TYSON FURY claims he received a sensational “offer” from the UFC to enter the cage for a crossover clash with heavyweight champion Jon Jones. The Wythenshawe warrior is gearing up to make his ring return against the MMA promotion’s former 265lb king Francis Ngannou in a much-maligned Saudi showdown on October 28.

Fury, 35, was embroiled in a public spat with Jones – MMA’s controversial but beloved former pound-for-pound king – before the finalisation of his ten-round exhibition with Ngannou.
UFC kingpin Dana White publicly entertained the clash, which the WBC heavyweight champ claims was put on the table by the promotion’s parent company WME-IMG.
The undefeated Brit told SunSport in an exclusive interview: “That’s 100 per cent true [that I received an offer to fight Jones].
“I’ve had an offer from the UFC, from [WME] IMG, to fight Jon Jones.”

Fury has received pelters for welcoming boxing novice Ngannou to the professional ranks for his first outing since his one-sided beatdown of a battle-weathered Derek Chisora last December.
But that won’t stop him from entering the dangerous world of mixed martial arts should the UFC’s offer still be on the table after his desert dust-up with Ngannou.
The former unified heavyweight champion said: “Frank Warren knows about it, my team knows about it.
“It’s still ongoing and we’re looking to move forward on that for sure.”

Fury and Jones even went back and forth with one another via text to try and make the shock showdown come to fruition.
“Me and Jon have even spoke about it,” Fury said.” It’s definitely a real thing.”
A potential clash between Fury and Jones became the talk of the combat sports world in May after UFC commentator Joe Rogan ruled out Fury’s chances in a no-holds-barred straightener with Jones.
Fury reacted angrily to that notion, saying in one of his many Instagram story rants: “Here’s a thought.
“How about this? How about I fight Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou on the same night?
“How about that? That’s how much I value them two bums. Get up! Let’s go, boys.”
UFC Hall of Famer Jones is set to call time on his legendary career after what will be his first defence of the heavyweight title.
The former long-reigning light-heavyweight champion will defend the 265lb throne against former champion Stipe Miocic on the promotion’s 30th anniversary card – UFC 295 – at Madison Square Garden on November 11.

And he ramped up his work by sparring rising welterweight contender Garry with boxing and MMA rounds.
He posted a series of images and footage of the sessions to leave fans in awe as one said: “The karate stance and fluidity is back.”
Another added: “The last kick is vintage McGregor”
McGregor, 35, is yet to fight since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in the first round of their trilogy bout.

He is set to face Michael Chandler, 37, next after the pair coached on The Ultimate Fighter together.
But McGregor has been out of the UFC’s all-year round random United States Anti-Doping Agency testing.
And in order to return, he would be required to complete six months of clean USADA testing unless given an exemption, throwing his chances of a fight this year into doubt.
Garry, 25, meanwhile is building towards a title shot having recently moved to 13-0 after beating Neil Magny.

He was motivated into a career in MMA after watching McGregor’s meteoric rise in the sport.
And Garry revealed he even even has a tattoo which was inspired by his hero.
He told Sporting Post: “I always like to get a tattoo before and after a fight because I want something physical to connect in time with a memory, with moments that are powerful for me.
“I don’t have a lot of time to get tattoos, so there’s only a certain window I can use to get them. And I want every single tattoo that I have to have a lot of meaning.
“The daisy tattoo is because I made my UFC debut at Madison Square Garden at 23 years of age, and for me that was a massive dream come true. To be 23 and fighting for the UFC at MSG.
“And I won by first round knockout and Conor McGregor jumped on Twitter, and he said: ‘Ian, you little f**king Daisy.’
“And I went, that’s it, I’m going to get a little daisy tattoo and get it on the right hand that I cracked the opponent with.”
“My relationship with Conor is the same as everybody else who is a fan of him.

Conor McGregor ‘bets $200,000’ on training partner Dillon Danis to beat Logan Paul amid YouTuber’s offer of $2m wager

LOGAN PAUL claims Conor McGregor has bet $200,000 on Dillon Danis to beat him – but ignored his offer of a $2million wager. McGregor’s training partner and friend Danis makes his boxing debut against the YouTube star on October 14 in Manchester.

Paul initially called out McGregor to bet $1m (£800,000) on the outcome but he then doubled the terms.
The American, 28, is yet to hear back but claimed the UFC legend, 35, has put a bet worth around £160,000 down at the bookies.
Paul said: “He’s not behind Dillon, bro.
“If he was behind Dillon he’d take my $1m bet, there’s a reason he completely ghosted me.

“Dillon mentioned that Conor put money on him in the face-to-face, he goes, ‘Conor put $200k on me.’
“And I’m like, ‘Then why wouldn’t he take my f***ing bet then. Conor knows, bro, he doesn’t believe in his fighter, his fighter doesn’t believe in himself, when I look at Dillon I see a broken individual.
“If he thinks he’s broken now? Wait until October 14, I’m going to break him entirely.”
McGregor is set to train with Danis, 30, ahead of the bout, which acts as co-headliner to KSI’s fight against Tommy Fury.

And Paul upped the ante with his wager during an episode of comedian Andrew Schulz’s podcast.
He said: “I asked Dillon about it in the face-to-face I was like, ‘Where’s Daddy Conor, your f***ing boy, if he’s so confident in you?’
“He goes, ‘Don’t worry about that, blah blah.’ He has no answer. Conor, you know what?
“I’ll tell you what Mr Moneybags, I’m going to make this more interesting for you, how about we double it?
“We make it $2m – $2m says I beat your boy Dillon Danis. I know you’re going to see this clip, you’re coaching him, guiding him, he’s definitely going to show up?
“F*** you, both of you are all bark, no bite. $2m says I beat your boy and I’ll send you the contract tomorrow.
“But I guarantee you he’s not going to respond. All bark, no bite, both of them.”

