MIKE TYSON and Dana White were left in hysterics when they recalled the boxing legend’s appearance on Shark Week. The former undisputed heavyweight champion took part in a series of underwater challengers on the Discovery Channel show in 2020 – in which he put a shark to sleep by tickling its nose.

UFC president White used his contacts to get Tyson on the show to stop the boxing legend – whom he considers a close friend – from returning to the ring.
Tyson initially questioned his pal’s regard for his safety when getting him the gig, which they couldn’t help but laugh about during a recent catch-up.
Iron Mike said: “I said, ‘He cares about me?’ This n***a cares about me? He wants me to get hurt, he put me in there with a shark.”
MMA mogul White said: “I called him up and I said, ‘Dude, I don’t want you to do this f*****g fight, man.

“‘This is f*****g crazy. I’ll get you a job on TV, I’ll get you a TV show [and] you’ll make some money.’
“So I put him on Shark Week. And he was like, ‘Wait a minute, you care about me?
“‘You tell me not to fight and you put me on f*****g shark week.
“‘Yeah, you really care about me.'”

Tyson, 56, admitted to being a bag of nerves ahead of filming, and his nervous energy put the entire crew on edge.
White said: “So the day he had to jump in and do the shark thing, I guess he was f*****g going crazy, he was pissed off and the whole film crew is terrified.
“Everybody was scared. He had to dive into the water and swim with these sharks.”
Tyson recalled the experience during a recent chat with UFC commentator Joe Rogan, saying: “My wife thought it was a good idea too.
“I said, ‘Y’all m***********s don’t care about me.’ They don’t give a f**k about me. My wife said, ‘That’s a good idea.’ What?”
White’s attempts to stop Tyson from fighting again failed as the legend returned to the ring in November 2020 for a clash with fellow great Roy Jones Jr.

But Paul has reacted fast by scheduling his comeback fight just two months later, which is widely reported to be against Silva.
YouTube reporter Keemstar was first to break the news, with TMZ Sports since following up.
Further reports add the fight will be on October 29, headlining on ShowTime pay-per-view Stateside.
Silva, 48, was released by the UFC in 2020 following five losses in six bouts, three of which on the spin.

But he has made a successful transition to boxing, having already had a 1-1 record in the ring.
Silva beat former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 36, in June 2021 then knocked out ex-UFC champ Tito Ortiz, 47, in September.
He will become Paul’s first opponent with a recognised boxing record.
The American was twice set to fight Tommy Fury, 23, until the Brit pulled out after suffering an injured rib and then over US visa issues.

Hasim Rahman Jr, 31, had signed to replace Fury but a weight disagreement with Paul, 25, saw their bout cancelled.
Paul last fought in December, knocking out Fury’s substitute Tyron Woodley, 40, who he had already beat on points four months earlier.
That added to KOs over online rival “AnEsonGib”, ex-NBA player Nate Robinson, 38, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 38.
Silva was mentioned as a replacement for Fury in August but the idea was publicly slammed by Paul’s coach BJ Flores.
Flores responded to a fan who said the Brazilian made sense as an opponent, and said: “Does he? 48 year old MMA fighter.”
Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions banner teased the upcoming fight announcement and labelled him the bookies outsider.
MVP posted: “@jakepaul will almost certainly be the underdog. He knows that and he wants that.”

AJ was beaten on points for the second time in the space of a year to Ukrainian great Usyk.
But following a repeat result in their Saudi Arabia rematch, Joshua, 32, raised eyebrows with his bizarre post-fight speech.
AJ talked about his late start in boxing after avoiding jail, how he is heavier than legends of the past and Ukraine’s series of wars.
Sky Sports pundit Carl Froch, 45, and even Joshua’s training partner Frazer Clarke, 31, slammed the incident.

But UFC legend McGregor, 34, tweeted: “You are all going on ridiculous over this. That is a great speech right there.
“Fair play to him he made it yet he is still in there keeping that cog going.
“If they wanted the mic they could’ve tried get it back. Then he gives me a shout out. Great fight, thank you!”
AJ did not mention McGregor at any point but hailed Usyk, 35, as the “champ champ” – a phrase the Irishman made famous.
Joshua said: “This guy is a phenomenal talent, we’re going to cheer for him three times.

But the fight has been called off due to unexplained reasons.
The 28-year-old wrote on her Instagram story late on Tuesday night: “My fight is off.
“This is not from my team or from me. I was beyond ready and excited to fight.
“Hope to have news soon. Heartbroken.”

“I am pissed off and heartbroken.
“I worked my f***ing ass off to be pulled a week before I am supposed to compete.”
It’s been claimed that VanZant’s clash with Sigala has been rescheduled for October 15, although the promotion have yet to confirm the new date.
VanZant inked a lucrative multi-fight deal with BKFC in the summer of 2020 after being released from the UFC.
But life in the BKFC ranks hasn’t gone well for the American Top Team star, who has lost both her outings in the promotion.
VanZant suffered a decision loss in her debut to Britain Hart last February, with the same fate befalling her in a rematch with fellow former UFC star Rachael Ostovich last July.
The skid made her now-cancelled London clash with Sigala a must-win in the eyes of BKFC chief Dave Feldman.
He told GiveMeSport: “If Paige loses, her bare-knuckle career is definitely at an end.
“I mean, she did an interview and said there was no pressure on this fight.
“So, you know, if she feels there’s no pressure, then maybe, you know, maybe she’s very confident.

“But, you know, I can’t keep saying after every fight, we’ll see how she does.
“And that’s why if she doesn’t do well in this fight, If she doesn’t come out victorious, or at least look very, very good, then she’s probably at the end of her bare-knuckle career.”

But looks can be deceiving as Sigala is a ruthless fighter, not afraid to trade heavy blows in the ring.
She has a win, loss and draw in her three BKFC bouts, recently drawing against Angela Danzig in March.
Sigala, 38, returns at Wembley Arena in the biggest fight of her life against ex-UFC prospect VanZant.

Sigala said: “This event is going to be a big part of BKFC history, and I’m really excited to be a part of it.
“Fighting at Knuckle Mania in 2021 made me a part of that historic event.
“I didn’t fully recognize the significance of that in my debut, but I’m very aware of it heading into London.

VanZant lost to Britain Hart in her BKFC debut and was then defeated by Rachael Ostovich – who she beat in the UFC – last July.
So the American part-time professional wrestler is looking for her first win in the ring.
Cynical fans dubbed her bout with Sigla the “OnlyFans Championship” due to their subscription-based accounts.
But speaking to the Daily Star, VanZant, 28, hit back: “I don’t know if I have a reaction to that.
“I mean, you have to understand that both my opponent and me are two females doing what a lot of people cannot do.
“You know, 99.9% of the world would never have a boxing match, let alone a bare knuckle boxing match.
“So, we are doing something nobody else can do. I see it as I’ve been extremely successful in a lot of things, and there is a reason that I choose to fight. I get to make it a choice.
