else’s.
“But yeah man, tough opponent. I think he hit me more than most my opponents, I think he hit me more than Tommy Fury.”

KSI, 30, was beaten for the first time by Fury, 24, but the controversial points decision is still being appealed.
Meanwhile Paul, 26, knocked out August, 35, with a right uppercut in round one and responded to KSI’s spar with Speed afterwards.
He said: “I don’t care it’s just two different things, right? He’s chasing views as a 30-year-old man and I’m chasing legacy and belts.
“All kudos to him, I hope he makes his wildest dreams come true.”

Five next fights for Jake Paul after stunning Andre August KO with announcement set for NEXT WEEK

JAKE PAUL is already looking to line up his next fight after brutally knocking out Andre August. The YouTuber-turned boxer closed the show inside the first round with a massive right uppercut.

And he was immediately probed on when his next fight could be.
To which Paul said: “We’ve got an announcement coming next week.”
So here, SunSport takes a look at who could be next for the self-proclaimed Problem Child.
    Tommy Fury
Fury, 24, so far remains the only man to have beaten Paul, 26, thanks to his split-decision win in Saudi Arabia in February.

And it sets the pair up perfectly for a rematch, something Paul has always insisted he will deliver.
He said before his fight with August: “It’s going to happen. I’m coming for you Tommy. I’m going to knock him out.”

    KSI
It’s the mother of all grudge matches in the YouTube boxing world but so far it has failed to materialise.
In the lead up to Paul’s win over August their opposing teams were going back and forth over terms for the grudge bout.

So far it looks as though an agreed upon weight is holding up an agreement but there is still a score to be settled.

    Viddal Riley
Riley, 26, shot to fame as the coach to KSI and AnEsonGib, who Paul knocked out in his pro debut.
But he is also a former amateur champion and current 10-0 English cruiserweight title holder.
And with Paul open to facing established boxers, when asked about Riley he said: “For sure that can happen, it would be interesting.”

    Idris Virgo
Virgo – a former Love Islander – had 12 pro wins before he took the influencer boxing route with KSI’s Misfits Boxing.
His popularity also increased after becoming a training partner of KSI’s.
So if Paul wants to fight another boxer, who has a profile and connection to KSI, a good wildcard option would be Virgo, 30.

    The 7-1 mystery man
August, 35, was not actually due to fight Paul and only filled in when their initial opponent suffered US visa issues.

Paul’s business partner Nakisa Bidarian said in October: “Unfortunately, the opponent, which was a 7-1 boxer, has not been able to obtain a visa to come to the US.”
With an announcement already planned, could the initial opponent be lined up for Paul’s next fight. More

IShowSpeed floored several times and left in tears after charity sparring match with KSI

ISHOWSPEED was left in tears after being floored by KSI in their charity sparring match. The two were scheduled for six rounds to help raise money for the Anthony Walker Foundation.
    KSI dropped IShowSpeed several times
KSI even knocked Speed into the ropes
Speed was pulled out after six rounds
And it was purposely staged at the exact same time as Jake Paul’s fight with Andre August, which he won in the first round.
KSI has boxed eight times, most recently in October when he lost for the first time, against Tommy Fury.
Whereas Speed – a streamer known for his obsession with Cristiano Ronaldo – has hardly laced up a pair of gloves.
    And it showed.

Speed ran around the ring for three rounds while falling to the floor whenever KSI landed a half meaningful body shot.
The social media star was utterly exhausted during the half way point when KSI decided to call it off.
He said: “It takes a big man to get in the ring with me. Many have tried, many have failed and according to judges, someone was victorious.”
But an emotional Speed said: “It’s not over yet. Get back in the ring.”

KSI responded: “I’m proud of you, you did a huge thing. We had over 100,000 watching our spar. I want you to take this and let it fuel you.
“You know what? With your tenacity I’m going to tap out. You win.”
Speed was not happy with the sympathy vote and demanded the full six rounds be completed.
He then burst into tears and stormed out of the gym to end the night on a sour note.

And a perfectly-timed uppercut left August unable to beat the count and Paul handed the most legitimate win of his career.
He said: “I said first round knockout all week, I manifested this, this is the power of manifestation and I said I need to bring back the old Problem Child.
“I’ve been too nice with these people, letting them go into the later rounds. I set up my shot and he went night, night.
“I told him he was going to need a Celcius to wake up.”

From the opening bell, Paul, 26, took the centre of the ring and got behind his jab.
He was doubling up his left hand and looking for the right behind it but August – who had 12 prior bouts – covered up well.
The little-known American, 36, also landed a couple of solid overhand rights himself but Paul took them well.
And then as the round was closing out, Paul set August up with a range-finding jab before firing over the finishing uppercut.

