Other coaching and backroom staff who the individual came into contact during the previous week are also self-isolating in line with government guidelines.
A statement by the Seagulls read: “Any areas around the club the individual has been in contact with will only be reopened once they have been deep cleaned and fully fogged.
“The players within the women’s squad will continue to be tested in line with The FA’s testing regime with additional safety measures and mitigation in place.
“The squad will resume training in line with The FA and government guidelines.”

The South Coasters are still set to host Aston Villa on Sunday as normal.
Wednesday’s postponement came after wind damage saw Everton and Manchester United’s game also called off earlier.
Red Devils boss Casey Stoney was left “extremely frustrated” after being given less than 24-hours notice by the Toffees.

The duo were covering Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Rennes in the Champions League.
On a video posted to CBS Sports’ Twitter account, Carragher says to Scott: “Remember those days?”
Scott jokingly hit back, saying: “Jamie couldn’t even name top five women’s players so don’t tell me you watched me play!”
Carragher replied: “I’ve got the number one – Mia Hamm.”

In another clip posted later that evening, the former Liverpool defender goes onto compare Chelsea right-back Reece James to Lionesses star Lucy Bronze in a bid to win Scott over.
He said: “When he got down the side and put that cross in it just reminded me of Lucy Bronze at her best when she was playing right-back.
“Christie Rampone as well and Brandi Chastain as well, these women footballers were very similar when he struck that ball in.
“Wendie Renard. My favourite centre-back is actually Kadeisha Buchanan.”

Scott replies: “Canadian centre-back, I’m impressed, we’re mates again now.”

West Ham’s Gilly Flaherty surprises mum battling breast cancer with Michail Antonio signed vest

A LIFE-LONG West Ham fan battling breast cancer has told of her joy at getting a surprise visit from Hammers skipper Gilly Flaherty.
Siobhan McKeon, who was diagnosed with an incurable form of the disease, was stunned to be presented with a club shirt signed by Hammers frontman Michail Antonio.

Siobhan, who lives in Romford, was told she had Stage 4 secondary breast cancer in April 2016.
This year the upbeat mother-of-two is attempting to complete a mammoth 22-mile fundraising swim for charity.
And on a fundraising site the East London mum – who has lost a close friend to the disease – revealed the condition had spread into her bones and other parts of her body.

Irons fan Siobhan McKeon (centre) is undertaking a fundraising swim for Breast Cancer Now
Tragically this means the Irons season-ticket holder will never be cured.

Siobhan wrote on her GoFundMe page: “I have been receiving chemotherapy to control and contain my cancer from spreading further into my organs and so far, thank God, my treatment has been working.
“I have decided to swim the same distance as crossing the English Channel (22miles) to raise funds for future research to hopefully one day find a cure.
“I have been swimming most mornings, averaging 45 lengths each session.
“This will be a tough challenge between chemotherapy sessions but I know I’m determined and strong enough for the challenge.”

On the day the ardent Irons fan was due to receive a limited edition club shirt she won via competition, she was expecting her prize to arrive by postal delivery.
However, Siobhan was stunned to see Hammers skipper Flaherty, 29, whose team play Reading in a Continental Cup group game tonight, show up at her home with the vest and gifts for her sons.
The Romford mum told West Ham’s official TV channel: “I honestly couldn’t believe it. I wasn’t expecting it at all.
“I was really shocked when I opened the door. I couldn’t believe it when Gilly responded to me on Twitter anyway and this is just extra special because West Ham means everything to us.
“Our whole life revolves around West Ham. I am really touched.”

This week Siobhan revealed she is just under three miles away from completing her fundraising swim.
However, with gyms and leisure centres to close from Thursday, the Romford mother has vowed to complete her attempt when the country emerges from lockdown.
And Flaherty praised the Irons fan whose efforts she believes helps to put life into perspective.

    — Siobhan McKeon (@mckeon_siobhan) October 18, 2020

Flaherty told West Ham TV: “It’s so heart-warming to meet Siobhan.
“With what she’s going through, it’s amazing to be able to come and do something for someone like her. It puts things into perspective.
“With what she’s going through, for her to go out there and be thinking of others with her swimming when, if it was the other way around, someone else might not think of doing that.

