But Harry Kane’s wife Katie Goodland got the chance to see her man hit the back of the net.
The Spurs striker buried his chance to put Gareth Southgate’s team two goals up.
The Three Lions broke the deadlock on 38 minutes as Jordan Henderson lifted the country.

Jude Bellingham worked it down the flank before squaring in the box for Henderson to slam home after a gut-busting run.
And things got even better in first-half injury-time when Kane smashed home his first goal of the tournament after a beautiful counter-attack.
Saka then added a third in the second period as partner Tolami Benson watched on.
Jack Grealish came off the bench shortly afterward much to his girlfriend’s pleasure.
Attwood is a model and other half of the popular Manchester City and England star.

The ground took a while to fill prior to kick off and seats remained vacant well after kick-off.
One dismayed fan took to Twitter to say: “So many empty seats for last 16 games of a World Cup game, shambles.”
Another added: “The empty seats at big games between countries with large followings doesn’t look like successful hosting to me.”
And a third said: “Empty seats everywhere 🤢.”

And those who failed to turn up missed as England masterclass as goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka sealed a 3-0 win against Senegal.
Southgate’s troops face France in the quarter-finals.
It is not the first time large sections of empty seats have been spotted at World Cup games.
The World Cup opener between Qatar and Ecuador suffered from a lack of interest, with thousands of Qataris leaving at half-time with their side 2-0 down.

Yet the stadium announcer revealed the attendance was 67, 372, despite the Al Bayt Stadium only holding 60,000.
And the official attendance for England’s win over Senegal in the same arena was bizarrely given as 65,985.
The Three Lions breezed to a 3-0 win over the African champions thanks to goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.
It means Gareth Southgate’s side have set up a mouth-watering quarter-final clash with reigning world champions France.
The first four games of the tournament all had official attendance figures higher than the capacity of the stadia in which they were held.
Fan were left baffled when the England vs Iran attendance was announced as 45,334 in a 40,000 capacity ground.
More questions began to be asked when it was claimed Senegal vs Netherlands had an attendance of 41,721 – again in a 40,000 seat stadium.
To make matters worse at the end of USA vs Wales, where empty seats were clearly visible on TV, an attendance of 43,418 was given. More

But the officials did not pick up on it until just a few minutes before the end of the first half.
When it was eventually flagged to them in the 42nd minute, referee Valenzuela Saez ordered him to take it off.
The Barcelona man proceeded to do so with the help of one of the French coaching staff.
But France boss Deschamps was not happy with his player during the post-match press conference.

When asked about the matter, he said: “He has no right. I don’t know what he has on his chain, I know that Jules has a bit of a superstition, he has it in training.
“I don’t know the meaning. I even told him – ‘You’re lucky you’re not in front of me, or else…’.
“The referee had told us that as soon as there was a stoppage in play… players are not allowed to wear a bracelet or a necklace. They’re not going to start wearing watches or sunglasses either.
“It’s not allowed. I thought he was taking it off but apparently that wasn’t the case.”

Kounde’s necklace removal came after a drab 40 minutes from France as Poland stifled them and had chances of their own.
But shortly before the break the reigning world champions did find a way through.
And it was a record-breaking goal to boot as Olivier Giroud became his country’s all-time top scorer.
The ex-Arsenal and Chelsea man now has an international tally of 52, one more than fellow former Gunners star Thierry Henry.
Kylian Mbappe then bagged a second half brace before Poland managed a consolation as Robert Lewandowski converted a late penalty.
France’s victory sealed their place in the last-eight of the World Cup for a third successive time.
If they do retain the trophy, they will become just the third team to do so after Italy and Brazil.
And they would be the first to do so since Pele and Co achieved the feat in 1962.
Deschamps men are scheduled to meet England in the quarter-finals if Gareth Southgate’s side can beat Senegal on Sunday evening. More
