‘I’m not buying it’ – Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather accused of staging altercation by Dana White amid fight rumours

JAKE PAUL and Floyd Mayweather have been accused of staging their street altercation by UFC president Dana White. Paul was filmed fleeing from Mayweather and his entourage and claimed they tried to jump him after a Miami Heat game.

It has fuelled speculation the rivals could settle the score in the boxing ring, leaving the likes of White skeptical.
He told TMZ Sports: “I just can’t see Floyd doing that. I can’t see Floyd rolling up on somebody and doing that.
“It’s not Floyd’s style. It’s not really his personality. I thought it was a skit. I’m not buying it.
“When’s the last time you saw Floyd Mayweather act like a thug and roll up on somebody with 50 people?

“That’s just not what Floyd does. Yeah, I’m not buying it.”
Paul’s feud with Mayweather started two years ago, before his brother Logan’s June 2021 exhibition with the boxing legend.
The self-proclaimed “Problem Child” stole Mayweather’s cap at a press conference, sparking a mass brawl.
A month later, Logan, 27, went the eight-round distance in the exhibition bout.

Paul, 26, has rivalled Mayweather, 46, ever since and called to settle it in the ring – but only in a sanctioned fight with records on the line.
He tweeted: “Floyd will not see me 1 on 1 in a real fight. That’s a fact. His team has hit my team numerous times to do one of his ‘exhibitions’.
“Now he ambushes me. Come see me in the ring, real fight, no exhibition robbing fans bulls***.”

Jake Paul ‘offered THREE dates and locations by KSI’s manager for bitter YouTube grudge match’ after Tommy Fury loss

JAKE PAUL has been offered THREE dates and venues to fight KSI, it has been claimed. The bitter YouTube rivals were in negotiations to finally settle their score at the end of the year.

KSI wants to fight Paul but will have to wait until after a rematch with Paul
But those plans took a hit after Paul suffered defeat for the first time in the ring, losing a split-decision to Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia in February.
The American now looks set to exercise his rematch clause with a sequel planned for the summer.
That is despite KSI’s manager Mams Taylor urging him to forget about Fury to instead focus on the planned grudge match.
So much so that, according to IfnBoxing, Taylor offered the Paul team three dates and locations to fight KSI this year.

But the self-proclaimed Problem Child has already spoken out to say he has no interest in fighting KSI until after rematching Fury.
He said on his brother Logan’s podcast: “Talk is cheap.
“Let’s just hope he gets into the ring and we can settle all the s*** talk there after I go back and avenge this loss to Tommy Fury.”
KSI, 29, is in talks to return on May 13 in London against millionaire businessman-turned 9-0 boxer Joe Fournier.

And he revealed plans to fight again in August and then December before RETIRING from the sport.
KSI wants to face the winner between Paul, 26, and Fury, 23, but warned he could walk away from his American rival.
He tweeted: “At this point, after I beat a pro boxer on May 13th, I’m gonna go straight for Tommy Fury.

KSI’s Misfits banner has British boxing chiefs ‘concerned’ but YouTuber expected to try for licence for Jake Paul fight

THE British Boxing Board of Control are “concerned” by KSI’s Misfits Boxing banner – but expect the YouTuber to apply for a professional license. The social media, rap and celebrity boxing star launched Misfits last year to provide a home for crossover bouts.

They are not sanctioned by the BBBofC and are instead overseen by the Professional Boxing Association in white collar-stye fights.
Misfits is promoted by experienced brothers Kalle and Nisse Sauerland and broadcast by DAZN.
All parties insist medical procedures around the events are stringent but BBBofC general secretary Robert Smith has voiced his fears.
He said on George Groves Boxing Club podcast: “I have spoken to members of Misfits about having a meeting because I am concerned.

“If somebody gets injured it’s boxing, it’s not Misfits boxing, it’s boxing. The first person who’s going to get the phonecall is me.
“The trouble we’ve got is they may not want to come to the Board because they know they won’t get a licence so there’s half the show gone and I fully understand that.
“Let’s just see what they can supply us with and let’s see how we can deal with it. If we’re not happy then we won’t do it but if we’re happy we’ll do it.”
KSI, 29, has now boxed in six bouts, but only one has been professionally sanctioned.

