A crowd cheered as Gökçe theatrically fed him a slice of steak
The Turkish cook and Instagram star – real name Nusret Gökçe – was filmed grabbing Messi by the shoulder at least twice.
Messi tried to shrug him off before finally agreeing to pose for an awkward picture.
The chef’s own fans panned his attention seeking antics and his desperate attempt to get close to the world’s greatest footballer.
Last night Gökçe hit back with a new post to his 50million Instagram followers.

It is a video from their only known previous meeting in 2018 when Messi and his wife dined at Gökçe’s steakhouse in Dubai.
France ace Paul Pogba was also there and the chef made sure he got in between them for a photo.
Gökçe’s throwback video shows him shaking Messi’s hand and giving him a bear hug, then talking animatedly while wagging his finger at the Barcelona forward.
His self-promoting video was captioned simply: “The champion”.

Followers said it was “cringe” and accused him of a desperate attempt to prove he is pals with Messi after getting the cold shoulder days earlier.
    One said: “This is embarrassing.”
Another said: “He wanna prove that he wasn’t ghosted by Messi.”
A third said: “You can share as many pictures and videos with Messi as you want, that doesn’t change the fact that your behaviour after the match was totally wrong.”
Messi ate at Gökçe’s Dubai steakhouse with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and a pal in November 2018.
Another video from the time shows how they got the full VIP treatment.
After theatrically slicing their steak at the table, Salt Bae invited Messi to sprinkle salt over it, mimicking his trademark gesture.
Then other diners were heard cheering as the chef fed a slice of beef into Messi’s mouth using the tip of his knife.
The world’s greatest player seemed delighted by the encounter, which Salt Bae posted on Instagram.
Messi also posed for a picture with Gökçe and former Man Utd midfielder Paul Pogba, who dined there the same night.
At the time the two stars were on a break from international duty.
Another video showed them deep in conversation – sparking transfer speculation as Pogba urged Messi: “We have to play together”.
Gökçe has posted selfies with scores of footballers and other celebrities and has forged a friendship with Fifa boss Gianni Infantino.
The world governing body faces questions over why the celebrity chef was allowed on the pitch following embarrassing scenes at the showpiece final.
As well as badgering Messi, he was filmed muscling in on the Argentina squad’s celebrations and snatching the trophy from one winner’s baby.

Gökçe also pretended to do his trademark salt-sprinkling trick over the £17million gold trophy as irritated players stood by.
And boastful pics on his Insta page showed his kissing the trophy and holding it aloft like a champion.
The disgraceful spectacle reportedly broke Fifa’s rules, which say only former winners and heads of state can handle it.
BBC host Gary Lineker shared footage of his attention seeking antics, saying: “He’s such a pest.”
And former FA chairman Greg Dyke said: “I don’t think Fifa and Infantino have come out of this very well.”
Fifa has reportedly refused to say if Salt Bae was granted access to the pitch.
It did not respond to The Sun Online’s request for comment.
If he was given “access all areas” accreditation, that would open the governing body to allegations of cronyism or special treatment for Infantino’s friends, reports The Times.

Other VIP guests at the final included Twitter billionaire Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
And French president Emmanuel Macron was slated for his embarrassing attempts to console losing hattrick hero Kylian Mbappe.

Fifa delete TWO tweets after Cristiano Ronaldo fan uproar as they appear to label Messi goat and troll Portugal ace

FIFA have deleted TWO tweets following a huge backlash from Cristiano Ronaldo’s fervent fanbase.Ronaldo endured a disappointing tournament in Qatar, scoring just once from the penalty spot before being dropped to the bench.

His great rival Lionel Messi, meanwhile, scored seven goals and laid on three assists on the way to winning the tournament and the Golden Ball.
The 35-year-old’s exploits effectively ended the GOAT debate for many fans, and Fifa’s official World Cup Twitter account tweeted a message to that effect.
They wrote: “The GOAT debate is settled. The ultimate prize is now part of the collection.
“On the day @Argentina won their third #FIFAWorldCup, Leo Messi is your @Budweiser Player of the Match.”

The tweet seemed to upset some Ronaldo fan accounts, and has still been gaining traction even since it has been deleted.
One wrote: “A professional account of the biggest football organisation in the world.
“It has always been Ronaldo vs the rigged system.”
    A second huffed: “Very unprofessional.”

And a third moaned: “It’s everyone against him.”
Fifa deleted a further innocuous tweet.
They posted a picture of Ronaldo smiling and raising his thumb, with the caption: “Thumbs up if you really enjoyed the #FIFAWorldCup.”
Some fans took the tweet to be insulting to the 37-year-old, who had a miserable tournament.
One wrote: “Fifa mocking Ronaldo. They have now deleted this tweet.”
Another bizarrely claimed: “The favouritism displayed by Fifa in that now-deleted tweet further corroborates our assumption of a rigged system against Ronaldo all along.”
Ronaldo’s tournament ended at the quarter-final stage, when Portugal lost 1-0 to Morocco.
He was brought on in the 51st minute, but was unable to make an impact.
After the match he left the field in tears, after seeming to realise that his World Cup dream had slipped away.

