KSI vs Swarmz: Latest YouTube fight that’s surrounded in controversy with two bouts in one night and ‘neo-Nazi’ tattoo

KSI returns to the ring tonight in a bid to prove he’s the ruler in the YouTube boxing space – but the event has not been without its twists and turns. The British social media, rap and prizefighting star faces TWO opponents on the night of his comeback, this Saturday.

KSI – real name Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji – last boxed in November 2019 against Logan Paul.
They had drawn in a white collar bout a year earlier and then raised eyebrows when Eddie Hearn turned them professional for their rematch.
KSI, 28, ran out a winner by scrappy split-decision after Paul, 27, hit him on the deck and got a two point dedication.
A lot has happened since then, for example KSI and Paul are now friends and even own an energy drink together called Prime.

And KSI took a break from boxing to focus on music, releasing two albums and headlining at Wembley.
This is all while Paul’s brother Jake went 5-0 as a boxer and emerged as the most accomplished celebrity fighter.
It also provided KSI’s main motivation for returning to boxing, eyeing a grudge match with his American nemesis.
He told talkSPORT: “Jake Paul – that’s the main goal, that’s the only reason I came back.”

KSI’s plan appears simple; return to boxing after three years out, brush off some cobwebs and return for a mega-fight with Jake.
And he was not short of rivals offering their services to welcome KSI back to the squared circle.
But, after such a long period out, and a blockbuster bout with Jake on the cards, picking his return fight was a delicate operation.
Initially, KSI was matched with Alex Wassabi, a bout which had legs and made sense.
Wassabi had beaten KSI’s brother Deji in March and he’s advised by Jake, creating a sellable narrative.
But disaster struck just weeks out from the DAZN pay-per-view as Wassabi withdrew, leaving KSI without an opponent.
What followed was an online back-and-forth between KSI and Jake, who had offered to step in on late notice.

Several insults later and KSI appeared to snub the deal and claimed he would fight his arch rival next year at Wembley.
The Brit then announced rapper Swarmz – who in 2020 he collaborated on a song with – would be his shock replacement opponent.
That was baring in mind Swarmz – real name Brandon Scott – has never laced up a pair of gloves.
Although he did once say on Instagram: “I’m going to smoke this guy – watch, I’m a mad man.”
Despite Swarmz’s promise, the backlash from fans was so intense KSI reacted by organising another opponent to fight on the same night.
He announced Bulgarian boxer Ivan Nikolov would fight him later on after Swarmz, an unprecedented move to say the least.
But Nikolov then had to be withdrawn after it emerged he had neo-Nazi tattoos, forcing KSI to even sack his matchmaker.
    Rapper Swarmz will fight KSI
Luis Alcarez Pineda will be KSI’s second opponent of the night
He said: “He’s a white supremacist Ivan isn’t my opponent anymore. He has been removed.
“The matchmaker also got fired for allowing this to happen in the first place. But yes, my new opponent is Luis Alcarez Pineda.”
So out with Nikolov and in with 2-5 Pineda, a Mexican who was in March beaten on points and made his debut at welterweight.
But Pineda will have to jump up in weight to fight KSI at 185lb, which is 10lb off the light-heavyweight limit.
KSI revealed he has spent the last three years training in secret under the guidance of the London Shootfighters team.
A glimpse at his open workout is evidence that his hand speed, punch technique and footwork has improved.
And KSI has also vowed to ditch his wild, erratic style for a more reformed and traditional form of boxing.

So all that has come before, leading up to his return fight, will be put into practise as KSI offers fans two fights for the price of one.
And it is the first step in his mission to overthrow Jake Paul at the top of the YouTube boxing hierarchy.

Jake Paul claims KSI will ‘NEVER’ fight him as he slams YouTube rival for ‘doing fans dirty’ ahead of ring comeback

JAKE PAUL claims rival KSI will “NEVER” face him inside the boxing ring ahead of the YouTuber’s comeback this weekend.KSI, 29, returns to the squared circle on Saturday for the first time since he outpointed Jake’s brother Logan in November 2019.

Incredibly, KSI will be fighting twice as he takes on rapper Swarmz before pitting his wits against Mexican professional Luis Alcaraz Pineda three hours later.
Both contests will be three-round affairs, but that hasn’t impressed YouTuber-turned-Boxer Paul, who boasts a 5-0 record in the paid ranks.

He blasted on Twitter: “This can’t be real? Each ‘fight’ is 3 rounds? And he gets a 3hr break in between! Hahahahaha.
“It’s way easier than one 6 round fight. KSI & Minions Boxing doing the fans dirty with this fake s***. Mislead after mislead.”

And that sparked a huge Twitter feud, with KSI responding: “Was wondering when you were gonna pipe up. You must be so sad and bored on your a***, having no event happening.
“Still fighting a pro boxer before you, and you had 3 year head start. Plus how you gonna talk when you ain’t fought 2 people in one night?”
To which Paul replied: “You are fighting a nice young man from Mexico in a 3 round exhibition. Be real. No such thing as a 3 round pro fight.”
KSI then clapped back by insisting that at least he is fighting in 2022, with Jake inactive since December following his knockout win over Tyron Woodley.

