“Well, to all the non-believers – Jake Paul is fighting Anderson Silva. It’s an honour to have the opportunity to share the ring with the greatest UFC striker of all time.
“On Saturday, October 29, I will walk humbly into the ring, touch gloves with a living legend and do my best to exterminate ‘The Spider.’”

Paul, 25, was originally due to return on August 6 until suffering two fight cancellations.
The American was twice set to fight Tommy Fury, 23, until the Brit pulled out after suffering an injured rib and then over US visa issues.

Hasim Rahman Jr, 31, had signed to replace Fury but a weight disagreement with Paul saw their bout cancelled.
Paul last fought in December, knocking out Fury’s substitute Tyron Woodley, 40, who he had already beaten on points four months earlier.
That added to KOs over online rival “AnEsonGib”, ex-NBA player Nate Robinson, 38, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 38.
Silva was released by the UFC in 2020 following five losses in six bouts, three of which were on the spin.
But he has made a successful transition to boxing, having already had a 1-1 record in the ring.
Silva beat former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 36, in June 2021 then knocked out ex-UFC champ Tito Ortiz, 47, in September.
He will become Paul’s first opponent with a recognised boxing record.
Silva said: “I know that in life everything has its purpose. Nothing comes just by chance. So, I thank God for my health, my family and my team for providing me with this opportunity to continue doing the thing that I love the most.
“I believe this will be the biggest combat event of the year and will truly make history in the sport forever. See you on October 29.” More

Tommy Fury ‘desperate’ to secure fight with Jake Paul or KSI and ‘NOT motivated by winning titles’, says Tony Bellew

TONY BELLEW said Tommy Fury is “desperate” to secure a fight with Jake Paul or KSI and “not motivated by winning titles”. The 2019 Love Islander has twice signed to fight Paul but was withdrawn both times.

Tony Bellew said Tommy Fury is ‘not motivated by winning titles’
And he recently accepted a callout from YouTuber KSI, who won TWICE in one night.
Fury’s decision to engage in the all-celebrity bouts caused ex-world champion Bellew to change his opinion on the brother of Tyson.
He told DAZN: “At the start of his career, I was led to believe that Tommy was a serious prospect who had big aspirations to go far in the sport.
“After watching his first few fights and seeing how desperate he is to secure a fight with these YouTube guys, it’s clear to me that he’s not motivated by winning titles.

“It’s all about cashing out with fights against the likes of KSI and Jake Paul.”
Fury, 23, was due to face Paul, 25, in December but pulled out after suffering a rib injury in training.
And when they tried to reschedule for August, this time he ran into US visa issues.
KSI, who himself is eyeing a grudge match with Paul, returned after three years out of the ring.

And he made up for lost time by beating rapper Swarmz, 25, and the start of the night and so-called boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda, 23, at the end.
KSI, 29, wants his second comeback fight in January and called Fury out for it.
And Bellew, 39, reckons the 8-0 light-heavyweight is better off chasing influencer bouts opposed to making a go in the traditional ranks.
He said: “To be fair to Tommy, it’s probably the best move considering his ability.
“I’ll go on record and say that I don’t think he has what it takes to win a British title.
“It’s stacked domestically at light heavyweight, and you’ve got to go a long way down the rankings before you could find a boxer who you’d fancy Tommy to have success against.
“His current direction is probably best for business.”

And afterwards, he called out ex-Love Islander Fury, who accepted.
Hearn admitted the all-celebrity bout is due to bring in eyeballs but warned not to expect an exhibition of boxing skills.
He told DAZN: “It’s still a huge fight those two.
“And it would be competitive, because I’ve said before, and I don’t mean it disrespectfully, neither of them are very good.

“They’re not seasoned or skilled fighters, that doesn’t mean it can’t be entertaining.
“It might be more entertaining watching those guys just unravel in front of the world.”
KSI, 29, beat Logan Paul, 27, in his pro debut in 2019, a year after drawing in a white collar bout.

