West Ham edge closer to £30m Said Benrahma transfer after Brentford winger ‘completes first part of his medical’

WEST HAM have edged closer to finalising a £30million transfer for Said Benrahma after the winger completed the first part of his medical, according to reports.
The Hammers are keen to land the Brentford star before the domestic transfer deadline at 5pm today.

West Ham will be desperately hoping there are no hiccups and they can get the move over the line in time.

It is understood the transfer fee is £25m up front with a further £5m in performance-related add-ons.
And according to The Athletic, Benrahma underwent the first part of his medical on Thursday.

The report adds the two London clubs agreed a deal last weekend before personal terms were ironed out with Benrahma in midweek.
There were fears a deal may have been off the cards as David Moyes’ side pursued Bournemouth forward Joshua King but the Algerian looks set to join instead.
The Bees wide man, 25, has been linked with a move to the Premier League throughout the summer following their failure to win promotion last season.
Benrahma was linked with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal earlier in the window before Crystal Palace emerged as favourites to land him.

However, SunSport revealed the ex-Nice forward may have priced himself out of a move with his £16million contract demands, wanting at least £60,000 per week on a five-year deal.

The percentage of answers have been round up or down from their decimal points

Benrahma, who is seeing former team-mate Ollie Watkins banging in the goals for Aston Villa, missed the first five games of the new season but came off the bench in the Championship clashes with Millwall and Preston.
In the Carabao Cup, however, his double against Fulham set up a quarter-final with Newcastle.
West Ham have begun the season strongly with Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals all hitting early form.
But allowing Felipe Anderson out on loan to Porto and the controversial sale of Grady Diangana to West Brom mean there is scope for an extra attacker to bolster the squad and Benrahma fits the bill. More

West Ham ‘agree terms’ with Brentford star Said Benrahma as David Moyes closes in on £17m transfer for winger

WEST HAM are closing in on a £17million transfer for Brentford star Said Benrahma after agreeing personal terms, according to reports.
And the Algerian’s wage demands are not expected to be an issue in any deal this time around.

The Bees wide man, 25, has been linked with a move to the Premier League throughout the summer following their failure to win promotion last season.
According to 90min.com, the Hammers submitted a £17m-plus-add-ons offer to the West London club on Friday night.
And Italian journalist Nicolo Schira reckons talks are continuing between the two clubs while personal terms with the player are already sorted over a five-year contract.

Brentford value the winger at around £25m and are yet to accept the offer with just days to go until the transfer deadline.
Although the international window closed last Monday, Premier League clubs can do business with the EFL up until 5pm on Friday.
And that could give West Ham time to secure a deal.
Benrahma was linked with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal earlier in the summer before Crystal Palace emerged as favourites to land him.

However, SunSport revealed the ex-Nice forward may have priced himself out of a move with his £16million contract demands, wanting at least £60,000 per week on a five-year deal.

The players Premier League sides may still sign in the ‘domestic’ window

West Ham ready to DOUBLE Declan Rice’s wages to £120k-a-week after pricing star out of Chelsea transfer

WEST HAM face having to double Declan Rice’s salary in a new deal after managing to the keep the England star at the club for another season.
Chelsea were desperate to sign the 21-year-old this summer but gave up without lodging a formal bid after the Hammers made it clear they wanted at least £80million for the midfielder.

    2

Declan Rice is set for a bumper new deal after Chelsea failed to sign the midfielder

Yet having retained the services of the player and made it clear he was their prized asset, West Ham now need to reward him with a contract that recognises his standing as the best player at London Stadium.
Rice is two years into a five-and-a-half-year contract, which saw him move from £3,000-a-week up to £60,000-a-week — a package co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold initially baulked at paying.
That deal is only 50 per cent the salary Felipe Anderson was on before his loan move to Porto this week, while Andriy Yarmolenko is on just over £100,000-a-week.
And should the Hammers succeed in their efforts to sign striker Josh King from Bournemouth he would also become one of the biggest  earners at the club.

So Sullivan and Gold know they now need to come up with a new package for Rice to recognise his status as the main man in David Moyes’ squad and also as a regular England international under Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate.
That means trying to work on a deal that would make him a top earner on £120,000-a-week, while tying him down to another long-term contract.

    2

How the PL’s best transfer XI for this summer could look

Such a deal would also serve to protect the transfer value of the player in the knowledge Chelsea and other big clubs in the Premier League are all admirers of the star.
Despite the interest from Chelsea over the past year — where his best mate Mason Mount plays — Rice has never dropped his standards or sought to push for a move away from the East End club.

