Adrien Broner calls out Nate Diaz for fight as UFC legend is instantly offered boxing bout after quitting MMA

ADRIEN BRONER has called out Nate Diaz for a boxing fight – just after the icon quit UFC. Diaz, 37, called time on the MMA franchise following his dramatic win over Tony Ferguson last month.

But he is not short of options for his next venture.
And now the free agent has been offered a bout under boxing rules.
Broner, 33, took to Instagram with a post challenging the Californian southpaw, who recently launched his own fight promotion.
The 34-4-1 (1) Ohio star wrote: “Nate Diaz you coming over to boxing I will give yo a** everything you looking for #letsgetit”

Broner has been boxing world champion in four weight categories and returned to the ring in February 2021 to beat Jovanie Santiago on points.
But he knows a showdown in the ring with Diaz would draw in huge numbers of fans and dollars.
Diaz recently mocked rival Conor McGregor’s stint in the boxing world – claiming that his rival “failed” to take over in the ring.
The feuding pair then had another further swipes at each other as McGregor embarks on a career in acting.

If he snubs Broner’s wager, Diaz also has the option of a bare-knuckle dust-up with fellow ex-UFC man Mike Perry.
However, it seems unlikely the UFC will be able to take advantage of a three-month exclusivity clause in MMA to get the 21-13 former Ultimate Fighter 5 champ to reverse his decision to leave.
Diaz, who has Bellator vying for his signature, revealed the “only” fight he would take in UFC would be against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

YouTuber Jake Paul messaged UFC star Conor McGregor on Instagram urging him to ‘take the fight pussy’ after $50m offer

JAKE PAUL continued his relentless pursuit of a boxing match with Conor McGregor by direct messaging the UFC superstar on Instagram. The YouTuber revealed his eagerness to take on McGregor a few days after scoring a sensational second-round KO victory over Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr last year.
Jake Paul slid into Conor McGregor’s direct messages on Instagram
Jake Paul launched a foul-mouthed tirade at Conor McGregor earlier this week
And in summer 2021, the 25-year-old doubled down on his desire to box McGregor in a foul-mouthed tirade on Instagram, in which he claimed his team have sent the UFC’s poster boy a whopping £37million ($50million) offer.
McGregor refrained from responding to the x-rated call-out, in which Paul made derogatory comments about the Irishman’s fiancee, Dee Devlin.
And in another attempt to get the former two-division UFC champion’s attention Paul – whose older brother Logan stepped in the ring with Floyd Mayweather – sent a short and sweet direct message to The Notorious on Instagram.
Paul’s message read: “Take the fight pussy.”

After sharing his DM to McGregor, Paul launched a blistering rant at UFC president Dana White, who revealed he was willing to let women’s bantamweight and featherweight queen Amanda Nunes fight the former Disney star.
He said: “Alright, Dana, let me try to understand your logic here: So you’re saying you don’t want me to fight Conor McGregor because he’s one of the greatest fighters in the world and I’m just like a YouTuber of whatever.
“But then, in a statement today, you say: ‘Oh, I’m thinking about just having Amanda Nunes knock him out.’ But she’s also one of the greatest.
“Dana, you seem to have this thing where you sort of hate on videogamers or YouTubers and influencers and us boxing and all this stuff.
“But then, you spend half your time hanging out with the Nelk Boys. And I know why. It’s because they have hella influence over the male audience and you know that’s gonna promote the UFC.
“And right now, baby, there’s nobody in this f***ing world who is promoting the UFC as much as me.
Tens of millions of views, number one search result on Google when you type in Conor McGregor, when you type in UFC, when you type in Dana White. So you’re not making sense here.
“Dana, I know the world doesn’t really know this because the UFC is this huge company. But we all know it’s not doing that well.