Paul later messaged: “What you (sic) doing isn’t fighting. It’s an exhibition against a nice young man and your mate you make music with.”
In a follow-up tweet, Jake then said: “KSI will never fight me. That is obvious and I’m ok with it.
“He is trying to hype his exhibition fights.”
Again KSI was quick to comment, as he stated: “When you see me KO both of them, we’ll see if it isn’t ‘fighting’.
“Jake, I get it, you’re mad rn. You’re afraid that my PPVs are about to sit on everything you’ve done in the past 3 years combined.”
Despite having not fought since late last year after a spate of late cancellations, Paul has repeatedly been called out, with Claressa Shields and Amandu Nunes up for the task of beating him. More

And he plans to make up for lost time by extraordinarily fighting TWICE in one night.
He is set to open the DAZN pay-per-view event at the O2 against rapper Swarmz, real name Brandon Scott, 25.
And then he will close the card against little-known Pineda, 23, who was only drafted in on late notice.
Pineda is 2-5 and made his professional debut in 2017, losing but then winning twice after.

Although his form of late has been poor, losing his last four with three coming by knockout.
KSI was initially due to fight Alex Wassabi, 32, the American who beat his brother Deji in March.

But Wassabi was withdrawn amid a concussion scare and later controversially replaced by musician Swarmz.
The backlash was so fierce, due to Swarmz’s inexperience, that KSI made the bold decision to recruit a second opponent.

That was meant to be Ivan Nikolov – although the Bulgarian was seen to be a white supremacist with neo-Nazi tattoos.
So KSI went back to the drawing board, replaced Nikolov with Pineda and the show goes on.
KSI’s comeback has been centred around building up to a grudge match with Jake Paul, 25, who is 5-0 as a prizefighter.
But Paul is yet to face a recognised boxer, something KSI is set to beat his arch rival to.
His manager Mams Taylor said: “I was like, ‘Bro, what if you fight a pro boxer before Jake Paul does’.”
But if Pineda, who is said to have had 50 amateur boxing bouts, gets it his way, he will be the one fighting Paul.
He told Viddal Riley: “If they give me the opportunity, I’m willing to fight Jake Paul.”

Meet YouTuber Fousey, who fights Deji, suffered a broken nose in boxing debut and dramatically transformed his body

Fousey has dramatically transformed his body
Fousey was left with a broken nose in his first boxing bout
They co-headline the DAZN pay-per-view event topped by Deji’s famous older brother KSI, who fights twice in one night.
Deji and KSI are two of the most recognisable characters on YouTube in Britain, with over 50MILLION subscribers combined.
But Fousey is a star in his own right, with almost 11m subscribers to his name having been a prankster pioneer on the social media app.
He first boxed in 2019 against fellow content creator Slim Albaher, losing decisively in round four of a scheduled six.

Fousey was left visibly exhausted and suffered a broken nose due to the sustained damage he took in the exhibition bout.
The injury was so severe, he had to undergo surgery but it has not stopped him from pursuing boxing.

He signed to fight Deji after the two went back-and-forth at a boxing event last year.
Deji was coming off a loss to Jake Paul in 2018 and before facing Vinnie Hacker, he called Fousey an “easy fight”.

He later lost to Hacker and recently Alex Wassabi, leaving him winless in his three boxing bouts.
And even brother KSI has backed Fousey to leave another damning defeat on Deji’s record.
He said: “I think he’s going to lose.
“Fousey is going to keep going forward, and Deji is going to keep going back, and before you know it, the fight’s over.
“Then, Deji’s just there like ‘Oh, s***’. “I think it’s going to go to decision, and I think Fousey is going to win.”
I don’t think Deji’s ever been touched in the way I’ve touched him. As soon as he walks into it, and he feels what I bring to the tableFousey
Fousey believes he has the power to stop Deji in his tracks.
He predicted: “I think Deji’s very skilled, and very good in this sport despite the losses he’s taken.
“I think he’s going to come out and let his hands go, and that’s fine. That’s fine, everyone has a plan to let their hands go.
“But, I don’t think Deji’s ever been touched in the way I’ve touched him.
“As soon as he walks into it, and he feels what I bring to the table, I think that plan is going to go out the window.”

Fousey had to undergo a dramatic body transformation to get himself fighting fit.

Why is KSI fighting TWO opponents on the same night, how many rounds will there be?

KSI is back in the ring this weekend for the first time in nearly three years – but he’s having two fights in the same night. The YouTube sensation hasn’t fought since a points win over Logan Paul in November 2019.

But now he’s back and looking fitter than ever, ready to fight in his hometown London at the O2 Arena.
KSI was originally supposed to be fighting Alex Wassabi, but the clash was scrapped because of an injury to the latter.
But fans fear not, as the 29-year-old is set to fight TWICE on the card instead.

