Spain hammered Germany 7-0 in their opening game
However their opponents’ need for a victory is far greater than theirs.
This clash was expected to decide top spot in the group, but following an opening defeat Germany would be delighted just to get through.

SunSport takes a look at what to expect from Spain vs Germany, including our score prediction.

Germany: The Germans are staring down the barrel at a second straight World Cup group stage exit.
They were beaten 2-1 by Japan and will be effectively eliminated if the Japanese manage a better result against Costa Rica than they get against Luis Enrique’s side.

    Any injuries to worry about?
Spain: Spain’s camp was hit by a virus after their win over Costa Rica, affecting a number of players including goalscorer Alvaro Morata.
However, it is not expected to keep any of Luis Enrique’s players out of the clash with the Germans.
Germany: Leroy Sane was hit by a knee injury in the build-up to Germany’s defeat to Japan.
He is touch and go for the Spain game and could face the grim prospect of his country being knocked out before he’s kicked a ball.
Who will be the star men?
Spain: The whole team excelled during Spain’s hammering of Costa Rica, but one man in particular stood out.
Kopa Trophy winner Gavi was at the heart of everything Spain did, with the Barcelona wonderkid already looking like having a breakthrough tournament.
Germany: Jamal Musiala was good in spells despite Germany going down 2-1 to Japan.
German fans will be hoping the former England U21 star can cause havoc on the wing as Hansi Flick’s men look to make the most of what little possession they get.

Croatia vs Canada – World Cup Group F: How they’re doing , injuries, predictions with both sides needing to win

CROATIA look to better the performance of their opener which saw them play out a goalless draw to Morocco. The Vatreni surprised the world in 2018, making their way to the final in Russia.

How Croatia lined up against Morocco
However their campaign this year got off to a slow start as they were held to a draw by Morocco.
With big boys of the group Belgium still to play, Croatia will be looking to this game against Canada for three points to give them the best chance of making it to the knockout stages.
Meanwhile the North American side have already given a good account of themselves thus far but unfortunately have nothing to show for it.
SunSport takes a look ahead to the game with a preview and a scoreline prediction.

    How are they getting on?
Croatia: Played out a lifeless draw against African side Morocco, leaving little to be desired from the Croats.
Despite having the talent up top to do so, they struggled to break down the strong defensive block they faced.

Canada: In a complete contrast to Croatia, the Maple Leafs were much the better side against Belgium yet were unable to get the ball past the menacing figure of Thibaut Courtois.

    Any injuries to worry about?
Croatia: Torino’s Nikola Vlasic looks unlikely to feature after coming off at half time against Morocco due to a calf injury.
Other than that Zlatko Dalic has a fully fit side but could make some changes, especially to the frontline who failed to impress in the opening game.
Canada: All 26 players selected for the Canadians are fit to play leaving Herdman with plenty of options.
After a strong showing against Belgium however, it will be likely we see little to no changes to the side.
Who will be the star men?
Croatia: The 2018 Ballon D’or winner, Luka Modric, has always undoubtedly been the main attraction for the European outfit, controlling the play in the strong midfield three that also contains Mateo Kovacic and Marcelo Brozovic.
Another player to keep an eye on is 20-year-old centre back Josko Gvardiol. The RB Leipzig defender has shown what quality he has this season and Croatia will be relying on him to solidify that back line.
Canada: The face of Canadian football Alphonso Davies proved his worth against Belgium, constantly making runs in behind and looking to create chances.
Lille striker Jonathan David will be looking to continue his goal scoring form for club this season, scoring nine goals before heading to Qatar.

    Any injuries to worry about?

