      West Ham desperate for Jesse Lingard transfer and will do ‘whatever it takes’ to land Man Utd and England ace

      WEST HAM will do ‘whatever it takes’ to sign Jesse Lingard permanently from Manchester United, it has been claimed. Lingard left Old Trafford in January after being frozen out of the side and joined the Hammers until the end of the season.

      It proved pivotal for the playmaker, who has re-found his form with six goals and four assists in eight matches for West Ham.
      The Hammers are desperate to keep Lingard, 28, but do not have a clause in the loan deal to make the move permanent.
      A West Ham source reportedly told Sky Sports: “We will do whatever it takes to sign him. He’s been outstanding for us.”
      Lingard even received a call up in England’s last round of World Cup qualifiers after two years in the wilderness.
      He started against San Marino and came off the bench against Albania and Poland, with England winning all three.
      He travelled to and scored in the 2018 World Cup and is now fighting for a place on the plane for this summer’s delayed European Championship.
      Lingard boosted his chances again in West Ham’s weekend win over Wolves with a magnificent 60-yard run, which resulted in a goal.
      After the Hammers 3-2 win, United legend Gary Neville said: “He does an incredible amount of running.

      “It’s what he does. He’s good out of possession and good in possession.
      “At Manchester United. because there is that expectation of what you need to be, to be a wide player there, he’s always going to get a difficult press.
      “But if he was playing in a world-class team, if he was, say, Ji-Sung Park 10 years ago playing with Ronaldo and Rooney, doing that supplementary role, then people would be saying he’s perfect for this squad.
      “The problem is he was not playing in Manchester United teams as good as that, so he gets a bit of stick. He’s a really good player. He’s going to have a great career.

      “Manchester United have sent him out to West Ham to boost his career, maybe with the thought of boosting his price tag, but they might be thinking, ‘Actually, we might want him back, he could be a real help to us’.
      “If Jesse wants to play, and you can see he does want to play, then he needs to leave, because he’s not going to play every single week for a Manchester United team that’s competing for second or first place in the league.
      “But if he’s willing to go back there and compete and be the player that Dan James has been for the last few weeks, in and out, then there’s no doubt he can play for Manchester United.”

      But with Lingard shining at the London Stadium, it remains to be seen whether his temporary stay will be turned into a permanent deal.
      SunSport understands that due to Lingard’s surprising resurgence in form, United have doubled his asking price to £40million.
      And should the Hammers be priced out of a move for the England international, they could reignite their interest in Vitolo, according to Fichajes.
      The news outlet states that Atletico have offered David Moyes’ side the chance to sign the Spanish star in the summer.
      It has been claimed that the player could be available for just £8.5m having fallen dramatically down the pecking order under Diego Simeone.
      And they add that a deal could potentially be reached before the end of the campaign should West Ham look to bring him to England.
      Vitolo has featured in just 12 matches in all competitions this term, with the winger making just one LaLiga appearance since December 5.
      But West Ham’s priority is to keep Lingard at the club, and hope he will remain with them should they secure European football.

      Speaking prior to the clash against Wolves, Moyes declared: “I’m sure at this moment in time we will say yes, we’d love to have Jesse, because of how well he’s doing.
      “But we’ve still got nine games to go to judge and assess Jesse, just like United will have a period to think about do they want to sell or keep him?
      “That would be a decision we would all need to get to but, no, there’s nothing in place at the moment.”

      And that is now forcing United bosses to consider almost doubling the price.
      That causes a problem for West Ham because they were unable to secure a guaranteed option to make his loan deal permanent during negotiations.
      And if his fee climbs towards £40m, it may be too much for them to pay.
      There is hope that the 28-year-old has enjoyed himself so much at the London Stadium that he tells United he wants to make the move there on a full-time basis.
      But Lingard will have little control on any fee United demand.

      West Ham interested in Cyle Larin transfer with Besiktas striker eyed as Sebastian Haller replacement in summer

      WEST HAM are reportedly eyeing up a £13million move for Besiktas striker Cyle Larin in the summer to replace Sebastien Haller.
      The Hammers failed to bring in a centre-forward in the winter transfer window after allowing Haller to join Ajax for £20m.