“Anyone who is involved in WME and all the public stocks and everything that went south there, we know the company is not doing well. And I’m the biggest money fight you can do unless Khabib comes out of retirement.
“So if you want the UFC to make the most amount of money, you better start to wake the f**k up and realise that Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor is going to happen at some point.”
Paul’s rant at White came shortly after he ambushed McGregor’s team-mate Dillon Danis and pelted him with water balloons.
Paul may very well be a combat sports novice, but he’s well and truly at the centre of the boxing and MMA worlds at this moment in time.

‘He’s full of s***’ – Conor McGregor blasts Floyd Mayweather’s claims he earned $100m to ‘spar’ YouTuber Logan Paul

CONOR McGREGOR blasted that Floyd Mayweather was “full of s***” after claiming he made $100million to “spar” Logan Paul. Mayweather made the boast both before and after going the eight-round distance with YouTuber Paul in their June 2021 exhibition.

And the boxing legend also said he will be making up to $20m (£18m) for his latest spectacle bout, over the weekend in Japan.
But McGregor doubted Mayweather’s maths and jibed not since their 2017 fight has the American seen such a payday.
In a now-deleted tweet, he wrote: “He also said he made 100m to spar the Logan guy yet never made the Forbes list top 100.
“He hasn’t cleared 20 million in 1 full year since 2017. When we fought the last time. Otherwise he’d have been on the list.

“He hasn’t made the list since 2017. In other words he’s full of s***.”
Mayweather and Paul sold over 1million pay-per-views for their bout, priced at $50, meaning $50m (£45m) was generated at the box office.
And the 50-0 icon also claimed he made $30m (£27m) in sponsorships on his trunks alone, although his overall purse was never confirmed.
Mayweather is said to have made almost $300m (£270m) the night he beat McGregor, 34, in ten rounds.

It also signalled the end of his career as a professional fighter but the Hall of Famer has boxed in three exhibitions since.
He beat featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, 24, in 2018, faced Paul last year and then dominated ex-sparring partner Don Moore in May.
Mayweather returns against MMA star Mikuru Asakaura, 30, and is in talks with YouTuber Deji, 25, for a November exhibition in Dubai.
He then wants to rematch McGregor in 2023 at the 70,000-seat Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and for no less than $100m (£90m).
Mayweather told TMZ Sports: “Hopefully me and Conor McGregor can lock up in 2023 in a real fight.
“If the price is right, of course, they already talked to me about the number that I’m going to receive, and of course, it’s nine figures.
“You know we gotta start at least $100 million for Floyd Mayweather. I’m always the A-side. My philosophy is ‘never stop getting it.’
“But if I’m not taking any bodily harm or if I’m not taking any abuse, then I can go out there, have fun and entertain the people.”

Since then, Mayweather has had three exhibition bouts, not officially sanctioned or affecting his historic record.
But Mayweather could meet McGregor, 34, again next year.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Mayweather – who returns over the weekend in Japan against MMA star Mikuru Asakura in a three-round exhibition – confirmed ongoing discussions with McGregor for a sequel.
He said: “I want to go out there this weekend and have fun.

“Then I have another exhibition in Dubai in November… and me and Conor McGregor in 2023.
“We don’t know if it’s going to be an exhibition or a real fight. But there’s been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition.”
However, McGregor has hit back at Mayweather’s confirmation of talks via Instagram.
The Irishman shared a picture of an uppercut from their first meeting, captioned: “Not interested.”

Mayweather has also spoken out for the first time since it emerged he was in talks with Deji, brother of social media sensation KSI.
He told TMZ Sports: “This Saturday – which in Japan – will be Sunday, I have an exhibition against a helluva fighter from Japan.
“I think he’s big in UFC and big on YouTube, so in the US, that will be Saturday but Japan it will be Sunday.
“And then I got one with the guy Deji – I want to make sure that his name is right – Deji, right?
“Yes, Deji. We will be doing an exhibition in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena and that is in November.” More

And Woodley, who twice lost to Paul, beat three others in the vote.
Paul asked his former opponent: “You down to do this in January in the US? 180 pounds?”
To which Woodley, 40, claimed he was ready to fight right now.
KSI, 29, responded: “Jake Paul really got you on a leash…”
The YouTuber was set to return against Alex Wassabi, 32, but the American pulled out amid a concussion scare.
Woodley offered to step in on late notice, but instead KSI fought rapper Swarmz, 25, and so-called professional boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda, 23.

