Future UFC Hall-of-Famer Silva, 47, will be the most decorated striker Paul has faced in his burgeoning career – although Matchroom Boxing chief Hearn believes Father Time will be on side of the YouTuber this weekend.
He told Betfred: “Anderson Silva is 48 years old now, but he’s an MMA legend.
“He’s a decent striker as well, and obviously has that victory over a very faded Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
“I just expect Jake to be a bit too fresh for him.”

Paul, 25, goes into his clash with Silva on the back of a brutal sixth-round knockout victory over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
Hearn has been impressed by what he’s seen of Paul since his debut, saying: “Watching Jake, he’s definitely improving as a fighter.
    “You can see that.
“He’s in good shape and he’s a strong young man, but he’s probably not going to get as much credit as he deserves if he wins because the argument that he hasn’t beaten a boxer will remain.

“Silva is definitely his toughest challenge so far and if he wins he should get the appropriate credit.”
Improvements aside, Hearn believes The Problem Child will eventually get found out.

He said: “I don’t think he’s terrible but he’s certainly not going to be competing at world level.
“Again, we shouldn’t really knock him because many fighters are trying to compete at world level but also won’t make that grade as well.
“And that’s no disgrace because it’s a very difficult thing to do.

Carl Froch reveals he’d take on Jake or Logan Paul as his last fight if he was to come out of retirement for mega payday

CARL FROCH has revealed he’d happily lace up his gloves again for a dust-up with YouTube sensation Jake Paul. The four-time super-middleweight champion retired from boxing in the summer of 2015 but has flirted with the prospect of returning to the ring again over the last seven years.

Froch would happily fight both the Paul brothers on the same night
And The Cobra admits he’d love to put a sting into the tale of Paul’s burgeoning boxing career.
He told William Hill: “If I could have one last fight it would be Jake Paul. I’d absolutely smash him to bits, easy.”
“Jake Paul can’t fight, he’s pretending, he’s conning people.
“He’s got his audience, I don’t begrudge him – he’s making money and doing what he’s doing. But he’s not a professional boxer.”
    READ MORE IN SPORT
Paul, 25, has yet to take on a professional boxer during his brief stint in the sport – and Froch believes he’d be wary of facing him if the opportunity presented itself.
The 45-year-old said: “He knows not to come anywhere near me. He’s bigger than me, he’s 14 stone, he’s younger than me, he’s fresher, he thinks he can fight.
“I wouldn’t even train for this guy, I’d do a little bit of training.
“I might do the odd little run to get the heart beating, but I’d take Jake Paul to school and hammer him. He knows it, he wouldn’t fight me. No chance.”
Froch is so confident of battering Paul he’d be open to facing his older brother Logan on the same night.
He said: “I’d fight him and his brother on the same night. What they could do is take it in turns, so Jake can do round one and Logan can do round two.
“So they’re having a four-minute breather between rounds. It’s never been done, it’s exhibition boxing. I’d take them both on.”

The duo linked up to score three of the Sidemen’s goals in the 8-7 thriller at the Valley Stadium.
And their displays have prompted League Two side Crawley to invite them – along with brother Jed – to train with the first team next week with a view to potentially playing in the FA Cup.
An excerpt of a club statement read: “Crawley Town Football Club and WAGMI United are delighted to announce that Tobi “TBJZL” Brown — a founding member of The Sidemen, Europe’s largest YouTube collective — will join the club for training on 1 November, alongside his brothers Manny Brown and Jed Brown.
“All three players will be further evaluated by coaches and staff during the session for possible inclusion in the team for the Red Devils’ upcoming FA Cup match against Accrington Stanley on 5 November.

“Tobi and Manny recently starred in the 2022 Sidemen FC Charity Match in September, where Crawley scouts were on hand to evaluate participating players as part of WAGMI United’s recent partnership with The Sidemen.
“The brothers combined to score three of Sidemen FC’s eight goals in the victory.”
Crawley Co-Chairman Preston Johnson said: “We’re excited to have Tobi, Manny and Jed joining us for training on Tuesday, and we’re looking forward to seeing what they can bring to the club.
“Depending on how they perform, we may extend offers to continue training with the lads on a trial basis and potentially compete for a spot on the bench for the Accrington Stanley match.

“As we’ve said before, it’s fairly unlikely they’d get on the pitch unless the game is well in hand, but we want to give them the opportunity to show Lewis and the staff what they can do in training and then go from there.”
Crawley revealed last month that they’d formed a partnership with the Sidemen.
And the Red Devils even sent scouts to watch them in action in their showdown with the YouTube Allstars.

The remainder of the club statement read: “The FA’s bylaws dictate that any player who has formally registered as part of a club is eligible to be named to the squad and potentially compete in FA Cup matches.
“And while Crawley Town FC remains fully committed to winning our first-round match, the club also looks forward to the possibility of these new recruits joining our team on a trial basis for training and the matchday experience — and introducing the club to millions of potential new supporters in the process.” More

‘He can take it all’ – Jake Paul backed to become world champ by prodigy who was stunned by YouTuber’s boxing knowledge

JAKE PAUL has been backed to reach the pinnacle of boxing by his prodigy Ashton Sylve, who was left in shock by his celebrity manager. Sylve is 8-0 with a 100 per cent knockout ratio and a target of almost every promoter by the time he was just 18.
Women’s world champion Amanda Serrano, Ashton Sylve and Jake Paul
But Paul and his Most Valuable Promotions stable managed to snap up the exciting American prospect.
The pair trained together briefly after Sylve took a trip to the YouTuber-turned boxer’s Puerto Rico training base.
And it was there he was left pleasantly surprised by Paul’s boxing knowledge, which he thinks will be enough to take the 5-0 prizefighter all the way.
Sylvie told SunSport: “He’s honestly going pretty fast and he’s a very fast learner.