The first two were in 2018 exhibitions, a win over over Joe Weller, 27, in London and a draw with Logan Paul, 27, at the Manchester Arena.
But KSI beat Paul in their rematch a year later which was sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission.
KSI’s three wins since then have all been on Misfits and thus not as a pro boxer.
Meanwhile, Paul’s brother Jake, 26, is a 6-1 pro prizefighter having been licensed to box in Florida, LA, Georgia, Ohio and Arizona.
His most recent fight was his first against a recognised boxer and ended in defeat, against Tommy Fury, 23, by split-decision in Saudi Arabia.
The American and KSI still remain linked with a grudge match to finally settle their feud.
But Jake demanded the bout be under the BBBofC if he is to travel to England, leaving Smith expecting KSI to apply for a licence.
He said: “We won’t start looking at it until he applies but I presume that’s coming. But if he’s not good enough he won’t get one, it’s as simple as that.
“Jake Paul has a licence with California, he’s not the best boxer in the world but I don’t think he disgraced himself [against Tommy Fury].

“More than likely there are people in this country with less ability or the same ability [as Paul] have got a licence so therefore you have to consider that.
“He is licensed by an authentic governing body. But so far, KSI, I’ve never had any contact with whatsoever.”

It gives McBroom the chance to avenge his defeat in September when the two rematch at Wembley Arena on April 22.
The American sparked controversy when he made a video to say he tested positive for coronavirus after being hospitalised following defeat.
McBroom also revealed he fought just moments after using an IV – which is banned by any boxing commission – to combat his illness.
Gib – who was floored in the first round – would go onto win by knockout in the fourth after scoring FIVE knockdowns.

The rivals traded words when they faced off once again in the tournament draw.
Gib, 26, said: “This makes sense, he made his complaints, it’s time to prove yourself but it’s going the exact same route.
“I’ve got better IQ, you’re getting smoked, and it’s repeat. You haven’t got no easy fight coming in, you’re facing me and you’re getting smoked.”
McBroom, 30, said: “All I’ve got to say is, you won’t get lucky again because I won’t be sick. I wish you the best of luck.”

Gib hit back: “I hurt you with every shot. Right hook, straight, body shots, I hurt you with every, bro.
“You were suffering, you were suffering. Everybody was screaming for you, ‘What’s happening to him.’ You was suffering.”

Now, according to Happy Punch Promotion, the stakes have been raised by trying to involve boxing royalty.
They claim a tag-team match with Mayweather and KSI against Filipinos Pacquiao and Salt Papi is officially being discussed.
Salt Papi – a 3-0 influencer boxing star who shot to fame on TikTok – is promoted and managed by Happy Punch.
Mayweather, 46, beat Pacquiao, 44, in 2015 in the most lucrative fight of all time, grossing over £500million with 4.4m pay-per-views sold in America.

But even with the pair of legend still fighting in exhibition bouts, a rematch has always been evaded.
Mayweather has boxed in six exhibitions since officially retiring in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record following victory over UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
And he has faced two YouTube stars in Logan Paul and KSI’s brother Deji.
Mayweather most recently faced Geordie Shore’s Aaron Chalmers in February and has confirmed FIVE upcoming exhibitions.

It will start with a return on May 13 in London, before summer and end of year bouts against the likes of Paul or Fury.
KSI tweeted: “Fight May 13th – Misfits 007.
“Fight winner of Kingpyn Tournament – August 26th – Misfits 010 Fight Tommy fury/Jake Paul December 16th – Misfits 013.

KSI, 29, beat Paul’s brother Logan, 27, when they turned professional for their rematch in 2019, a year after drawing in an exhibition.
And after three years out to focus on a fledging rap career, he returned last August winning TWO fights in one night.
KSI then knocked out online rival Faze Temperrr, 29, in January and is now in talks to face millionaire-businessman turned 9-0 boxer Joe Fournier, 40.
The Londoner will then turn his attention to KingPyn’s eight-man winner-take-all boxing tournament, wanting to face the winner.

And then to top it off, KSI has voiced plans to challenge the winner of Paul, 26, and Fury, 23, set to rematch in the summer.
Paul was initially beaten by split-decision in February but has confirmed he wants to exercise his rematch clause.
The American was in line to settle his score with KSI this year but his first ever loss looks to have KO’d those plans.
And KSI added further doubt when he tweeted: “At this point, after I beat a pro boxer on May 13th, I’m gonna go straight for Tommy Fury.

The pair are now lined up for a rematch in the summer while Paul, 26, is also linked with a fight against Floyd Mayweather, 46.
KSI, 29, vented his frustrations online and threatened to walk away from the bitter grudge match altogether.

At that point, he was linked with a bout against Paul’s brother Jake, 26, who also recently lost against Tommy Fury, 23.
Paul himself has not fought since taking boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, 46, the distance in their June 2021 exhibition.
Before that, he drew to KSI, 29, in a similar non-sanctioned bout in 2018 but lost the rematch when they turned professional a year on.
The former rivals are now business partners following the successful launch of Prime.
Paul was meant to make his boxing return in January on KSI’s Misfits promotion but a knee injury while starring in the WWE ruled him out.
However, the American has confirmed he will fight again this year.