He has been happy to stay working with Moyes at least for another year, even though he knows he could earn more and play Champions league football elsewhere.

LIVERPOOL’S Marko Grujic and West Ham’s Felipe Anderson joined Porto on season-long loans along with Chelsea’s Malang Sarr.

The deal was completed on Tuesday evening before Portugal’s transfer window shut at midnight.
Serbian international Grujic spent the last two seasons on loan at Hertha Berlin but was permitted to join Porto after Liverpool bosses turned down permanent bids from the Bundesliga.
Midfielder Grujic will join up with the Portuguese champions after the international break but there is no option to buy included in the loan agreement.
West Ham’s former record signing Felipe Anderson, 27, is also making the move to the Estadio do Dragao.

Anderson joined the Hammers for £35million in 2018 but has slipped down David Moyes’ pecking order – only starting three Carabao Cup matches this term.
After bagging 12 goals and as many assists in 72 appearances, Brazilian midfielder Anderson has been allowed to make the loan switch abroad to the Primeira Liga.
Porto also welcomed Chelsea’s Malang Sarr to complete their Premier League triple swoop.
Sarr only joined The Blues this summer from Nice but is earmarked as a star of the future.

Liverpool boast the most valuable squad in world football

The French defender, 21, moved to Stamford Bridge on a free just five weeks ago.
But after selling left-back Alex Telles to Manchester United, Porto have decided to strengthen their backline.
Sarr is one of 28 Chelsea players out on loan after Marco van Ginkel, George McEachran and Juan Castillo were also shipped out.

Jack Wilshere confirms he has cancelled his £100,000-a-week West Ham contract after injury-plagued two year spell

JACK WILSHERE has confirmed he and West Ham have mutually agreed to terminate his contract after two years at the London Stadium.
The 28-year-old – who was believed to be £100,000-a-week – joined the Hammers on a free deal after his contract at Arsenal expired in 2018.

And despite the midfielder having another year to run on his deal, the midfielder has now become a free agent.

Injuries have limited the England international to just 19 appearances for West Ham.
He has featured in just one game for the East London side this campaign – the 5-1 win against Hull in the Carabao Cup on September 22.

Wilshere has failed to be involved in six matchday squads, leading to speculation he could leave.
And Wilshere took to social media to announce the news, as he said: “I can confirm that I have today agreed the termination of my contract with West Ham United.
“When I joined the club in the summer of 2018 I joined with great hopes and expectations and was excited to join the club I’d supporters as a young boy.
“Unfortunately, despite all of my best efforts and intentions, it has not worked out as I’d expected.

“I have been fully fit fit for a large period of time at the club, including over the course of the last eight months – working hard every day – but unfortunately have nit been given the opportunity to play.
“Although I am of course frustrated that I was not able to fully showcase what I am capable of at West Ham I remain convinced that I can still contribute at the very top of the game.

“I am still incredibly hungry, ambitious and desperate to play football an achieve success.
“I’m still only 28 and feel fit, strong and ready to play.
“I’m now looking forward to the future and hope to be able to make an announcement about the next stage of my career in due course.”
Declan Rice replied to Wilshere’s tweet, as he said: “Gutted. It was a privilege to get to train and play with you mate.
“Your (sic) going to be massively missed around the place, I wish you all the best in the future brother. Love ya.”
The two-time FA Cup winger spoke of his future last month, where he stated he would be open to playing abroad.
Speaking to The Times, he said: “I just want to play games and get back to the level whether that’s at West Ham or somewhere else, different country, a different culture maybe.
“I still feel like I’ve got something to give whether that will be in England, in Italy, Spain or anywhere.

“I want to prove people wrong and most of all for myself to see if I can get myself to a high level again.
“I want to show people what I can do. Any footballer that says he’s happy being on the bench is lying. I want to play.
“I want to get a run of games, 15-20 games which I still think I can do and have an influence on games and get that confidence back.”
Semi-professional side Hitchin Town have offered Wilshere a place to train until he finds a new club.
They tweeted: “@JackWilshere if you need somewhere to keep fit while you find a new club, we’re in the market for a 28-year-old creative midfielder from Hitchin. You know where we are.”
To which Wilshere responded by saying: “See you tomorrow. What time? Don’t need to be getting fined day one.”
Hitchin then joked: “TRAINING WAS TONIGHT, JACK. Seriously though, Thursday night @ Baldock Arena & we’ll allocate you a locker. Safe x.”