Why is KSI fighting twice this weekend, how many rounds will there be?
After KSI’s original scrap with Wassabi was nixed, there was a scramble to get a new, credible opponent in for JJ.
Rapper Swarmz was drafted in to compete with KSI, having never fought in the ring before.
After some dissatisfaction from fans a second opponent, to fight KSI on the very same night, was arranged.
Ivan Nikolov, who had a winning record as a pro boxer, was picked.
But Nikolov was removed from the event after he was found to have neo-Nazi tattoos and and white supremacist beliefs.

So instead of Nikolov, professional boxer Luis Pineda was brought in.
KSI will open the card with his clash against Pineda, before competing in the main event against Swarmz.
Both fights will be three rounds each.
“I replaced my second opponent because… he’s a white supremacist,” KSI said.
“Ivan isn’t my opponent anymore. He has been removed.
“The matchmaker also got fired for allowing this to happen in the first place. But yes, my new opponent is Luis Alcarez Pineda.
“He has a better record to be honest, 2-5, so he hasn’t lost as many times as Ivan. He’s Mexican, younger as well, 23.”

Why is KSI not fighting Ivan Nikolov?
Originally KSI was announced to fight pro boxer Ivan Nikolov as his boxing opponent in the secondary main event.
But Nikolov has since been pulled from the card and replaced by Pineda.
This is because Nikolov, 43, has been seen to have neo-Nazi tattoos, causing fan fury.
A “white power” tattoo is seen on his stomach and on his left forearm, Nikolov has a tattoo of the words “Blood & Honour”.
That is the name of a neo-Nazi skinhead group formed in England in the 1980s.
Also in between the words is a triskele symbol, a three-pointed swastika which was the logo for the group.
Nikolov also has a Schutzstaffel logo on his right arm, which was the police and military force of the Nazi Party, who pledged an oath of loyalty to Germany’s ex-dictator Adolf Hitler.
His neo-Nazi tattoos were pointed out by one of his previous opponents, Daniel Blenda Dos Santos, who slammed the boxer after winning their fight in April.
Dos Santos said: “When I saw his tattoos, some of them racist in nature, I wanted to hurt him.”
KSI, 28, responded to the allegations on his YouTube channel and confirmed Nikolov was replaced due to his tattoos.
He said: “He’s a white supremacist
“Ivan isn’t my opponent anymore. He has been removed.
“The matchmaker also got fired for allowing this to happen in the first place. But yes, my new opponent is Luis Alcaraz Pineda.”

    What has been said?
“Just wanna say that at the end of the day, the one of the main goals of this first fight was to get rid of ring rust,” KSI said after the announcement.
“I wanted to prove to myself that I’m a better boxer than I’ve portrayed in the past. If you wanna see, fine.
“If not, fine. I’m still doing it anyway. There are still many good fights on this card that I’m excited to see.
“We are the only YouTube boxing event happening this summer.
“We’ve had many things try to disrupt this event but still we stand. This is a long term play, and I’ll happily take a small L now for a big W later.”
Jake Paul, however, has had a few things to say about the fight.
“KSI vs Swampz… Dod’t they have music together?” he wrote on Twitter.
“He’s fighting someone who has never fought before and that is his friend…
“This fight should for free.” More

Meet KSI’s boxing comeback opponent Swarmz, who made a song with YouTuber and once had promising football career

The first of the double act will be musician Swarmz, who KSI knows very well.
Alongside Tion Wayne, the pair recorded Houdini in 2020, but supposedly they did not see eye to eye.
That became evident when Swarmz – real name Brandon Scott – called out KSI on TikTok Live.

He said: “I will smoke him. I want KSI, I’ll win bro, I’ll smoke him.”
The bad blood was apparently strong enough for Swarmz to be contacted as a replacement opponent for KSI’s return.
Alex Wassabi, 32, was the initial man in the opposite corner, until the American withdrew amid a concussion scare.
Swarmz, 25, was then surprisingly announced as Wassabi’s substitute, but it did not go down well.

The backlash was so fierce KSI decided to recruit another opponent to fight after Swarmz.
That was initially journeyman Ivan Nikolov – but the Bulgarian later emerged to be am alleged white supremacist with neo-Nazi tattoos.
So 2-5 Mexican Luis Alcarez Pineda, 23, was instead drafted in as yet another replacement.
Despite his losing record, he is at least an experienced boxer, something Swarmz certainly is not.
But he is at least a sportsman, having had at one point a promising football career.
Swarmz was on the books at Fulham, Charlton Athletic and Southend United at youth level.
And he later played for Southend but dropped to non-league afterwards, before quitting football in 2018 to focus solely on music.

He told Amarudontv: “I could have gone far in football, but it was a thing with my attitude. I was was just silly, I had a lot of potential.”
Swarmz was still making music while playing football but got his big break after releasing Lyca, which went viral.
He was then signed by Virgin Records and has collaborated with the likes of Bugzy Malone, Krept and Konan and Dappy of N-Dubz.
Swarmz is a heavy underdog against friend-turned-foe KSI but vowed to upset the odds.