Immediately the social media sensation walked over to the camera with a smirk and put his finger to his mouth.
He said: “Just silencing the critics, everyone who had something to say about me, ‘Oh, he can’t do this, he can’t sell, he’s not big, what is he doing fighting this guy? Fighting that guy,’ shut the f*** up.”
Paul teased that he has an announcement for his next fight lined up next week as he looks to face more seasoned boxers.
He was beaten by Tommy Fury, 24, by split-decision in Saudi Arabia but bounced back in August to beat ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38.
But Paul said on his next fight: “More boxing prospects, more experience, more time in the ring under the bright lights staying active.
“And if the money fights want to come, I’ve got smoke for them too but right now I’m focussed on being one of the best in the world and creating one of the greatest sports stories in the history of sports.

I had to join gangs in Texas to keep me safe but now I am fighting Jake Paul and I want to finish him

RELATIVE UNKNOWN Andre August is set for the fight of his life tonight against YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul.August, 35, is just the second professional boxer that Paul has faced – but he’s more journeyman than a glamour tie for Paul to square up against.

August has a 10-1 professional record and has won five of those by knockouts which makes him the most experienced fighter Paul has faced.
There is a mystique surrounding August, given most of his fights have been small-scale affairs so there is not actually much footage of him in action.
Despite the absence of that, his story to becoming a boxer is illuminating and he told The Daily Star all about it.
In the interview, he accredits boxing with saving his life from a world of gangs and violence.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
Talking about his experiences growing up to The Daily Star, he said: “Just extremely in the hood man, it was in the hood. It was either beat down or get laid down. You got to join us or get rolled over.
“So I had to join the gangs, you know what I’m saying? And be down with whatever area outside of town I was in and I did that. It was just for me to stay safe as well.
“Because at first I was trying to go against the grain. But yeah, that’s how it happened. [If you didn’t] You was jumped. You couldn’t trust nobody on the other side of town. So, I had to join.”
August’s home of Beaumont is one of the most dangerous areas in America and according to CrimeGrade.org, the city ranks in the lowest percentile in terms of safety.

That means it is more dangerous than 99% of cities in America.
But, August says that boxing showed him a path to drag himself of bad situations.
He said: “It played a major role in my life. Even just keeping me away from the streets. It also brought me away from my hometown.
“It’s kind of bittersweet, but I’m away from my hometown. So I’m out here living a good life, living an ok life with the boxing world.
“I still have my other things I do besides boxing. I still work and things like that. So, I’m just a man is trying to live his dream, man. I got my kids. Just being a dad, man.”
There is a huge gap on his boxing CV between 2019 and 2023 where August did not fight sue to the pandemic and he said those days were rough: “The number one thing is the pandemic.
“The pandemic was the one that started everything. Ever since the first year and the second year the funds were getting low.
“I had to take care of my family and be a man of the house so I had to work.”
August is grateful for the exposure fighting Paul will bringCredit: Getty
To make ends mate he worked for American insurance company State Farm, before returning to achieve victory over Brandon Martin in August.
August’s background couldn’t really be any more different from the privileged start to life for the Paul brothers – who have only been making more money since going into boxing.

But August knows the opportunity he has if he is to beat Paul, and said: “As far as me, it’s been a long time coming. So I’m here you know. I did what I did in the past as far as my amateur career.
I did have a deep career as well in my pro career. I did it with a lot of self discipline, that’s just me being out here doing what I need to do, just like right now.” More

Like many internet sensations, KSI has used his social media fame as an opportunity to enter the world of boxing.

    Logan Paul

KSI once again emerged victorious with a result of a split decision, with two judges scoring the contest in favour of the British boxer.
    Swarmz and Luis Pineda
In 2022, KSI returned to the ring once more to face rapper Swarmz.

    FaZe Temperrr
The next boxing bout saw KSI take to the ring against Brazilian YouTuber FaZe Temperrr.
However, he was originally scheduled to face Conor McGregor’s training partner Dillon Danis.
This bout turned out to be KSI’s quickest victory to date – with the contest stopping in the first round following a brutal knockout.
    Joe Fournier
Following a number of wins, KSI faced professional boxer Joe Fournier, who was also undefeated, in May 2023 at the Wembley Arena in London.
During the second round, the YouTuber-turned boxer threw a right hook that missed, causing his elbow to strike Fournier, knocking him unconscious.
KSI was awarded the KO win on the night, but after the bout concluded, Fournier appealed the decision.
Later that month, the Professional Boxing Association officially overturned the win and it was ruled as a no contest.
    Tommy Fury
The YouTuber suffered a unanimous decision defeat to the Love Island star in their grudge match.
The bout took place at Manchester Arena in Manchester, on October 14, 2023.
Internet sensation KSI fumed with the result of the contest, so much so that he launched an appeal to the Professional Boxing Association.
But the PBA have insisted there were NO grounds to overturn the result of the Misfits melee.
KSI was consumed with rage after slipping to his first defeat in the influencer boxing scene and claimed he was “robbed” of a victory.”
He said: “Obviously [Tommy Fury’s] a pro boxer.