I’ve fought Tyson Fury three times and he will beat Francis Ngannou… but he will get DROPPED by ex-UFC star

TYSON FURY has been backed by his former opponent to beat Francis Ngannou – but only after taking a trip to the canvas. The unbeaten heavyweight world champion faces ex-UFC star Ngannou on October 28 in Saudi Arabia.

Fury, 35, comes into the bout having last stopped Derek Chisora, 39, in December, the third time he beat his British rival.
And Chisora is picking the Gypsy King to beat Ngannou, 37, but warned he could have to get up from the floor first.
He told SecondsOut: “Tyson is going to win it, but I think Tyson is going to get dropped by Ngannou.”
Ngannou is set to make the move from the MMA cage to the boxing ring following his UFC departure.

And Fury’s dad John expects the former UFC champion to bring every ounce of his rugged martial arts style into the bout.
He told Seconds Out via Freebets.com: “I hold him in the highest esteem and the highest regard.
“He’s world champion at his game, he’s taking on the best in the world, taking it seriously and I do believe he’s going to bring the smoke.
“I’m expecting Tyson to come out with a broken leg or a broken arm.

“He’s not going to come out unscathed and I’m glad they’re paying him well because if they weren’t paying him well I wouldn’t put him in against Francis Ngannou.
“He’s going to get knocked about, Tyson, and he knows that, exhibition my backside – they’re going to kill each other them pair.”
Ngannou has called on the help of American legend Mike Tyson – who John named his son after – for his boxing debut.

Iron Mike has been helping train the Cameroonian in his Las Vegas camp.
And John said: “Bare in mind he’s got Mike Tyson there and he wants to impress Mike Tyson.
“And then Tyson [Fury] has got an ego as big as Morecambe so the stage is set for a battle royal.
“He couldn’t have a better mentor in his camp than the great Mike Tyson, I’m sure Mike will show him the boxing moves he needs.”

Carl Froch slams ‘unprofessional’ Anthony Joshua for drinking Conor McGregor’s pint as it ‘could’ve been contaminated’

ANTHONY JOSHUA has been slammed for indulging in Conor McGregor’s Forged Stout after sending Robert Helenius into oblivion. The Watford warrior breathed new life into his career with a brutal seventh-round knockout of the Nordic Nightmare at the O2 last weekend.

A jubilant McGregor was ringside for the fight and jumped in the squared circle moments after the KO to plough AJ with a cup of his fermented beer.
Joshua, 33, took an uncomfortable sip of the dark stout as McGregor presented it to his lips – a decision former unified super-middleweight champion Carl Froch believes was stupid.
The Cobra said on his Fighting with Froch podcast: “His nose was p***ing with blood, his mouth was all bleeding.
“As we saw when he jumped out of the ring and had a slurp on that nasty Irish stout that Conor McGregor shoved in his face.

“And all blood and snot and sweat went inside that pint.
“How unprofessional’s that? AJ jumps out the ring, bit disrespectful as well – Helenius is receiving medical attention and he jumps out the ring.
“Okay, fair play – go and see your dad, go and see your family.
“You’ve just won a fight, you were a bit nervous and there’s a lot of pressure on you – okay, fine.

“But don’t go over to Conor McGregor who’s trying to steal the show, making what’s probably a really expensive suit look really cheap because he just looks like a scruffy b****rd.
“Standing around at ringside, shouting and talking b***cks, trying to be centre of attention, shoves that nasty Irish stout in AJ’s face.
“He shouldn’t have drunk that stout because that stout could’ve been contaminated, you’ve gotta do a post-fight drugs test.
    “Very unprofessional from Anthony Joshua.”
Froch believes AJ should’ve followed Brit rival Tyson Fury, who famously refused to drink bottles of water offered to him by strangers after his 2015 win over Wladimir Klitschko and his 2020 rematch with Deontay Wilder.
Victory over Helenius was Joshua’s second successive triumph since his back-to-back defeats to former pound-for-pound king Oleksandr Usyk.
He’s set to return to action early next year for a long-overdue grudge match with former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder. More

Paul, 26, dropped MMA legend Diaz in the fifth round on his way to picking up his seventh professional victory, although the knockdown did little to impress Hearn.
During an appearance on The MMA Hour, the Matchroom Boxing chief said of the fight: “It was awful.
“Don’t get me wrong, the event was unbelievable. You did a great job.
“Brilliant. But when you’re talking about — you know MMA like the back of your hand.

Problem Child Paul has aspirations of eventually challenging for a world title, something Hearn believes is the ultimate pipe dream.
He said: “We have something in the U.K. called an area title, which is in a specific radius — it’s kind of like a state title.
“These guys wouldn’t win a state title – that’s the level they’re fighting at.

“But listen, props to Nate. He definitely didn’t have ability, but what he did have was grit.
“But Jake just doesn’t have the ability or the experience to break someone down and stop them. And I was convinced he would.”
Paul lamented his failure to stop Diaz, who has only ever been finished once in MMA.
But Hearn doesn’t believe he had the skill-set to stop the fight inside the distance.
He said: “The reason that Nate didn’t get stopped is that Jake didn’t have the ability.
“He doesn’t know how to break a fighter down, cut off the ring, beat him up, and stop him.
“But I give my props to Nate: super tough. Super tough. But you’re talking about low, low level in terms of standard.”
Paul is expected to return to the ring later this year, although there currently isn’t a frontrunner to be his ninth professional opponent.
