      Amazon Prime Premier League pundits forced to flee Goodison Park pitch following Man City clash after being ‘in danger’

      AMAZON PRIME’S team of pundits were forced to flee their position on the Goodison Park pitch last night after being put in “danger” due to the weather.Their cameras were on Merseyside to witness the thrilling Premier League comeback victory for Manchester City at Everton.

      Pep Guardiola’s side looked set to suffer a huge blow to their title aspirations as they trailed 1-0 at the break to Jack Harrison’s strike.
      But they recovered in some style with three second-half goals to lift themselves to fourth in the table and to within five points of leaders Liverpool.
      In blustery conditions, Phil Foden got them level with a thumping strike from outside of the area before City turned it around on 64 minutes.
      Julian Alvarez slotted home a penalty after Amadou Onana’s handball and then Bernardo Silva made it three late on by curling home into an open net after latching on to a Jordan Pickford clearance.

      Steve Bower hosted the coverage as he was joined by former Everton manager Roberto Martinez, ex-Man City full-back Gael Clichy and England legend Michael Owen as pundits on the big screen for Amazon Prime.
      However, after witnessing the whirlwind on the pitch, they were all forced into the stands after the final whistle during a commercial break as the weather took a turn for the worse.

      As the show returned to presenter Bower, the camera panned from their now empty position on the pitch and into the stands, showing the four men sitting in seats that had just been occupied by the raucous home crowd.
      As confused fans looked on, Bower then explained: “Thunder and lightning at Goodison, it’s been rather interesting the last few minutes.

      “We are not really supposed to mention the weather as we are in a privileged position but we were in a little bit of danger so we have re-positioned, Test match cricket style maybe, into the stand.”
      And that did not stop them from conducting their post-match duties as Guardiola soon joined them for an impromptu sit-down interview.
      Assessing his side’s performance, the Cityzens boss said: “We were really good – that’s why we are the best team in the world. I’m sorry.
      “I remind them every day. We have standards to keep and that makes us have more responsibility.
      “So we cannot let the standards go down.” More

      FA Trophy clash POSTPONED due to weather as ref decides pitch is unplayable just hours before kickoff

      WEALDSTONE’S FA Trophy clash against Billericay Town has been postponed just hours before kick off.The two non-league outfits were due to collide tonight on the road to Wembley at Grosvenor Vale.

      However, the game, which was scheduled for a 7.45pm start, will now be taking place on another date due to the wet weather making the pitch unplayable.
      A Statement from Wealdstone said: “Unfortunately after heavy rain and a further pitch inspection, the referee has now declared the pitch unplayable. 
      “Therefore our FA Trophy game v @BTFC this evening is now postponed.”
      The game has now already been rescheduled.
      Wealdstone and Billericay Town, will now hopefully play the third round showdown on Tuesday 19 December.
      A number of non-league matches have also been hit by the wet weather and postponed across the country.
      However, tonight’s Champions League and Football League fixtures all look set to go ahead as planned at present.
      There are also several FA Cup clashes taking place this evening.

      While there are also four Second Round replays taking place.

      “After a heavy downpour of rain overnight, the pitch was deemed unplayable and failed a pitch inspection at 11:30am.
      “Details for the rearranged fixture and ticket information will be communicated in due course.
      “We can confirm however that all supporters who travelled on Official Supporter Travel will be offered free transport to the rearranged fixture.”
      Fans were left devastated following the announcement, with one person tweeting: “Imagine if the EFL actually cared about the fans and ensured inspections were done in a timely manner! Pathetic.”

      A third person wrote: “Should have called it off earlier, no thought for us travelling fans.”

      The match is one of five League Two fixtures to have been postponed this morning.

      Volunteer groundsman Paul Robinson was this week tasked with ensuring Mossley AFC’s pitch was ready for Saturday’s game against Nantwich Town.
      The Manchester-based non-league Division One side found their 4,500-capacity Seel Park stadium hit by this week’s mega-freeze.
      Temperatures have plummeted into the minuses as winter finally hits Britain.
      And yesterday, Robinson went to see whether the field was OK for Saturday’s big football clash.

