He now returns on March 7 in Paris against Baissangour Chamsoudinov.
But should Chamsoudinov fail to make weight, Doumbe, 31, wants Paul, 27, who is also signed to the PFL, on standby as a backup replacement.
He said on The MMA Hour: “Maybe I’m gonna fight, I don’t know. I’m gonna choose maybe Jake Paul! Maybe Jake Paul.
“But I mean Jake Paul is the guy. If I fight against Jake Paul, I think the Stade de France would be full in an hour.”

The Stade de France – where France play their football – has a capacity of 80,000 fans.
And Doumbe is one of the nation’s biggest stars, with Kylian Mbappe among the PSG players to turn out for his last fight.
Paul meanwhile is 8-1 in boxing and returns on March 2 in Puerto Rico – but he is also signed to the PFL and set to make his MMA debut in 2024.

Doumbe meanwhile fights at the 170lb welterweight limit of 12st 1lb – meaning there is a massive TWO STONE weight difference between them.
But Doumbe said: “He’s bigger than me, for sure. Same height but bigger than me.
“But I like when I’m fit. I don’t like to do the weight cut.” More

No opponent has yet been announced but Paul has pledged to donate his purse to his charity foundation Boxing Bullies.
He said: “The mission keeps on getting bigger and we’re gonna continue to renovate more gyms.
“I’m actually going to be donating my entire fight purse to Boxing Bullies to renovate more gyms in Puerto Rico.”
His business partner Nakisa Bidarian: “I just wanna repeat that right. He’s donating his entire purse to renovate gyms in Puerto Rico.”

Paul – who lives in a £13million mansion in Puerto Rico – in 2021 launched his charity in a bid to introduce boxing to a younger generation.
And he revealed the next gym he renovates will be dedicated to boxing legend and seven-division champ Serrano.
He said: “I don’t know if we can sneak preview that one of the gyms is going to be an Amanda Serrano gym.”
Paul, 27, last February suffered the first defeat of his boxing career, losing a split-decision to Tommy Fury, 24, in Saudi Arabia.

But he bounced back with a points victory over ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38, and a first-round knockout against Andre August.
August, 35, was the first boxer that Paul has defeated on his record and came into the bout in December with a 10-1-1 record.
But his next opponent is said to have a better ring resume with title belts to his name.
Paul said: “He’s a professional boxer with an even better record that Andre August and there will be an announcement coming soon.
“But again, it’s another step up in competition, he’s won regional titles etc.
“Announcement will be coming soon but another step up in competition and continuing to challenge myself March 2nd.”
Bidarian added that Paul’s next opponent will be confirmed and announced on January 30.

Tommy Fury’s dad John CONFIRMS talks for Jake Paul rematch and responds to rumours of ‘heated’ row with YouTube star

JOHN FURY has CONFIRMED talks with Jake Paul over a rematch for his son Tommy – and responded to rumours of a “heated” row. Paul last February suffered the first defeat of his career by losing a split-decision to Fury in Saudi Arabia.

He has bounced back with two wins and revealed negotiations are going on behind the scenes for a rematch.
But Paul claimed the Furys were only interested in raising the payday figure and questioned if they were purposely pricing themselves out.
John has now hit back to deny that the phone call was a heated one but insisted his son should stand to make more the second time around.
He told the Daily Mail, via Free Bets: “I’m at a loss to know what that heated conversation was. I thought we spoke and had a nice, intelligent conversation.

“So, I don’t know where all this c**p is coming from. There was never a heated conversation, nothing like that.
“I thought it went quite well so I don’t understand what people are having their tuppence about because that just wasn’t the case.
“Both sides were very respectful. I knew what we want and they know what they want so we just have to meet in the middle somewhere. I’m sure that can be achieved.
“You’re going to hear all that second guessing, second hand information and people putting their ten pence in.

