Bronze becomes latest international ace to leave Manchester City after Stanway, Scott and Weir

ENGLAND’S Lucy Bronze has become the latest player to join an exodus of some of Manchester City’s senior international stars.The full-back, 30, leaves the Citizens this summer along with fellow Lionesses Jill Scott and Georgia Stanway and Scotland’s Caroline Weir.

The announcement follows speculation concerning the Sunderland-born player’s future.
This month Telegraph Sport reported the defender as being keen on a possible switch to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States.
Such a move could see the player return to the country for the first time since playing for North Carolina Tar Heels in 2009.
The announcement of Bronze’s summer departure comes just over a month after Janine Beckie revealed her plans to return to the NWSL.

CAROLINE WEIR said goodbye to Manchester City fans following confirmation of her departure from the league cup holders.The Scotland forward, who is reportedly a Real Madrid target, will leave the WSL side along with shot-stopper Karima Taieb.

The club say the duo will depart when their Citizens contracts expire ahead of next season.
Weir, 26, who moved to the Academy Stadium from Liverpool in June 2018, paid tribute to City and the fans.
The forward has been heavily linked with Spanish giants Madrid with Edinburgh Evening News claiming the player looks set to complete a move.
In a farewell post shared via her official Twitter account, the playmaker said: “It has been an honour to represent Man City for four great years.

EMMA HAYES has scooped the FA WSL Manager of the Season prize after leading Chelsea to their third successive title in the division.And Blues striker Sam Kerr, 28, clinched the player’s award after finishing as the league’s top scorer.

Hayes, 45, led her Kingsmeadow side to a trophy double by winning the FA Cup as well as the WSL title.

PSG Women’s boss suspended following ‘inappropriate behaviour allegations’

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have suspended their women’s team manager Didier Olle-Nicole following accusations of improper behaviour. Players from the team were allegedly exposed to ‘inappropriate actions and comments’, according to an official club statement.

Olle-Nicole, 61, took up the reins at PSG in July 2021 after managing French third-tier men’s side Le Mans for one season.
The French outfit, who reached the semi-finals of last term’s Women’s Champions League, are second in France’s top division behind Lyon.
On Tuesday evening the club announced the suspension of Olle-Nicole in a notice published on its website.
And PSG revealed they had been made aware of the women’s team members being subjected to ‘inappropriate remarks’

THE PREMIER LEAGUE will pour £1million per season into plans to boost the third and fourth tiers of the women’s game over the next three years.The financial backing was revealed by the FA as part of a strategy to ramp up infrastructure and player development in the divisions.

The Football Association’s efforts will focus on eight areas identified as priorities for the game in the two tiers below the WSL and the Women’s Championship.
These include improving the playing and training environment for footballers, boosting refereeing standards and bringing in more commercial backers.
And Prem chiefs say additional backing in the form of grants to renovate grounds will be available via the Premier League Stadium Fund
Eligible clubs can apply for funds for up to £20,000 to refurb stadium facilities in need of a revamp.

ALEXIA Putellas has been named the Women’s Champions League Player of the Season by a Uefa panel.The Barcelona skipper, 28, whose side were defeated by Lyon in this year’s final, won the award after finishing as the contest’s top scorer this term.

Wolves boss McNamara to miss his team’s Women’s Championship play-off vs Southampton as he’s on SECRET RAF mission

WOLVES women’s boss Daniel McNamara will miss their play-off clash with Southampton as he is on a SECRET RAF mission.McNamara, 35, who is an RAF aircraft technician, is currently away on a four-month overseas mission.

This means he will not be in his usual spot in the dugout when his team play Southampton at Stockport County’s Edgeley Park home on Saturday.
The Wolves boss – who steered his side to the National League Northern Premier Division title – will instead have to be follow his side from an undisclosed location.
McNamara’s air force duties already saw him miss his side’s 4-1 defeat of West Brom in the Birmingham County Cup final earlier this month.
And RAF corporal insists his high-fliers will be ready for their pivotal duel, even in his absence.

McNamara told the Telegraph: “Anyone that knows me knows it’s hurting me, these last two weeks, missing the County Cup final hurts, and Saturday will be no different.
“But the players are ready, the staff are ready.
“They’ve proved already that they don’t need me – the culture runs itself, the environment we have.
“The girls are ready. As much as it hurts me, it’s not about me anymore. I’m not Wolves Women. It’s those 23 girls.”

“As it got closer, as we tightened that grip on our title, I became more emotive and the girls started to notice and I had to share it with them.
“The Air Force has given me so much over the years, I’m a proud serviceman, and that will always be the case for the rest of my time in the military.
“(The timing) is devastating, that’s the word that sums it up, but it’s my role at the minute and I do it proudly until I’m back in the country.”

And McNamara told BBC Sport: “Seeing the success the girls have had the last two weeks is really tough to watch because I want to be there, sharing those moments with them.
“That’s why Saturday will be one of the most difficult days of my life.”

Gunners chief Eidevall, 39, said: “The backing we received both at Meadow Park and Emirates Stadium (last season) was unbelievable.