Gary Neville slapped with hundreds of Ofcom complaints after ‘political’ rant over nurse strikes

GARY Neville has been hit with 605 Ofcom complaints after a political rant during the World Cup final. The football pundit, 47, was blasted for comparing strikers’ working conditions in Britain to migrant workers in Qatar.

On Monday it was reported that telly regulator Ofcom had asked ITV bosses to explain the tirade during the run-up to Argentina’s clash with France.
And a spokesman added today: “We are assessing this content as a priority and have asked ITV provide us with details about the broadcast to inform that work”.
Neville has refused to apologise for the rant, where he attacked the UK government for “demonising” striking nurses.
He slammed the World Cup host nation for its “abhorrent” treatment of workers, and said people should “detest poor accommodation and working conditions.”

He continued: “We can never accept that in this region or any other region and it is just worth mentioning we’ve got a current government in our country that are demonising rail workers, ambulance workers and terrifyingly nurses.
“We can’t have people being paid an absolute pittance to work, we can’t have people in accommodation that is unsavoury and disgusting. It shouldn’t happen here.
“That shouldn’t happen here with the wealth that exists.
“But it shouldn’t happen with the nurses in our country either where our nurses are having to fight for an extra pound or two pounds.”

But Harry Redknapp said his speech was “completely ridiculous”.
And former-Three Lions player Danny Mills also slated the rant.
Asked on GB News if Neville should have made the speech, he said: “I don’t think so.
“You have a platform as a pundit, as a person on telly, you clearly have opinions, but there are people better read, better versed to understand all the situations in this.
“We saw it at the start of the World Cup with the BBC not putting not showing the opening ceremony on the main channel. And then a bit of a monologue from Gary Lineker.
“It’s OK to have opinions, but if you want to do that, do it on your own social media channels because I think you have more influence.”
Today it was revealed that staff at his own luxury hotel are on minimum wage.

Gary Neville blasted as staff at his luxury hotel are paid minimum wage after he slammed government over nurse pay

GARY Neville has been blasted after it was revealed staff at his luxury hotel are on minimum wage. The football pundit’s Stock Exchange Hotel is recruiting full-time waiters and waitresses for £9.50 an hour and bartenders for £9.50-11.
Gary Neville was slammed for launching into political rant during coverage of the World Cup finalCredit: ITV
He has previously admitted to being a ‘champagne socialist’
It comes after Neville, 47, used ITV’s World Cup broadcast on Sunday to accuse the Government of paying nurses “an absolute pittance”.
The minimum wage waiters and waitresses at his restaurant would be earning £19,600 a year for a 40-hour week. Nurses typically earn around £34,000 on average.
The waiter/waitress ad at his luxury hotel in Manchester reads: “We are looking for talented Waiters who have a passion for delivering an exceptional guest experience and a desire to learn and grow within our team.”
It demands previous relevant experience and says experience at a luxury five-star hotel would be a distinct advantage to candidates.

They are also expected to have “exceptional service standards and attention to detail” and to “provide the highest level of service to guests at all times”.
Conservative MP Lee Anderson told the Daily Mail: “It would appear staff within his hotel are working for a lot less than the public sector workers he claims are struggling to make ends meet.
“This multi-millionaire needs to shut up.
“When we want to watch the football World Cup, guess what we want to do, we want to watch football and chat about football.

“So please keep your opinions off the football channels when you’re talking and commentating.”
Last week it emerged that former staff felt “overworked and underappreciated” at a separate hotel.
In a scathing review on job site Indeed, one worker said: “If you love being overworked and underappreciated then you’ve found you calling.
“Typically understaffed and overworked. Training is non existent.
“Always work over my contracted hours and never get overtime pay, I was told to take time in lieu but that’s impossible when they are no staff to cover that.
“Management only interested in turning a profit and don’t really care how they achieve this.
“I wouldn’t recommend working here right now as I know for a fact that most of the key staff are looking to move on due to the conditions.”
Another ex-waitress gave the hotel just two stars as she vented on the employee forum Glassdoor.
She branded the working situation as “unfair” and said there were “no pros from my personal experience.”
“I didn’t feel welcome in the team and management was not treating everybody equally,” she added.
And despite Neville hijacking ITV’s coverage to attack poor working conditions, one former hotel staffer blasted his business as “greedy”.

“Senior management is more concerned about cutting costs rather than generating money, providing a good service and good working conditions,” they added.
Neville’s World Cup rant has since caused hundreds of complaints and Harry Radknapp called it “completely ridiculous”. More

According to El Financiero newspaper, officials at the South American country’s financial governing body are looking at options to mark their nation’s historic World Cup triumph.
Having a snap of Messi’s mug on the grand bill is said to be a preferred option as the figure begins with a “10” – the shirt number worn by the GOAT.
And on the back of the proposed bit of dosh it has been suggested that “La Scaloneta” – the nickname of Argentine boss Lionel Scaloni – will be inscribed.
This will be to honour his feats of winning the 2021 Copa America, the Finalissima against Euros champions Italy and victory in Qatar.
