According to Spanish outlet Cadena COPE, the Portuguese star has informed Al-Nassr chiefs that he wants to extend his contract until early 2027.

Ronaldo has so far not bettered the semi-final appearance his country made at his first World Cup.
The Al-Nassr skipper has earned a staggering 201 caps for Portugal, scoring 123 goals.
He helped his country win Euro 2016, but World Cup glory has so far eluded him, unlike his great rival Lionel Messi.
On whether winning a World Cup would take him ahead of Messi in the GOAT race, Ronaldo previously said: “Even if I win the World Cup that will continue.

“Some people like me more, some less. It’s like in life, some like blondes, some like brunettes.
“I have always had to show what I can do year after year. I would love to win this tournament.

“I’m ambitious but if you tell me I won’t win any more tournaments I would still be happy given all I have won.
“In the history books all other records will be there. But obviously a World Cup on the shelf wouldn’t be bad. It would be a dream.”
Ronaldo has had a blistering start to the season with Al-Nassr.
He has bagged ten goals in eight Saudi Pro League appearances, while also bagging his first Asian Champions League strike.
Ronaldo was dropped from previous Portugal boss Fernando Santos’ starting XI during the last World Cup, with Goncalo Ramos preferred.
He left the field in tears following his country’s shock exit at the hands of Morocco.
Since Santos’ exit Ronaldo has returned to prominence for his country, starting five of Roberto Martinez’s six games in charge.

The Three Lions then went out of the World Cup after losing the round of 16 clash 4-3 on penalties.
Beckham was heavily criticised for not keeping his cool and received a barrage of abuse, including an effigy of him being hung outside a pub.
In the new Netflix documentary “Beckham”, he reveals the backlash left him a “mess”.
Becks broke down in tears as he said: “I wish there was a pill you could take which could erase certain memories. I made a stupid mistake. It changed my life.

“We were in America [on holiday after the World Cup], just about to have our first baby, and I thought, ‘we will be fine. In a day or two people will have forgotten.’
“Wherever I went I got abused every single day.
“To walk down the street and to see people look at you in a certain way, spit at you, abuse you, come up to your face and say some of the things they said, that is difficult.
    “I wasn’t eating, I wasn’t sleeping. I was a mess. I didn’t know what to do.

“It brought a lot of attention that I would never wish on anyone, let alone my parents, and I can’t forgive myself for that.
“That is the tough part of what happened, because I was the one that made the mistake.
“When I have gone through difficult moments, I was able to block it out, but inside it killed me.”
His wife Victoria said it left Beckham, who was then just 23-years-old, “absolutely clinically depressed”.
She also said that she “still wants to kill people” who bullied and blamed him after the defeat.
On returning to play for Man Utd after World Cup heartbreak, Beckham revealed: “Any time I was kicked during that season, it was like the opposition had got two goals.
“As horrible as it was to look up to Victoria in the stand [getting abused], it was the one thing which spurred me on.”
Beckham, who went on to lift the Treble with United in the 1998/99 season, thanked manager Sir Alex Ferguson for the support he received.
He explained that Fergie called him after the incident to make sure he was okay.
Beckham said: “I think I got quite emotional on the phone to him and he said: ‘Son, go away for three weeks, go and rest. And when you come back, you’re going to get looked after here in Manchester.’
“And that was what got me through that particular season in all honesty, it ended up being a Treble-winning season.”
The United fans also helped Becks get through his tough time as he explained: “Every single game of that season was difficult, if I was playing away from home or at Old Trafford.

PSG hit back at Lionel Messi over claims they did not celebrate his World Cup success with Argentina

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has hit back at Lionel Messi’s claim that the club did not appropriately celebrate Argentina’s World Cup success.Messi, who left PSG for Inter Miami this summer, said he felt like the only player “who didn’t have recognition in his club” for his nation’s triumph in Qatar.

But Al-Khelaifi has refuted that accusation – and pointed out that PSG is French, whom Argentina defeated on penalties in the final.
The supremo said: “There’s a lot of talk outside, I don’t know what he did or didn’t say.
“As everyone saw – we even published a video – we celebrated Messi at training (when he won the World Cup), and we also recognized it privately.
“But with respect – we’re a French club. It was sensitive of course to celebrate at the stadium.

“We need to respect the country that he defeated – his French team mates, and our fans too. But he was, and is, an amazing player – we were proud to have him here.”
Messi’s exit was one of many from PSG this summer, with close pal Neymar also leaving for Saudi outfit Al-Hilal.
Talisman Kylian Mbappe did end up staying after a turbulent few months where it looked as if he would depart too.
The France superstar was dropped from the squad and put up for sale at one point, after refusing to sign a new deal with his current terms expiring next summer.

But he has since been reintegrated into the team and has eight goals in six games already this term.
Speaking about the 24-year-old, Al-Khelaifi added: “Any issues we had stay in the family and Kylian is family.
“I’m proud of what he – and all the squad – are doing. We have the best player in the world and for me he deserves the Ballon d’Or.”
PSG have dominated Ligue Un during Al-Khelafi’s tenure but a Champions League triumph still eludes them.
Luis Enrique, who won the competition with Barcelona, has been brought in to see a rebuild after Neymar and Messi’s exits.
And Al-Khelaifi insisted Europe’s elite club tournament is no longer the be-all and end-all for him and his club.
He said: “The Champions League is not at all an obsession – that is over. I said that at the first press conference with Luis Enrique.
“We are building a new identity; our own style, our own principles of how to play, an offensive play – and a new culture.
“That’s what we want – and then the results will follow. We are building a team that is really playing as a team – we want our players to enjoy playing, our staff to enjoy coaching, and for our fans to enjoy it when you watch.” More

Watch moment Celtic star Joe Hart gets completely shut down live on American TV as he takes sly dig at US soccer

JOE HART got more than he bargained for when he took a sly dig at US soccer in a live TV interview alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers. The pair of Hoops pals were seated alongside each other as they joined the Morning Footy show for CBS Golazo with host Alexis Guerreros.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Joe Hart were appearing live on CBS
Joe Hart couldn’t find the breakthrough against the USA
Guerreros asked USA international Carter-Vickers about the kind of questions he gets from fans in the UK about American soccer, saying: “CCV I have a question.
“What is the No1 question YOU get from these Europeans about playing in America, what is the No1 question about America and Joe Hart do you have any questions about America?”
Carter Vickers responded: “Obviously we have Alistair Johnston here now so I can direct all of the questions about the MLS to him, he knows a bit more than me.
“The team is a good group and there is a bit of banter flying about Ted Lasso but in the main it is all good.”

At that point, Hart chipped in, saying: “When do you dominate?
“Because obviously the US has such a strong history in sports – athletes, the size of the country, the way the colleges are set up to establish great athletes.
“It is time, right? Enough money has gone into it, enough energy has gone into it.
“I see players like Cameron, if he’s not starting, then the standard must be high.”

Quick as a flash, Guerreros answered, referencing the 0-0 draw with England during the World Cup, saying: “I think we did a pretty good job against England in the World Cup.”
Cue hilarity amongst the other panel members, with Hart briefly rendered speechless before replying: “Oh Alexis, that was a good chess move.”