“Her attitude is to go and raise some money. It’s brilliant and she’s a lovely woman.”
This week The Sun reported that one in two women in the UK could be missing deadly signs of breast cancer because they don’t check their boobs for lumps or swellings on a regular basis.
This is according to figures shared by Breast Cancer Now, a charity Siobhan has raised more than £2,300 for so far.

Sky Sports set to seal WSL broadcasting rights from rivals BT Sport with deal to be announced in coming weeks

SKY SPORTS are set to nick the Women’s Super League broadcasting rights from rivals BT Sport – with a deal to be announced in the coming weeks.
The broadcaster is said to be on the brink of sealing a contract that kick-starts from the beginning of the 2021-22 season.

Sky Sports are on the brink sealing broadcasting rights for the 2021-22 WSL season

The new deal is yet to be confirmed but SunSport understands that an announcement will be made soon.
For the first time ever, the FA made fixtures available for tenure for the next campaign in a bid to rake in more profit for the women’s game.
This is opposed to previous years in which they were provided for free to the likes of BT Sport and the BBC to cover at their own cost.
It is believed that Sky Sports were attracted to the women’s top-flight after viewing figures in England more than doubled since 2017.

A peak TV audience of 270,000 tuned in to watch Chelsea face off with Spurs in September last year.

And more than two million people tuned in to watch the BBC’s Women’s Football Show after football returned after the coronavirus crisis.
Arsenal snatched the North London bragging rights in front of a record WSL crowd of 38,262 last year at the Tottenham Stadium.
The attendance far outstripped the previous record of 31,213 set at the Etihad for the Manchester derby at the start of the same season.

Man Ud’s Jess Sigsworth urges fans to keep ‘heads-up’ ahead of lockdown and Continental Cup clash with Everton

JESS SIGSWORTH has talked of how much she misses playing in front of Manchester United’s boisterous supporters ahead of the team’s Continental Cup clash against Everton.

The FA confirmed football in the top two tiers of the men’s and women’s game will continue under ‘the elite sport guidance and protocols’ of football’s ruling body.
This includes the Continental League Cup competition which Manchester United hope to win for the first time in the side’s history.
It has been almost nine months since the team played in front of spectators.

Their last competitive game in front of crowds was a 3-2 WSL away match win against Everton.

Ahead of Wednesday’s game Sigsworth, 26, said: “We know our fans are at home supporting us, and we really appreciate it.
“Hopefully it (lockdown) won’t last too long and things will start to get better.
“Everyone needs to keep their head up and hopefully we’ll see them in the stands again soon.”
Casey Stoney’s United will take on a Toffees side eager to bounce back from their 3-1 Women’s FA Cup final loss to Manchester City on Sunday.

And although wary of Everton’s quality Sigsworth, who signed a new club contract in June, is confident her team has the ability to overcome Willie Kirk’s tenacious Toffees.
The United forward added: “They’re a great team now. Willie Kirk has got them in good shape, and they look good, so we’re not taking anything for granted.
“We are wary of them and we know they can bounce back, but we believe in our own ability.
“We know if we stick to the game plan, we can beat anyone.
“I think it’s going to be a good game and we’re confident, so hopefully, we will get the win again.”
Sigsworth and her team-mates, who are currently unbeaten and third in the league, are set for a tantalising WSL encounter this Sunday.

Sigsworth said: “I look back to last season and when we started we played Arsenal and they beat us 1-0.
“I feel like we’re in better shape now. We’ve made some great signings and we’re looking forward to competing with teams like Arsenal.”

Ruth Fox reveals BT Sport’s Ultimate Goal with stars like Rio Ferdinand changed her life after battling depression

AS Ruth Fox packed her bags to embark on a once in a lifetime opportunity at St George’s Park, she remembered that her last trip away from home had been as an inpatient in a mental health unit.
Fox was a football whizkid at school and showed up all the boys – but at age 14 she was diagnosed with depression and eventually quit the sport altogether.

Ruth Fox is one of the inspiring 31 women to take part in BT Sport’s Ultimate Goal

Fox says the academy was ‘life-changing’ having battled with mental health since she was 14-years-old

Fox scored a worldie in training on her first day at St George’s Park

Cracks in the relationship with her father began to form, before she nearly took her own life in 2017.
Exactly a year ago, the Bedfordshire-born 21-year-old was still unsafe, self-harming and overdosing every day during one of the darkest periods in her life.
But it was football that saved her.
And this year, she became involved with BT’s ‘life changing’ new Ultimate Goal reality series.