      However, the pitch was completely frozen.
      Yet Robinson still found a hilarious way to check its condition.
      Standing with a spade, he casually let the tool drop to the ground.
      Such was the frost, the spade bounced as it hit the floor.

      And that was all Robinson needed to conclude the pitch was not in a playable state.
      Mossley’s official Twitter account joked: “In advance of tomorrow’s match, we called in two experts with extensive experience of the dew point, phase change and crystal growth.
      “Using cutting edge technology, we’re now able to share the findings of their revolutionary experiment.”
      Unfortunately for Mossley, a further pitch inspection on Saturday saw their game against Nantwich postponed.
      But fans were loving groundsman Robinson’s experiment, with one demanding: “He needs a promotion.”
      Another declared: “Brilliant this.”
      One noted: “I hope we have patented this technique.”
      Another added: “Have to say, that scientific test is groundbreaking… well ok, maybe not.” More

      Reacting to the cancellation, Walsall boss Mat Sadler told BBC One: “As soon as I walked out here I thought the game would be off. It’s rock-hard and not getting any warmer.
      “I know they left it as late as possible to see if it could be played, but it looked dangerous to me.
      “I think common sense has prevailed on that one. The game was never going to be played as soon as the covers came off, the goal mouths were rock hard.
      “Right decision to have been called off.”

      But their 11am flight was cancelled due to bad weather and technical problems.
      That means the squad has had to resort to a coach to travel the 106 miles to St James’ Park just hours before their 8pm kick-off.
      The journey is expected to take three hours if there is no further disruption from traffic or bad weather.
      The Met Office is predicting freezing temperatures in Newcastle this evening, which could dip to -1 Celsius.

      Erik ten Hag and Rasmus Hojlund already appeared to be feeling the cold as they boarded the coach ahead of their trip north.
      United will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 3-3 draw with Galatasaray in mid-week which left them on the brink of Champions League elimination.

      However United are the in-form team in the Premier League over the last five matches with four wins and one defeat.
      They have won three on the bounce without conceding and thrashed Everton away from home last time out.

      But heavy snow has forced the game to be called off.
      Bayern’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said: “We very much regret that we have to postpone the match, but the safety of our fans and the supporters of Union Berlin has absolute priority.
      “In addition, access to the Allianz Arena is not guaranteed due to numerous roads closures and various public transport cancellations.
      “We will inform you about a possible new date as soon as possible.”
      Safety risks and the traffic situation were cited for the reason to cancel.
      Buses and trains were cancelled with roads and motorways closed.
      The underground line U6 – which runs from Frottmaning to the Allianz Arena – has been suspended. 
      Munich police even recommend that people do not leave their homes.

      FA Cup second round tie POSTPONED after pitch inspection following extreme weather sparking fears for weekend clashes

      The game was due to take place tomorrow, December 2, at 3pm.
      However, at 1:15pm today an EFL referee deemed the pitch at Mornflake Stadium to be unsafe following an inspection.
      A statement from Crewe said the pitch had been hit by a “prolonged spell of sub-zero weather conditions this week”.
      There are fears for more football fixtures across the weekend with some areas of the country set to be hit with up to 5cm of snow.
      But the new fixture for the date has already been revealed.
      The re-arranged cup tie will be played on Tuesday, December 12, at 7:45pm.
      A potential replay for the tie will be carried out on Tuesday, December 19.
      High profile Premier League clashes such as Newcastle vs Man Utd and Manchester City vs Tottenham could be disrupted by travel chaos.

      Meanwhile, games lower down the footballing pyramid face being called off entirely due to the freezing conditions.
      The Met Office has extended its ice warning into the weekend.
      Some places could fall to as low as -10C.
      Hilly areas including the North Yorkshire Moors and parts of Scotland have seen more snowfall this morning.
      Those in certain areas of London have seen the first snowfall of the year today, with flurries spotted in Queen’s Park and Highgate. 
      The “severe weather” has also sparked delayed train services between York and Edinburgh.
      Residents in the north east of England were also forced to bring out their de-icer as rows of houses awoke to frozen windshields and snow covered roads.
