      England Lionesses goalkeeper Mary Earps’ shirts sell out hours after going on sale – and now fetching huge sums on eBay

      NIKE finally released Mary Earps England shirts on Monday – only for them to sell out in a matter of hours.Earps, 30, was left “hugely disappointed” ahead of this summer’s Women’s World Cup after the sportswear company failed to put any goalkeeper shirts on sale.

      Some sold for double the retail price on eBay
      The Manchester United star also revealed that she had been “fighting behind closed doors” and “trying to go through the correct channels” in a bid to find a solution.
      Nike initially decided against selling the shirts, but they made a U-turn in August and announced that a limited quantity would be released.
      And on Monday morning, exactly 50 days after the World Cup final, they were finally put on sale.
      Three colour options – pink, green and yellow – were available to fans with ‘Earps 1’ on the back.

      The shirts were priced at £99.95 on the official Nike website, but some have since been put up on eBay for DOUBLE the price.
      Two shirts – one yellow and one pink – have been sold for an astonishing £199.99.
      Another two have both been sold for £159.99 and one has gone for £174.99.
      Earps took to Instagram on Monday evening to confirm that Nike will be putting more shirts on sale at retail price.

      She said: “Didn’t realise these were going on sale today and you’ve sold them out already!

      The United star played a crucial part in England’s journey to the Women’s World Cup final earlier this year.
      Although England suffered a 1-0 defeat to Spain at the last hurdle, Earps came away from Australia with the Golden Glove.
      She was also named The Best Women’s Goalkeeper in the World by FIFA in February. More

      With the ball just inside Man City’s half, Greenwood took around 25 seconds to find the pass.
      But just as she went to take the kick, referee Emily Heaslip blew her whistle before giving the England Lioness a second yellow.
      Greenwood, who stood still in disbelief, did not receive a warning prior to her dismissal.
      And her team-mates were left furious as a result, with Laia Aleixandri, Jill Roord and Chloe Kelly booked for dissent.

      Kelly opened the scoring in spectacular style just seven minutes into the clash with an excellent strike from 25-yards out.
      England Lioness Lauren Hemp was sent off in the late stages after picking up a second yellow card.
      The first was for dissent, while the second followed a challenge on Lauren James.
      Chelsea went on to level the score in the sixth minute of added time through Guro Reiten.
      After the match, Man City boss Gareth Taylor claimed that Greenwood’s red card was a “gamechanger”.
      Speaking to BBC Sport, he said: “The gamechanger is Alex’s [Greenwood] red card. It changes everything.
      “It is frustrating, particularly when we seemed to have gone from here to here [one extreme to another] on dishing out those yellow cards.
      “It is a difficult one to take because the players were magnificent defending the box against some really physical, direct players. Then with Alanna [Kennedy] off the pitch we think Khiara [Keating] has pulled off the save at the vital moment [before Chelsea scored].

      Speaking to Sky Sports, the Man Utd manager said: “The late equaliser does feel like a kick in the teeth because you have the three points won and then it becomes just one.
      “But I cannot be prouder of the players, they have only had eight days to work together as a collective.
      “Even Mal [Melvine Malard] when she comes on doesn’t really know how we move, how we approach certain situations, but she was fantastic. I thought the players gave everything, and I think that shows.
      “You’re not always going to win those sorts of games, they got the late goal today, we got one last week.
      “It was a top level game, something fans want to keep watching, and we always want to win. But I am proud of what the players have done in such a short space of time.”

      Speaking to Sky Sports at full time, the Arsenal boss said: “I think it’s really important to talk about two things. One is that we start with one XI, but we finish with another XI.
      “That is one of the things that I am most pleased with today. We finished the game much stronger than Manchester United did.
      “One change we have did this year is instead of presenting the starting XI first, we present the bench first. Because they are so important.
      “This is the tools we have to change things during the game and you guys are going to be really important for it. All players coming on today really showed that.”

      Speaking to Sky Sports, the Arsenal captain said: “It was so important for us to get the point especially after our result last weekend.
      “It was a great performance, we showed a lot of character today and Cloe’s [Lacasse] goal rounded it off at the end. We are so happy for her, but also happy we got the point today.
      “It is always tough to come here and get a result, in the past we have always found it difficult to get points here. So it is a positive result for us.
      “We were disappointed in our performance last week, as a team and individuals, and we knew we needed to turn that around. As a club and a team we expect much better from ourselves. We did that all week in training and I think we showed that in our performance today.”

      It also comes four weeks after the team were knocked out of the Champions League. 
      However Eidevall, who sealed a three-year deal to remain as Arsenal Women’s head coach, has backed his side to bounce back when they face Manchester United this evening. 
      He said: “We would much rather have won the last game and announced the contract, of course. 
      “But I also think it’s very much about the long term vision that we have, and that we share, that’s the important thing.

      Arsenal’s season-opening loss on Sunday means the team have lost their last three Women’ Super League matches.

      But Eidevall is confident his team will show a different energy and attitude following their loss to Liverpool last time out. 
      The Gunners boss added: “We didn’t play with the right amount of energy and attitude and that can never happen. 
      “And that hasn’t happened to us in a long time. One thing this team has been excellent with is playing with the right amount of energy. 
      “Football can be like that, sometimes you can forget the basics or you don’t get them right on the day.
      “But life is about how you respond in those moments. 
      “You’re defined by how you react to those situations. This is what this week (in training) has been about and this is what Friday is about.”
      Tonight’s game, which will see Alessia Russo face her former side, comes five days on from Emma Hayes’ call for the use of VAR-lite in the WSL.
      The Chelsea boss, 46, was reacting to officials failing to spot Guro Reiten’s shot crossing the goal line against Tottenham on Sunday.
      The Blues chief, whose team trialled the system in a pre-season friendly with Roma, called the absence of VAR and goal-line technology in the WSL “embarrassing”.
      Eidevall added: “If we’re talking about VAR, then that has to be with highest quality as well. 
      “It can’t be operated in like a low budget camera system that will only see a limited number of angles or with a limited number of referees with limited amount of training.
      “We see in the men’s game, even when it’s operating on a high level, still the mistakes happen.