Fox is one of the inspiring 31 women to take part under the guidance of expert coaches and legends from both the men’s and women’s game.
The St Ives footballer bravely told SunSport: “Last year, I was an inpatient three times in a mental health unit.
“I could barely get on the pitch. I was unsafe for the majority of the season.
“My manager would literally have to ask me every Sunday morning, ‘are you safe?’

“And if I couldn’t answer, if I couldn’t say yes, then he couldn’t play me.”
Former England icons Eni Aluko and Rachel Brown-Finnis, as well as ex-Spurs aces Mollie and Rosie Kmita were at the helm of the Ultimate Goal Academy.

The Ultimate Goal Academy is managed by Eni Aluko, Rachel Brown-Finnis, and assistants, former Spurs aces, Mollie and Rosie Kmita

The first episode of the series airs tonight and Fox believes the unique experience has truly changed her life forever.
She continued: “There was just this moment when I was talking to Molly and we were walking around the pitch at St George’s Park.
“We were just having a chat and it’s that moment that really made me think how far I had come.
“Knowing that I was in a place where literally like to the day a year before, I was unsafe every day, self-harming and overdosing to cope with my emotions.
“For me football is more than just a kickabout with my mates down the park, it is my lifeline and it truly helped me through my darkest days.”
Ruth admits it is difficult to cast a glance back to the raw snippets of some of the most traumatic years in her life.
Every 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage – which is why Fox feels proud to tell her story on national TV.
The midfielder added: “For me, it’s about impacting that one person and that was a big reason for doing the show.
“If I can offer hope to someone else and stop them from going through what I went through then my job is done. It makes me immensely proud.
“I wish that as a 14-year-old kid and had been able to just sit down and watch TV and think, ‘Oh my goodness there’s someone that’s in exactly the same position as me’.”

The series oozes football pedigree, with the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Fara Williams, Freddie Ljungberg, Jill Scott, Peter Crouch and Robin Van Persie making appearances.
The superstars offer the players the benefit of their experience and expertise in unique masterclasses.
Fox grew up wearing an England shirt with Ferdinand’s face on, and it was the Manchester United legend who left a big impression on her in the series.
She said: “We were just doing a normal session on defending.
“I wasn’t expecting anything more than that, I was enjoying the session, and then a black van pulled up.
“The door opens and then a massive figure jumped out the van, I was like ‘wow he’s really tall’.
“He had this crisp white shirt on that was impossibly white. It must have been new, you can’t wash a shirt that white!
“Seeing him train everyone was amazing. Growing up watching football, I used to have this England shirt with his face on.
“I just relaxed and forgot about the pressure and the cameras I really gained a lot from his session in terms of confidence.
“He gave us one piece of advice which was, ‘never make the same mistake twice’.
“I think that’s really valuable in accepting that we do mistakes on the pitch and in life. Its’ what we do from them.
“He is an influential male figure who has really opened up about his emotions and what he has been through, it’s truly inspiring.”

Fox is a midfielder for St Ives women’s side

Fox with her dad, Andrew, who is also her biggest supporter
Fox reckons the Ultimate Goal experience not only changed her life, but her family too.
The relationship with her father became strained when she gave up football, and the pair have been trying to patch things up for the last seven years.
The student recalls: “My dad has always been my biggest supporter but when I quit football our relationship broke down.
“It was the hardest thing for me because  football was what we had in common, and then suddenly the thing that held us together wasn’t there anymore.
“Although I started playing football again our relationship was never really the same and I was quite hostile with him.
“At times he struggled to support me with my mental health because he had never been through anything like it.
“Me being in hospital was so difficult for him.
“So to tell him, I had got this amazing opportunity to train at St Georges’ Park with amazing coaches and ex-players, was a real moment for me and my family.”
Fox still plays a key role for St Ives women’s side, while enjoying life at the University of Bedfordshire.
She said: “Happiness feels like the most amazing thing now because I’ve been trapped in the dark for so long.
“I’m constantly working on it through therapy in football and through all different aspects of my life.
“I’m much further along the journey than I’ve ever been.”
Watch the first episode of Ultimate Goal on Tuesday November 3, at 10.30pm on BT Sport 3. Ultimate Goal builds on BT’s commitment, as part of its partnership with each of the four UK “Home Nations” Football Associations, to inspire a new generation of girls and women to participate in football.