“Just talking to him, honestly I didn’t think he’d be that smart in boxing, just listening to the things he says, he’s picking things up pretty quick.

Sylve, who has mutual famous friends to Paul’s, admits as first he was unsure about the social media sensation’s legitimacy in the sport.
But after Paul knocked out a pair of former MMA champions in Ben Askren, 38, and Tyron Woodley, 40, the teen talent was convinced.

Sylve said: “I just thought it was pretty much entertainment, something fun coming to the boxing fight, like in basketball they do celebrity games.
“I thought it was something like that but when it started to get serious and him actually having a professional record, I thought it was weird at first.
“But then I started to think everybody else’s career is kind of like that, a lot of fighters fight people in their first five fights who shouldn’t even be in the ring.
“So I didn’t think it was too bad and it started bringing a lot of eyes to boxing, so it was a plus for the whole boxing scene.”

Paul returns over the weekend in Arizona against Anderson Silva, 47, the biggest test of his career.
And it has also afforded Sylve a prime time spot as chief support in a bout against Braulio Rodriguez, 34.
Sylve was due to have his coming out party in August at New York’s Iconic Madison Square Garden.
But Paul had to axe his own pay-per-view bill after Tommy Fury, 23, and Hasim Rahman Jr, 31, pulled out due to a US visa issue and weight row respectively.
So Sylve has had to share the agonising wait alongside Paul and remain calm under the chaos.

The pair meet over eight-rounds at 187lb in Arizona at the weekend.
It is the night Paul promises to legitimise himself in the sweet science but just another day in the office for UFC great Silva.
And ahead of the fascinating fight for the ages, SunSport runs down what the experts predict.
    Oscar De La Hoya
The six-weight boxing champion is a big fan of Paul and the YouTuber’s impact on the sport, so his prediction comes as no surprise.
De La Hoya, 49, told Inside Fighting: “That’s a good fight. I’m gonna go with Jake Paul.
“Yeah, I’m gonna go with Jake Paul, just because he seems like he’s getting into the rhythm of things. He doesn’t have too many fights.
“He loves boxing, is a hard worker, and has a lot of power. If he connects with Silva, he’s going to knock him out. If he touches Silva, he’s going down.”

The former two-weight UFC champion was once called out by Paul and is now backing his fellow MMA icon.

“If Jake Paul wins – honestly, he’s a kid that’s in his prime, and I say that knowing that now Jake Paul can fight. The guy can fight.
“I’m done being of the people that say this kid’s a joke. This kid is not a joke. The kid can fight, and there are many reasons as to why he can fight.
“But we talk about Anderson, all that he has done – Anderson beating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is bigger and better than anything (Paul’s) ever done.”

    Tyron Woodley
The ex-UFC champ was twice beaten by Paul, on points and by KO, so knows all about the social media sensation’s power.
Woodley, 40, told MMA Fighting: “I know a lot of people want to see Jake Paul get beat up and see him taught a lesson like a bully on a playground.
“But he really is a kid, not very much responsibility, no financial limitations, energy, he makes everything a bucket list, a challenge.
“That’s why he likes to bet so much. If he loses, it’s not that big of a deal but he secretly wants to win real bad. Cause he’s been a fan of the combat sports world for so long.
“I’ve got so many videos of the baby face Jake Paul wanting to take pictures with me and Logan and being fans of me back in the day, he’s just tricking everyone.

The British YouTuber and crossover boxing star has long rivalled Paul, following his 2019 win over his brother Logan.
And the pair are lined up for a 2023 grudge match at Wembley Stadium next year.
But for now, they continue to take aim at each other, which was no different when KSI, 29, offered a blunt prediction for Paul’s next fight.

    Tom Aspinall
The UFC heavyweight has not been afraid to hail Paul in the past and praised him for some wise matchmaking.
Aspinall, 29, told Midnite: “I think he’s got Anderson Silva at a good time. Silva has obviously got a lot of miles on the clock. But he also has a lot of skills so it’s an interesting fight.
“Silva has got to be pushing 50 now but the skills are still there, the body is still there.
“I think Jake Paul takes it, I think Paul should be able to outwork him being the younger and fresher man but you never know.
“Silva’s getting a bit older and Paul’s young and hungry – and Jake Paul’s looked good. I don’t care what anybody says, it looks like he has got skills. So I think he wins that one.”

The Iceman’s peak in the UFC cage came to an end just as Silva came to prominence and the American expects him to teach Paul a lesson.
Liddell, 52, said to Fight Hub: “I think he wins, I think he knocks him out.

    Eddie Hearn
The promoter has had a love-hate relationship with Paul but still backed him to beat an ageing Silva.
Hearn told The MMA Hour: “I don’t know enough about Anderson Silva. Anderson is [47], but he can box a bit by the sound of things.
“While boxing is still a very impressive part of his repertoire, he’s still not a boxer, and he’s 47 years of age.
“But he’s a tough guy, he has a huge profile, he can box, and I think he’ll be competitive.
“I don’t think he beats Jake, because I think Jake is young, and I think he can punch a bit – and I’m intrigued to watch, and I like what Jake’s doing.”

The former UFC title challenger had a fierce rivalry with Silva, losing twice and now has an allegiance with Paul.
Sonnen, 45, told Fight Hub TV: “I do have strong feelings for this fight, I don’t think Jake Paul is going to knock him out.
“If there was a magic wand, you knew this fight was going to happen and that Jake wasn’t going to knock him out, it would change your opinion.
“Jake counts on that, he’s a powerful guy and he connects on people.
