MUHSIN CASON has put a family feud to one side in a bid to steal the show on Jake Paul’s undercard. Cason features on the pay-per-view headlined by celebrity boxing rivals Paul and Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

The cruiserweight is the younger brother of heavyweight legend Hasim Rahman, who stunned Lennox Lewis in 2001 but lost the rematch. 
And Cason – 21 years Rahman’s junior – is ready to announce himself as the latest boxing star to come out of the fighting family.
He told SunSport: “This is the fight where people are going to know why I got picked for this card. I’m ready to show everybody what talent I have. 
“I’m not just Hasim Rahman’s younger brother. I’m a boxer, I’m a box-puncher and I’m going to prove to everybody I can become world champion, inshallah.”

Cason spent time sparring with Paul in Puerto Rico in 2021, building a relationship that has seen him afforded a slot on the weekend’s card against Taryel Jafarov.
But the friendship was fractured last summer when his nephew, Rahman Jr, signed to fight Paul in place of Fury last year. 
Rahman Jr’s fight was later scrapped with a week to go amid a weight disagreement, leaving the bad blood with Paul still brewing on his side. 
Cason talked with his nephew – who is actually two years older than him – after being offered a spot on the YouTuber-turned boxer’s card.

He revealed: “Yeah, I spoke to him. He said congratulations. He just said, ‘Your time’ basically. There’s no animosity towards me fighting on Jake Paul’s card. 
“I was in camp with Jake before this, so it’s just business. If it makes dollars, it makes sense.” 
Rahman Jr, holding no grudges, added: “I don’t have beef with nobody that’s not trying to stop me from eating. 
“They did what they did, they showed their true colours and I did what I did and showed my true colours. 
“I feel like they know who was wrong in the whole situation, and they tried to dress it up and pin it on me but they know who was wrong. 
“I’ve been blessed with ample opportunities, so there’s no way I would tell my uncle, ‘Don’t mess with this guy.’ 
“No man, I want my uncle to prosper, I want him to go out there and actually steal the show from Jake. I want him to get knockout of the night.”

Cason was fuming when Paul, 26, aimed a dig his way during a pre-fight press conference with Rahman Jr, 31. 
But as the dust later settled, so too did his urge to settle the score with Paul in the ring. 
Cason said: “The beef was squashed a while ago, I really wanted to get in the ring over it. I wanted to but I guess it wasn’t smart for me to do it. 
“My manager said, ‘Relax. Cool off on Jake, big opportunities are coming.’ Now I know why. So I relaxed over it and it paid off.” 
Paul is now set to finally fight Fury, who has twice pulled out in the past amid injury and visa issues. 
Cason was brought into camp to help prepare Paul to fight Fury last August, and backed his old training partner to win this time around. 
He said: “Jake has a chin and also he’s relentless. I’ve got it going the full eight and Jake by decision.

“Because, Tommy doesn’t really show up in fights. He pitty pats, he doesn’t really get the knockout, not what he’s supposed to do. 
“He’s an OK boxer but I think the pressure is going to get to him in this fight.”

TOMMY FURY left his sparring partner Danny Christie so impressed he rushed to the bookies to put a bet on the Jake Paul fight. Fury is at last set to meet Paul in the ring – on Sunday in Saudi Arabia – having twice pulled out in the past due to injury and US visa issues.

The 2019 Love Island star prepared for the rescheduled grudge match in Bolton, at Alex Matvienko’s Elite Boxing Gym. 
And they welcomed in bare-knuckle boxing veteran Christie, who was so convinced by what he saw he whacked a wager on Fury to beat Paul. 
But he warned the 8-0 prospect to box smart and not let his heart rule his head with tensions running high in the celebrity boxing rivalry. 
Christie told SunSport: “I’ve put a nice bet on him down at the bookies, I’m very confident he’ll get the win.

“But in my opinion, with this becoming a very personal affair he may become overzealous, he may – and I hope he doesn’t – go looking for the knockout. 
“Once it turns into a firefight it’s anybody’s  game and Jake Paul is a powerful lad as we know. 
“But for me, the keys for victory for Tommy are just using his good boxing, using his good fundamentals, doubling and tripling up that jab. 
“A lot of feints, a lot of movement and just busting him up over the first few rounds and just getting him frustrated and marking him up.

“I think Tommy can win quite easily if he sticks to his fundamentals but like I said, if it turns into a firefight, who knows? It’s anyone’s game.” 
Christie was pleasantly surprised with Fury’s boxing fundamentals, revealing: “He nullified a lot of things that I like to do. 
“I like to stand my ground and let them do the hard work but Tommy’s footwork was superior to mine. 
“He had me doing all the things I don’t like to do, I was overarching, overextending, leaving my feet behind and he was making me pay. 
“Any counters that I could get off, I was only landing single shots really, I couldn’t put anything together.
“He was quite elusive, when I landed one punch he was out of the way for the second, he was making me miss a lot.”