KSI is eyeing a blockbuster grudge match against Paul’s brother Jake, 25, who is 5-0 in his own career.
Fury twice signed to fight the American but was withdrawn on both occasions.
Firstly, in December he suffered an injured rib and was then forced out of the rescheduled bout in August amid a US visa issue.
Jake is now set to return in October against UFC legend Anderson Silva, 48, who has a 4-1 boxing record.
But afterwards, the YouTuber-turned prizefighter is eyeing a fight with KSI next year, which Hearn backs him to win.
He said: “Jake Paul is fighting levels above what we saw on Saturday and I think Jake Paul beats KSI.
“But KSI looked better, although he was up against nothing. I think I’ll give him credit for looking a bit better than I thought he might.”

And the YouTuber-turned boxer recently announced a sponsorship deal with Arsenal alongside former opponent and friend Paul.
KSI, whose nickname among pals is JJ, recently returned to the ring, beating TWO opponents in one night at the O2 Arena.
And Paul went to watch from ringside, having seen Arsenal beat Fulham 2-1 earlier in the day.
It was there he alongside his podcast hosts Mike Majlak and George Janko visited KSI’s box, and broke his punch machine.

Majlak said: “Thank you to JJ once again, not only for smoothing things over with the UK audience but also giving us his suite.
“Which was incredible, that had a punching bag in it that our stupid American asses spent the majority of the game trying to beat his record, which was 740.
“No one was able to do it until our massive security detail – he’s a brick wall – he hit the bag once and not only did he break the record, he broke the machine.
“The bag detached, the metal screw evaporated immediately. So JJ, we broke your machine and we’re sorry.”

He said on his podcast: “I’m watching the landscape unfold. And I have no wins but I am hungry, I’m really hungry to get back in the ring.

KSI vs Tommy Fury tale of the tape: How Love Island star and YouTuber compare ahead of celebrity fight

KSI appears ready to turn his attention to Tommy Fury in what would be a massive celebrity dust-up. The YouTuber returned to the ring last weekend after three years out and made up for lost time by winning TWICE in one night.

Whereas Fury is yet to follow up on his most recent win in April following yet another cancelled grudge match with Jake Paul.
KSI named the 2019 Love Islander on his five-man hit-list, saying: “Tommy Fury – I want a piece of that.”
To which Fury responded: “You know where to find me.”
So here, SunSport looks at how the the two compare.

KSI, 29, first boxed in February 2018 beating online rival Joe Weller, 26, in three rounds of their white collar bout.
In the same year, he then drew with Logan Paul, 27, in a similar exhibition bout before the pair rematched in 2019.
They controversially turned professional, meaning the head guards came off and KSI went on to win by split-decision.
The social media sensation then took a break from boxing to focus on music, releasing two albums and headlining at the likes of Wembley.

But KSI trained in secret at the London Shootfighters gym and went on to announce a fight with Alex Wassabi, who beat his brother in March.
Wassabi would later pull out, causing KSI to turn to rap rival Swarmz, real name Brandon Scott, who had never boxed before.
The uproar among fans was so bad that KSI took the unprecedented step of arranging two fights on the same night.

He went on to beat Swarmz in two mismatched rounds at the start of the night and then stopped Mexican pro boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda in three.
KSI is eyeing a super-fight with Logan’s brother Jake but wants to build his momentum back steadily.
Jake, 25, was twice signed to fight Fury, 23, but the Brit first pulled out in December after suffering an injured rib.
He returned by beating Pole Daniel Bocianski, 27, on the undercard of brother Tyson’s Wembley knockout against Dillian Whyte.
“I’m definitely down to fight Tommy Fury, one hundred per cent.
Fury was then rescheduled his headline bout against Jake on August 6 but he was withdrawn again, this time amid a US visa issue.
His next fight is yet to be confirmed, although the unbeaten prospect is training again.
With eight professional wins, he has over double the experience that KSI does, who only started training less than five years ago.
But the pair are the same height and near enough in weight.
Although Fury was have an 80in reach which is four inches more than KSI’s.
KSI had hinted he could face Fury before his return, stating to talkSPORT: “I’m definitely down to fight Tommy Fury, one hundred per cent.
