Jake Paul could rematch UFC legend Anderson Silva in a different sport after making bet ahead of fight

JAKE PAUL has agreed to rematch Anderson Silva under kickboxing rules if he loses their fight after making a bet live on stage. The YouTuber-turned boxer returns over the weekend in Arizona for his first bout in ten months.

Paul last fought in December, knocking out Tyron Woodley, 40, four months after beating the ex-UFC champion on points.
Beforehand, they agreed the loser would get the winner’s name tattooed on them, with Woodley briefly getting Paul inked on his finger.
For the American’s return, he raised the stakes by suggesting he goes into Silva’s world should he suffer defeat.

The ex-UFC champion has retired from MMA so called for a sequel to take place in the kickboxing ring instead.
But Paul wants the Brazilian to help launch a fighter’s union if he is victorious in Glendale.
He said: “If I win, me and you come together to create a united fighters association to help UFC fighters get better pay and better health care.
“You come become the interim president and we united to help these fighters once and for all.”
Paul, 25, has rivalled UFC president in the past and been critical of the MMA promotion’s pay and health care system.

But he also wants boxers to receive help in retirement and called out stars of the past and present to get involved.
He said: “I think it should be all MMA and all boxing. It should just help all fighters, because that’s truly what needed.”
Paul added: “We need all the help we can get.
“People will need to be selfless and use their platforms to create this and make it an amazing thing that is forever.
“This is not just a ten-year thing, this is not a couple years, this is something that can stand forever.”

Although the eight-rounder is to be reviewed after the Brazilian claimed he was knocked out twice in sparring for the fight.
The UFC legend – speaking at the open workout – has since clarified that he was just joking and his comments were lost in translation.
But the Arizona commission have now thrown the fight into doubt by organising a meeting at 6.30pm local time to discuss the claims.

He told SecondsOut: “I don’t know if it’s a potential fight.
“And I don’t know if he will take that risk after he sees what I’m going to do to Anderson, a southpaw, he’s not going to take that risk.”

KSI beat Paul’s brother Logan, 27, in their 2019 rematch, a year after they drew in an exhibition bout.
But a grudge match between the two to settle the score is yet to materialise, something Paul blames the Brit for.
He posted a series on Instagram DMs from KSI’s fans, who believed their hero was “scared” to fight the American.
Paul tweeted: “Dear KSI you say all I have is a right hand. So why then are you so afraid to fight me?
“I’m genuinely curious. Even your own fans are starting to lose respect for you.”

Future UFC Hall-of-Famer Silva, 47, will be the most decorated striker Paul has faced in his burgeoning career – although Matchroom Boxing chief Hearn believes Father Time will be on side of the YouTuber this weekend.
He told Betfred: “Anderson Silva is 48 years old now, but he’s an MMA legend.
“He’s a decent striker as well, and obviously has that victory over a very faded Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
“I just expect Jake to be a bit too fresh for him.”

Paul, 25, goes into his clash with Silva on the back of a brutal sixth-round knockout victory over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
Hearn has been impressed by what he’s seen of Paul since his debut, saying: “Watching Jake, he’s definitely improving as a fighter.
    “You can see that.
“He’s in good shape and he’s a strong young man, but he’s probably not going to get as much credit as he deserves if he wins because the argument that he hasn’t beaten a boxer will remain.

“Silva is definitely his toughest challenge so far and if he wins he should get the appropriate credit.”
Improvements aside, Hearn believes The Problem Child will eventually get found out.

He said: “I don’t think he’s terrible but he’s certainly not going to be competing at world level.
“Again, we shouldn’t really knock him because many fighters are trying to compete at world level but also won’t make that grade as well.
“And that’s no disgrace because it’s a very difficult thing to do.

Carl Froch reveals he’d take on Jake or Logan Paul as his last fight if he was to come out of retirement for mega payday

CARL FROCH has revealed he’d happily lace up his gloves again for a dust-up with YouTube sensation Jake Paul. The four-time super-middleweight champion retired from boxing in the summer of 2015 but has flirted with the prospect of returning to the ring again over the last seven years.

Froch would happily fight both the Paul brothers on the same night
And The Cobra admits he’d love to put a sting into the tale of Paul’s burgeoning boxing career.
He told William Hill: “If I could have one last fight it would be Jake Paul. I’d absolutely smash him to bits, easy.”
“Jake Paul can’t fight, he’s pretending, he’s conning people.
“He’s got his audience, I don’t begrudge him – he’s making money and doing what he’s doing. But he’s not a professional boxer.”
    READ MORE IN SPORT
Paul, 25, has yet to take on a professional boxer during his brief stint in the sport – and Froch believes he’d be wary of facing him if the opportunity presented itself.
The 45-year-old said: “He knows not to come anywhere near me. He’s bigger than me, he’s 14 stone, he’s younger than me, he’s fresher, he thinks he can fight.
“I wouldn’t even train for this guy, I’d do a little bit of training.
“I might do the odd little run to get the heart beating, but I’d take Jake Paul to school and hammer him. He knows it, he wouldn’t fight me. No chance.”
Froch is so confident of battering Paul he’d be open to facing his older brother Logan on the same night.
He said: “I’d fight him and his brother on the same night. What they could do is take it in turns, so Jake can do round one and Logan can do round two.
“So they’re having a four-minute breather between rounds. It’s never been done, it’s exhibition boxing. I’d take them both on.”