Paul has beaten ex-MMA champions in Ben Askren, 38, Tyron Woodley, 40, and Anderson Silva, 47, in the past two years. 
But Fury, 23, will be the first opponent with a recognised boxing record that the YouTuber-turned prizefighter has faced. 
And Christie believes Fury can make easy work of Paul if he sticks to a box-and-move game plan. 
He said: “For whatever it’s worth, I think Tommy boxes the head off him. 
“I think if Tommy sticks to his footwork and his jab with good fundamentals and keeps him long, and looking to set punches up after busting him up for a couple of rounds, I think he can get the job done quite easily.

“He could have him overextending and overreaching, he could have him down, he could have him stopped.
“But ultimately, I think Tommy wins on points.”

BOXING legend Shane Mosley believes Jake Paul has what it takes to become a WORLD CHAMPION. Mosley, who won titles in three divisions, was the first to ever train Paul as a professional.

He led the YouTuber-turned boxer to a one-round victory over YouTube rival AnEsonGib in January 2020.
But Paul is now trained by ex-cruiserweight contender BJ Flores and Danny Smith, since going 6-0.
He returns on Sunday in Saudi Arabia against Tommy Fury, with the victor earning a WBC cruiserweight world ranking.
And should Paul, 26, win and be rated in the top 15, it would pave the way for a shock title shot.

And Mosley believes the American has the tools to take it all the way eventually, but suggested a move down to light-heavyweight.
He told FightHype: “It is a possibility, because he has the frame, he has the speed, he has the power.
“He might need to lose a little bit of weight, but he fights at cruiserweight so maybe he goes down to light-heavyweight.
“It is going to be hard for him at any of the weights, once you get to that level, then he has got to work with the right people.

“But, like right now, it will probably take him, two, three, four years to even be in that section, that area.
“He is not there yet, but if he fights the right people, then maybe he can do it.”
Fury, 23, will be the first opponent of Paul’s with a recognised boxing record.
That is despite wins over ex-MMA champions Ben Askren, 38, Tyron Woodley, 40, and Anderson Silva, 47.
UFC legend Silva even beat former middleweight champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 37, in 2021.
And Mosley named son-of-a-legend Chavez Jr as the perfect man to fight if Paul beats Fury.
He said: “Maybe he should fight Chavez Jr or something, or he fights this guy [Tommy Fury] and he wins, then fight Chavez Jr.
“Anderson Silva fought him already, maybe he should fight him and see what happens.

“He has to step his way up, keep stepping his way up and the way he looks now, he can do it.
“The way he is training now, continue to train, continue to believe, yeah, why not?”

JAKE PAUL’S sparring partner Kalvin Henderson believes Tommy Fury has already been dealt one defeat ahead of their grudge match. The pair of celebrity boxing rivals have rescheduled their pay-per-vie fight for Sunday in Saudi Arabia.

Helping Paul prepare for the fight – just 400 miles away in Dubai – is super-middleweight contender Henderson. 
He spent three weeks in camp with the YouTuber-turned unbeaten boxer and was left impressed with what he experienced in the ring. 
But it is Paul’s work outside the ropes that he believes has given him an early edge against 8-0 Fury. 
Henderson, 32, told SunSport: “I think he has won – so far at least – the mind games over Tommy.

“I think Tommy will approach this fight with a different mindset and now the fight is actually real and Jake is actually training for this guy, I think Tommy is re-thinking some things. 
“I think Jake has won the mind control fight over Tommy, but they have a great game plan for Tommy. 
“I’m really hoping Tommy is in the gym taking it seriously and really getting in shape because Jake is locked in.” 
Henderson was one of a pack of paid sparring partners, helping punch Paul into top shape for the box office bout.

And he revealed the 6-0 social media sensation gave as good as he got in the practise rounds. 
Henderson said: “The first couple of times I was kind of downloading information on what he’s good at, what he’s not good at. What he likes doing, how’s his power, how’s his speed.
“I was gaining information, but the second week we sparred, I turned it up. I pushed the envelope and started unleashing some of my weapons. 
“But, to Jake’s credit he came out every round ready to work again, he responded  very well and what impressed me most is he continued to make adjustments. 
“Even in the later rounds in sparring, usually I turn it up around round three or four and guys kind of go into what I call survival mode to try and make it through the rounds. 
“But it was cool to see Jake address every round like it was a new round, ready to get to work, making adjustments. 

“Of course, we didn’t go in there to try and kill him, he’s got a fight coming up and if I get kicked out of camp, that’s my money also gone too! 
“I was never hurting Jake, we picked and choosed when to turn it up, when to hit and move, but he’s made major improvements, especially for a guy who’s only been boxing three years.”
Paul, 26, is finally set to fight Fury, 23, who has twice pulled out in the past amid injury and US visa issues. 
And Henderson warned the fight will be decided on how Fury approaches it tactically – with Paul equally as capable of winning by KO or the cards. 
He said: “It really depends how Tommy comes in. If Tommy wants to move his feet and run all around the ring, it might go all eight rounds. 
“But if Tommy comes in and wants to press and engage, he might get caught early and go to sleep. It really depends on what Tommy shows up that night.

“But I know Jake is going to come ready. That’s what I like about it too, like I said, their game plan they’re hammering it in week after week, om the bag, on the pads, in sparring. 
“They’re ready to go. I’m sure they’re ready to go now, but February 26th they’ll be ready to go for sure.”