“It’s all clickbait rubbish. We had a meeting and it went very well for our first chat.
“I think the Pauls are doing an excellent job at what they do, but so are we. Don’t forget, we are the victors here. We are the ones in charge.
“We are in the driving seat. They got the best of it last time, so it’s up to me as Tommy’s representative and father, that we get the best of it this time. I’m sure we will.”
Paul beat ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38, on points and knocked out American boxer Andre August, 35, since suffering his first defeat.
The 27-year-old now returns on March 2 on the undercard of Amanda Serrano’s Puerto Rico homecoming with an opponent yet to be announced.
Fury, 24, has also not returned since beating Paul’s arch YouTube rival KSI, 30, via controversial decision in October.
And talks have since cooled with Paul, as John said: “We spoke to them about six weeks ago and we’ve not heard anything since.
“I’m not sure what is going on behind the scenes. But, the buck stops with me. Right here.
“People can say what they want and do what they want, but the bottom line is that it has to go through me and Tommy.”

Jake Paul faces losing over ONE STONE to secure KSI fight as Brit YouTuber’s manager refuses to budge on contract terms

JAKE PAUL faces losing over ONE STONE in weight if he is to meet KSI’s demands for a blockbuster grudge match. The pair of YouTube superstars-turned boxers have rivalled each other throughout their careers but are yet to settle it in the ring.

The Briton comes in a lot lighterCredit: Reuters
And the latest sticking point in talks between the two camps is a disagreement in weight.
Paul has campaigned from 185lb but his last bout – a knockout over boxer Andre August – was at the 200lb limit
Whereas KSI was last at a 183lb catchweight in defeat to Tommy Fury but he insists his best fighting weight is 175lb at light-heavyweight.
So it leaves his manager Mams Taylor adamant the pair must meet in the middle and box at a mutually unsatisfying 180lb – over a stone from Paul’s weight.
    READ MORE IN BOXING
Taylor told SunSport: “The reality is, I think they both have so much to lose it has to be fair and it has to be uncomfortable.
“KSI is not comfortable at 180, Jake is not comfortable at 180 either.
“It’s like the art of negotiating something in meditation, you both walk away not feeling great but not feeling bad about the deal you’ve done.
“And if they’re both prepared to do that then I think we’ll have a fight.”

Before KSI’s boxing comeback in the summer of 2022, Paul offered to fight him on short notice at 180lb.
But the American’s team have also pointed out that KSI in 2019 fought at 196lb the night he beat Paul’s brother Logan on points.
So Taylor is left to admit the row over size could prevent the mega-fight from happening.
He said: “With Jake, he’s said numerous times that he’ll fight at 180 and KSI’s most comfortable fight weight thus far is 175.
“If KSI was a full-time pro boxer his optimum performance would be at 168lb, because he doesn’t have as big a frame and Jake is a lot bigger and getting a lot bigger.
“So I don’t know if that fight ever happens just because of the weight issues.”
KSI was forced to concede to Fury’s demands of a 183lb catchweight before he lost a controversial decision in October.
So Taylor refuses to make the same mistake twice and have his star man fight outside his best weight.

He said: “I don’t think that’s a good idea and I wasn’t in favour of that for Tommy, to be honest.
“KSI just said, ‘Look, I don’t care anymore, I don’t want to wait anymore give him that advantage.’
“He gave him really almost all the advantages and I’m very proud of the way KSI performed.
“He had a tactic in mind and a tactic he developed with his team to negate Tommy’s jab and he did and I think most people think he did enough to win.
“It’s unfortunate and we move. It was a great show in the end and we’re proud of that.”
Another roadblock is the breakdown in relationship between Taylor and Paul’s business partner Nakisa Bidarian.
So the former music mogul is ready to hand over talks with Bidarian to his Misfists Boxing right hand man, promoter Kalle Sauerland.
Taylor said: “I’m going to defer negotiations to Kalle if that ever happens again.

“I really want that fight to happen, I think the people want it to happen and I certainly don’t want to be a catalyst for a reason for it not.
“I think Nakisa and I are like oil and water when it comes to business. So sometimes you just can’t get along with people.”

KSI’s boxing promoter to reach out to Tommy Fury’s team as blockbuster rematch ‘absolutely make sense’

KSI’s boxing promoter plans talks with Tommy Fury’s dad John – as a mega-money rematch remains on the cards. Fury in October escaped the Manchester Arena with a controversial points win over six rounds to hand KSI his first ever defeat.