So he responded to KSI: “And i’ll dog walk your ass so now what? You Wouldnt accept a fight on 2 weeks notice.
“Instead you fought 2 weak ass warm ups. You know my people run the play and put your money where your mouth is!

“Otherwise keep my name out your mouth before you get slapped in it.”
Woodley was beaten by Paul on points in August 2021 and then got knocked out in their short-notice rematch last December.

Posting the KO, KSI jibed: “Both your fights against Jake were ass. So boring to watch.
“Only reason I would fight you is to show everyone how ass you both are, by beating you in a quicker time lmao.”
Woodley remains in contention to fight KSI in January, along with Conor McGregor’s training partner Dillon Danis, 29.

The clash between the much-maligned star and the 48-year-old Brazilian will take place in Phoenix, Arizona on October 29.
Paul, 25, was originally due to return on August 6 until suffering two fight cancellations.
The American was twice set to fight Tommy Fury, 23, until the Brit pulled out after suffering an injured rib and due to US visa issues.
Hasim Rahman Jr, 31, had signed to replace Fury but a weight disagreement with Paul saw their bout cancelled.

Paul last fought in December, knocking out Fury’s substitute Tyron Woodley, 40, who he had already beaten on points four months earlier.
That added to KOs over online rival AnEsonGib, ex-NBA player Nate Robinson, 38, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 38.
Meanwhile Silva was released by the UFC in 2020 following five losses in six bouts, three of which were on the spin.

Silva beat former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 36, in June 2021 then knocked out ex-UFC champ Tito Ortiz, 47, in September and he will now become Paul’s first opponent with a recognised boxing record.
The Problem Child admitted at a press conference to promote the fight last night that he grew up idolising Silva.
He even posed for pictures with his brother Logan and Silva, and one with his upcoming opponent’s mother.
But he still insists that the bout will not last longer than five rounds as he is going to “respectfully” knock out his idol.
He said: “Anderson Silva is the nicest guy in the world and we love him. If my opponent is a d***head, I’m gonna treat him like a d***head and beat his f***ing ass, and I think people have seen that side of me. But I respect this man.
“I’m still gonna knock him out, but respectfully knock him out. It won’t go more than five.” More

Floyd Mayweather reveals he didn’t KO Conor McGregor early to make sure mega-money rematch happens

FLOYD MAYWEATHER insists he decided against knocking out Conor McGregor early so the pair could have a money-spinning rematch. The 45-year-old American came out of retirement to beat the UFC star in ten rounds in 2017 before hanging up his gloves again.

McGregor started well, winning some of the opening rounds before the exhausted ring novice was picked apart by Mayweather, who barely shed a sweat until the finish.
Mayweather – who claimed he only did push ups and sit ups as training for the fight – is adamant he could have ended the bout whenever he pleased.
But with the possibility of a lucrative rematch taking place afterwards, the multi-millionaire decided to keep the fight competitive.
He told Drink Champs: “I took it serious, but I wanted to have some fun in the fight and I wanted to entertain the people.
“You have to give the people a show, so I gave the people a show.
“If I wanted to go out there and f*** him up and blaze him right out the gate, I could’ve did that. But my thing is this, if I would’ve did that, then it wouldn’t be probably a part two.”
After Mayweather’s Las Vegas win, he returned a year later in an exhibition bout against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Tokyo.

He is now set to return to Japan later this month to fight MMA fighter Mikaru Asakura.
He told FightHype: “I got three more exhibitions this year [2022], could be one fight and two exhibitions.
“But guess what, you better know it’s at least and this is the lowest I’m talking about $200million.”
Mayweather looks to be taking the test seriously and is already in fight camp.