However the Inter Milan striker could face competition from fellow striker Batshuayi after netting in the previous game.
Morocco: Star man Achraf Hakimi could miss out due to suffering a thigh injury against Croatia.
Regragui’s problems worsen as potential replacement for Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui was stretchered off in their opener due to a hip injury.
Who will be the star men?
Belgium: Man of the match winner in their previous game, Kevin De Bruyne, will be the man most likely to create something for Belgium.
Although he was critical of his performance against Canada, his passing ability could hold the key to unlocking the defence of Morocco.
Morocco: With their star man Hakimi set to miss out on the match, Moroccan eyes will be on Hakim Ziyech for a moment of magic.

Japan vs Costa Rica – World Cup Group E: How they’re doing, injuries and prediction as Japanese look to qualify

JAPAN are looking to book a place in the World Cup knockout stages against all odds as they take on Costa Rica.Few would have given the Japanese any chance of progressing to the last 16 when the draw paired them with big-hitters Spain and Germany.

Japan were 2-1 winners over Germany
But following one of the great World Cup shocks, they are now in a position to progress with a game to spare.
Samurai Blue will be heavy favourites to beat Costa Rica, who already look like they need a miracle to go through.
Indeed, for the Central Americans, a result here is vital.

    Any injuries to worry about?
Japan: Japan have a clean bill of health as they look to book their place in the last 16.
But following the success of manager Hajime Moriyasu’s five substitutions in the second half against Germany he may well be tempted to shuffle the pack.
Costa Rica: In a small silver lining from their hammering against Spain, Costa Rica have no fresh injury concerns.
However, it would be difficult to claim any of Luis Fernando Suarez’s starting XI wrote their name automatically onto the team sheet with that performance. Keylor Navas is a dead cert to start in goal though.
Who will be the star men?
Japan: Former Arsenal striker Takuma Asano started on the bench against Germany.
But after his winning goal in that game, he may well be favoured for a full 90 minutes.
Gunners’ defender Takehiro Tomiyasu was also an assured presence at the back after coming on against the Germans and could start here.
Costa Rica: If the Ticos play as badly as they did against Spain then Keylor Navas will need to be in top form.
There is always an element of expectation around former Arsenal winger Joel Campbell but he will have to offer a lot more than he did on Wednesday.

The teams last met in September 2018 with Japan running out 3-0 winners in Suita.

Gary Neville SLAMS Lionel Messi’s body language as he compares Argentina legend to moody Cristiano Ronaldo at Man Utd

GARY NEVILLE slammed Lionel Messi as he compared the superstar to ex-Manchester United strop Cristiano Ronaldo. The Argentine magician, 35, had the last laugh though as he rescued his country with a magical strike to beat Mexico 2-0 and remain in the World Cup.

Messi’s long-range drive in the second half revived Argentina’s Qatar hopes following their shock loss to Saudi Arabia.
But the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, and his team-mates, had been lacklustre again in the first 45 minutes.
And, at the break, former Prem star and now pundit Neville told ITV viewers that watching Messi reminded him of Ronaldo’s recent demise at United.
The 47-year-old said: “Players aren’t fearful of Lionel Messi anymore. They are taking the ball off him easily.

“You can’t speak enough about how great this guy is.
“But honestly the devastation. I’ve seen at Old Trafford for 18 months, when a player of such stature has that body language, the impact it has on the players is devastating.
“He’s walking around the pitch, he’s shrugging his shoulders at them.”
Neville did change his tune at full-time after Messi went some way to proving him wrong.

There seemed little danger when on 64 minutes Angel Di Maria laid the ball inside to Messi, who for once had a little room to breathe out of the clutches of Mexico’s suffocating defence.
His first touch with that wand of a left foot teed up the ball. His second sent it arrowing across keeper Guillermo Ochoa and into the corner.
The blue-and-white hordes behind the goal exploded in joy, releasing the tension that had been growing since that opening defeat against the Saudis.
And Neville ate some humble pie after the game – admitting Messi is still the same player “in moments”.

He added: “It’s a finish we have seen so many times from him, the thing that separates these great players is the precision in their finish.
“Messi to be fair, it’s moments now, he gets that space, and stands still. The power, the accuracy is wonderful.” More