But the disputed result only made the feud between the pair uglier.
Fury claimed he “HATES” his boxing rival while KSI admitted he would happily never see the ex-Love Island star in a big fight again.
The man in the middle of negotiations last year was Kalle Sauerland, who promotes KSI’s Misfits Boxing but has also worked with the Furys.
So Sauerland is plotting a catch up with John amid speculation of a rematch between son Tommy, 24, and KSI, 30.
    READ MORE IN BOXING
He told SunSport: “I’ll give John a call in the next couple of weeks and see what he’s doing.
“We talks to the Furys a lot. We’ve promoted Roman Fury, dealt with John on that, get on great with Tyson as well.
“They’re a boxing family so we talk. We’re enemies when it comes to the fight but we got the deal done when a lot of people in this space said, ‘You’ll never get a deal done.'”
Promoters boasted of selling 1.3million pay-per-views at £20 a pop for the grudge match, which at those estimations raked in over £25MILLION.

So Sauerland – who formerly promoted heavyweight legend Wladimir Klitschko – would be licking his lips at a rerun.
But even the veteran promoter is still getting to grips with the new age of influencer boxing which is full of more ego than sense.
On the potential of a rematch, Sauerland said: “That’s how I would think, because that’s the traditional path. I can’t read this space.
“From a traditional sense, the rematch would absolutely make sense. But is it going to happen in this space? We’ll see.”
Following his first loss, KSI took time away from boxing having also failed in an appeal of the result.

But he confirmed he will return to the ring this year and is in no shortage of blockbuster opponents to welcome him back.
Sauerland said: “This year there’s some big ones out there, whether it’s Jake Paul, Conor McGregor, another Tommy fight.
“There’s huge fights out there and JJ knows this space better than anyone.
“He’s the godfather of this space, building up a multi, multimillion fanbase outside of boxing.
“That’s the audience and that’s what’s going to guide him in. It’s different to traditional where you look at the different world title routes.

The super-fit reality TV legend has been teasing a switch to boxing in a series of cryptic social media posts.
But now SunSport can confirm Essex has been in talks with KSI’s manager and co-founder of Misfits Boxing, Mams Taylor.
Taylor said: “He’s got family background in boxing so I think he’s excited to get in the ring and we’re excited to have him.
“Joey’s going to be very committed, we’ve spoken daily for the last few days and he’s really on it.”

Ever since launching in the summer of 2022, Misfits has been the home to crossover and celebrity-style fights.
So Essex – who first shot to fame on ITV’s hit show TOWIE – will have no shortage of famous opponents lining up to face him.
Taylor said: “I’ve got a list for him and we’re going to go through it and figure it out.”
Essex, 33, was quick to call out YouTuber-turned boxer KSI, 30, but Taylor insisted the fight is not yet on the horizon.

He said: “No disrespect to Joey Essex but I don’t think it would be fair to him to make his debut against KSI and I don’t think it would be right for KSI to go from Tommy Fury to Joey Essex.
“If Joey builds up, has a good few fights and develops a lot of skill and it will be a fair fight and a challenge for both of them, then anything is possible down the line. But for now, that’s not the fight.”
Essex insisted he would “WALLOP” KSI and claimed there is friction between the pair.
And Taylor added: “I think there’s an underlying little tension there between them.
“I don’t think resolving it in the ring is the right thing to do now for Joey, I don’t think it’s right for KSI either.
‘But down the line let’s see what happens, watch that space.
“I don’t know why they have any rivalry or beef but it’s interesting. Sometimes these things develop on their own.” More

He first fought in February and survived a final round knockdown to beat Paul by split decision.
British YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI then suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Fury in their October grudge match.
Internet sensation KSI was fuming with the result and launched an appeal to the Professional Boxing Association.
But the PBA insisted there are NO grounds to overturn the result of the Misifts melee as they rejected his appeal.

KSI, 30, now says he is taking time away from the ring after that setback.
However, his fans are still stinging following the controversial decision – and they are letting Fury have it.

He is in control of boxing in the region and has managed to even have feuding promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren work together.
His Excellency wants everyone in the sport to collaborate – but it will not cross over to the new age of influencer boxing.