      David Moyes has had to rely on Michail Antonio up top, with winger Jarrod Bowen also having to start as a makeshift striker.
      But according to Sabah, the London outfit are poised to return with a second offer for Larin at the end of the season.
      The Turkish news outlet stated that West Ham have retained an interest in the player despite having a £9m bid rejected by Besiktas in January.
      It has been claimed that the Super Lig side would be prepared to let the 25-year-old depart should they receive a fee in the region of £13m.

      Though they could face competition from West Brom should they avoid relegation into the Championship with the Baggies also interested in him.
      Larin, 25, has chipped in with 16 goals and three assists in 30 games in all competitions this term.
      A former team-mate of his at MLS club Orlando City, Kaka once declared the Canada international has a big future ahead of him.
      Speaking in 2017, the 2002 World Cup winner said: “Everybody [now] knows him, the way that he plays.

      “The marking is different, and he had a very good season last season as well. He scored a lot of goals. I think Cyle can go far.
      “Cyle is a very good player – I think Cyle can play in a big team in Europe as well.”
      As well as Larin, it has also been rumoured that West Ham could look to bring Chelsea ace Tammy Abraham to the London Stadium.

      Fifth in the league and enjoying our best start to a Premier League campaign since 2015-16 and the best start to a calendar year in our 125-year history.

      So you could forgive us West Ham fans for having hopes of seeing our beloved Hammers competing in Europe next season.
      It’s just a real shame the board don’t seem to share our ambition.
      After Sebastien Haller was sold to Ajax for £20million on January 8, we assumed David Moyes would seek a replacement who better fits his style of play and long term plan.
      But as the month rumbled on, it became very clear we’d be pinning our European dreams on Michail Antonio – West Ham’s ONLY recognised striker – and his incredibly unreliable hamstrings.

      The way this season has played out – and with everything going on in the world – this might just be West Ham’s best chance in years to disrupt the top six.
      So it’s criminal we’re now heading into the final three-and-a-half months of the campaign with Antonio as our only striker.
      And substitute winger Andriy Yarmolenko, who West Ham have reportedly been trying to flog for the best part of a year, as his only backup.
      The fans love Antonio and he is so effective but he is simply incapable of staying fit for long periods.

      Moyes approached the January window by carefully expressing his desire to sign a striker.
      On January 10 he referred to last year’s successful mid-season window when the club landed first team stars Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen.
      Moyes said: “We want to try and continue in the same vein, getting players who come and make a difference and can help us.
      “We had a really good transfer window in January last year and if we can have another one it will be great.
      “I want to try and bring the right players in, I don’t want to make mistakes that have maybe been made before.
      “I am trying to do it as well as I can. If it means I don’t get anyone in this window, so be it.”
      The days ticked by and still no one arrived.
      And on January 21 the Scot said: “I’ve got to say that the board have backed me great since I’ve been here. I’ve had anything I’ve really asked for.
      “I also know that I am not someone who is going to go and ask for money in a period of time in football where wages couldn’t be paid and the NHS is struggling.

      “We see so many difficulties outside of football.
      “Do I want a top striker? I certainly do. I really do to help us.
      “But I’m also mindful that football clubs, a lot are on the verge of going bust and I’ve got to make sure I do things correctly.”
      So sure enough, 11pm came and went on February 1 as the window slammed shut with no strikers signed and West Ham fans braced themselves for what feels like the inevitable.
      If you really try, one can see why Moyes might be cautious when it comes to panic buying a forward.
      After all, he’s been bitten before at West Ham with Jordan Hugill arriving on Deadline Day in January 2018.
      He made just three appearances before being shipped out on loan and waseventually sold.
      But it’s still so disappointing that we weren’t able to secure a single striker on a short-term deal or a loan at the very least.
      Josh King – who West Ham’s rivals for Europe Everton signed – or free agent Diego Costa spring to mind.
      Anyone really just so our season doesn’t crumble along with Antonio’s delicate hammys.