Liverpool’s forgotten man Grujic wanted in transfer by Southampton and West Ham as they offer him career lifeline

WEST HAM and Southampton are reportedly set to battle it out for Liverpool’s Marko Grujic.
The 24-year-old midfielder became Jurgen Klopp’s first signing when joining from Red Star Belgrade in a £5.1m deal in January 2016.

Since then he has failed to shine at Anfield and has been made available for transfer again by his boss following previous loan spells away.
Grujic was handed a rare opportunity to impress for Liverpool last night and he did well as the Reds were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on penalties by Arsenal.
Now both The Telegraph and Daily Mail are claiming the Hammers and Saints want to sign the star.

And Southampton are said to be ‘very keen’ on Grujic coming to St Mary’s.
Both David Moyes and Ralph Hasenhuttl are desperate to bolster their squads before Monday’s transfer deadline.
And Kicker claims that Liverpool will be willing to do business with either as long as they meet the £18m asking price.
The Serbian spent last season on loan with German club Hertha Berlin.

The ace played 29 Bundesliga games and provided four goals and one assist in that period.

West Ham launch £14m transfer bid for Hans Vanaken but Club Brugge demand more to sell their best playmaker

WEST HAM have offered £14million for Club Brugge star Hans Vanaken, according to reports.
According to HLN in Belgium, the Hammers identified Vanaken as one of their top transfer targets this summer.

    1

But it is understood the Belgian side have rejected the bid as they demand more for one of their standout players.

They are desperate to hold on to the Belgium international, who signed a new five-year contract a year ago.
Vanaken smashed in 17 goals and added three assists last season before the campaign was cut short and Club Brugge were crowned champions.

That included a strike against European giants Real Madrid in the Champions League.
And he has continued his fine form this term with four goals and two assists in his opening seven matches.
The report adds it is unclear whether Vanaken wants to leave the title-challengers and his homeland to move to London, especially with West Ham only scraping survival last year.
Brugge have qualified for the Champions League again but West Ham risk being involved in a relegation battle once again.

David Moyes has only made Tomas Soucek’s loan permanent and added teenager Ossama Ashley from AFC Wimbledon this summer while Grady Diangana was controversially sold.

Co-owner David Sullivan appeared on talkSPORT last week, admitting his club may make no more signings before deadline day on Monday.
He also admitted the club had bought a “pile” of players who’ve failed to make an impact.
Sullivan said: “We have a number of bids in for a number if players, but teams don’t want to lose them – these are key players at decent sized clubs outside the UK.
“I’m waiting for targets for the manager and we’ve got two or three bids in, but unfortunately the benchmark is very high and it’s very hard to get those players.
“We have got limited funds – if we had £400m to spend and someone said you spend 10 per cent of it – £40m – on a 28-year-old centre-back from a Premier League club who will remain nameless, at £40m you’d probably get the player out.
“We’ve chased dreams the last two years and bought a pile of players who haven’t impacted the club.
“I can’t just go and sign two or three players the manager doesn’t want. I could quite easily tomorrow go and sign two or three players but we’d have a civil war at West Ham, because I don’t pick the players.
“I cannot say for sure that we are going to sign anybody. As each day passes I am getting more depressed.”

Chelsea set to make Declan Rice transfer move in coming weeks with West Ham star their final act of summer spending

CHELSEA are plotting to make a transfer swoop for Declan Rice to finalise their summer spending spree.
The Blues have already splashed £230million in the current window to bring in the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz.

    2

They are also hoping to stump up another £20m for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
But according to reporter Simon Phillips, the Blues are eyeing one more major deal before the window closes on October 5.
He wrote: “Mendy will be confirmed soon. Then Chelsea will make an offer for Declan Rice. Strap in for a busy last couple of weeks with outgoings as well!”
That gives Frank Lampard just two-and-a-half weeks to get Rice through the door at Stamford Bridge.

Lamps sees 21-year-old midfielder Rice — who also plays in defence — as the ideal man to help the club get back in the Premier League title mix.
West Ham rate him at £80m and will do everything in their power to keep their academy graduate, who was released by Chelsea aged 14.
Chelsea, however, are determined to push the fee well down from the Hammers’ asking price.
Leicester had wanted £70m for Chilwell before settling for £50m and the Blues hope they can get a similar discount on his England team-mate.