      Moyes and the current squad are doing an incredible job and the fans couldn’t be happier with their efforts.
      But the board need to start showing the same kind of ambition Moyes, the players and the fans have.
      But they didn’t in January and there is a now a real possibility this season will go down as yet another failed attempt at taking us to the next level – a promise made to Hammers fans when we moved from Upton Park to London Stadium almost five years ago.
      Publicly, Moyes started the month declaring he wanted a striker and has ended it by claiming he is happy with his lot.
      In the face of widespread fan frustration, he explained on Tuesday: “We had money to spend.
      “We sold Seb earlier in the window so we had that, but we are trying to do things differently at West Ham and we’re not going to follow the same path we have been following before.
      “I chose to keep my money and hopefully we can start another rebuild come the summertime.”
      Hmmm.
      It might be different on the pitch this season, but off it it’s just same ol’ West Ham.

      Lingard has only appeared three times this season, all in cup competitions, and has managed just one league goal in over two years.
      Therefore the chance to get much-needed gametime under old boss David Moyes is seen as appealing to the United academy product.
      West Ham are hoping to turn their good form of late into a serious push for European qualification.
      But attacking reinforcements are needed after the departures of Sebastian Haller and Robert Snodgrass.

      Bournemouth forward Joshua King is another player targeted by the London club.
      Solskjaer admitted on the weekend that he would have been ‘happy’ to keep Lingard in his squad ahead of a hectic second half of the season.

      But, with Sheffield United and West Brom also keen, a loan move has been green lit by the Red Devils.
      Last month, United triggered a one-year extension option on his contract, which now expires in the summer of 2022.

      Lingard was not involved in United’s weekend win over Liverpool and Solskjaer discussed his options after the game.
      The manager said: “Jesse trained this morning, he wasn’t in the squad.

      “So, of course, he wants to play football, we will have to see and I will sit down with Jesse and make a decision on what we’re going to do.

      “I will sit down and see if anything comes up. I’m very happy to have him around us as I know he could have played today and done well.”
      West Ham have a maximum two domestic loan signings in their first-team – Said Benrahma and Craig Dawson – with the Brentford winger nearing a £20million permanent move.

      Now the Irons are putting together an improved deal worth £16m in a bid to land the Norwegian before the end of this transfer window.
      West Ham are on the lookout for another forward after selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax for £20m earlier this month.
      The Premier League club have turned their attention to King after failing to seal a deal for Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri.
      The former Manchester United starlet’s contract at the Cherries runs out this summer – but the Championship club are still looking to cash in on him after rejecting a £20m offer from United last year.

      Despite there being less than six months left on his contract, Bournemouth want more than the £13m West Ham have offered.
      If they do not get the fee they want, they could be prepared to gamble by keeping hold of the star until the summer in the hope they get promoted back to the Prem and he will sign a new deal to stay with them.

      But King, 29, is believed to want a move back to the top flight now and does not want to be made to see his Vitality contract out.

      Burnley are also interested in signing the Norwegian and either club in claret and blue would appeal to the star, who played in Lancashire at Blackburn before joining Bournemouth in 2015.
      He has scored 52 goals in 182 appearances for the Cherries.

      Man Utd and Chelsea have not made transfer bids for West Ham star Declan Rice as David Moyes issues hands-off warning

      DAVID MOYES has issued a hands-off warning as Manchester United and Chelsea reportedly eye-up a move for Declan Rice.
      Neither side has yet made a bid but are said to be interested in the England international.

      The 22-year-old, who can play in midfield or defence, has continued to impress this season having scored his first England goal against Iceland in November.
      He has attracted interest from Chelsea and United – but Moyes revealed neither have firmed that up with a formal offer.
      Chelsea released the player in 2014 and will have to pay a significant amount of money if they wish to re-sign him.
      United are reportedly preparing to rival the Blues in a £70million transfer battle.

      Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is thought to want a defensive midfielder and a centre-back in the summer.
      But Rice remains a key part of Moyes’ team having played in all 38 Premier League games last season.
      The London club have enjoyed an excellent start to the season, winning eight Premier League games – the same amount as Chelsea.
      Moyes said: “They’re not true [rumours of a bid], we’ve had no contact from either of those clubs regarding Declan and we wouldn’t want any anyway.

      “He’s doing great for us, he’s a big leader now, he’s taken a lot of the weight off Mark Noble. He’s turning out to be a really good player but also a really good boy and good around the club.”

      Rather than sell, West Ham are looking to invest in their squad.
      The Hammers have reportedly made contact with Reims over striker Boulaye Dia, who has scored 12 times this season in France’s Ligue 1.
