GARETH BALE is a doubt for Wales’ Nations League clash in Belgium next week.The Dragons captain, 33, will turn out for MLS side LAFC against Houston Dynamo in the early hours of Monday morning.

Then Bale is to take a 10½-hour flight to London from Los Angeles on Tuesday, just two days before the Brussels tussle.
But with time zones, jet lag and fatigue all factors, Wales boss Robert Page will not take any risks with him ahead of the World Cup.
Page said: “We know he’ll be affected. There will be a lot of planning as regards to if he is going to be ready for the game against Belgium. If not, we might have to leave it for the Poland game.
“We want him in top condition. We are not going to jeopardise him.”

Wales host Poland three days later on September 25 but could already be confined to last place in League A Group 4 if they lose to Belgium and Poland get at least a point against the Netherlands.
And Page will need all the firepower he can get as Wales have picked up just one win in their last six games – the crucial World Cup play-off qualifier against Ukraine.
Bale has been out of sorts since his move to MLS too, scoring just two goals in 11 games in all competitions.
In fact, LAFC have performed better when the Welshman has not been on the pitch.

“But if he plays 10 minutes it is more than what he was playing before he scored those important goals for us. So everything he plays is a bonus.
“He looks after himself, he’s the ultimate professional in every camp. Whatever minutes he plays I know when he comes on camp he will be ready to play for us.” More

England play Italy and Germany in the Nations League later this month, with the team announced on Thursday.
And according to the Daily Mail, the Manchester United duo have played their way into the squad thanks to their strong starts to the season under Erik ten Hag.
The Englishmen, who have started all six Premier League games, have five goals and two assists between them including winners against Liverpool, Leicester and Arsenal.
Rashford and Sancho were both part of the team that reached the Euro 2020 final last year, with the duo missing penalties in the shootout against Italy.

Rashford, 24, has not played a single minute for his country since the heartbreaking final – although he was called up last November in an injury-hit season.
Sancho, 22, featured in October 2021, last turning out for the Three Lions against Andorra.
Their poor form last season coincided with Manchester United’s struggles and they were subsequently dropped by Southgate.
But England’s torrid Nations League results in the summer – losing 1-0 and 4-0 to Hungary – means there are likely to be major changes for the September fixtures.

The Three Lions play away in Rome on September 23 and then host Germany at Wembley three days later at risk of finishing bottom of the Nations League group.
These are the last two matches before England begin their World Cup campaign against Iran on November 21.

Get French Football News shared a video in which team-mate Antoine Griezmann asked him if he knew the rules of the tournament.
The French international, 25, laughed and shook his head.
Dembele answered: “The coach said but I don’t understand anything.
“There are three teams in a group – what is that. One gets promoted, one gets relegated. The second team plays for nothing, for holidays.”

ENGLAND have been allocated barely 4,000 tickets for September’s Nations League game with Italy.But the lucky fans will have to pay just £9.50 for their seats in the San Siro on September 23.

FA chiefs have confirmed they received 4,361 tickets for the penultimate game before the World Cup.
A ballot is required after 6,767 members of the official England Travel club applied.
All successful applicants will receive tickets with their name printed on it, under Italian law, designed to prevent resale of seats by touts.
The home game at Molineux in June had just a few hundred schoolchildren in attendance.

WALES’ World Cup hotel in Qatar gives a nod to Gareth Bale’s successful spell at Real Madrid with a Spanish restaurant on site.Robert Page’s men are set to stay at the brand new Delta City Centre, which is located in the West Bay of Doha and due to open in October.

The Welsh FA have already inspected the planned 320-room hotel, which is primed to offer magnificent views of the Doha skyline, and the training ground at the Aspire academy to the south of the city.
On the hotel’s online blurb it implores guests to “discover five-star restaurants and bars, including the speciality Spanish restaurant – Medios”.
Bale spent nine years at the Bernabeu, winning five Champions League titles, but the free agent has agreed to join LAFC on an initial one-year deal when the MLS window reopens.
The 32-year-old is desperate to be in peak condition for the finals and the golf nut will be interested to know the nearest course is ten miles from the hotel at the Education City golf club.

Going from Wales’ hotel to training is expected to take 20 minutes while the route from the West Bay area to the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium – where the Dragons face USA, Iran and arch rivals England – is less than a 30-minute drive.
Mooney has fears over the traffic but expects Fifa to solve the problem come November.
He added: “There was quite a lot of traffic in the centre and when there are hundreds and thousands of fans descending on Doha from all over the world, are they used to those sorts of numbers?
“It’s not our problem. It’s up to Fifa and the city to organise that.
“It was something in my mind as we came out of the business hour traffic. It took us quite a long time to go from our hotel in the centre of the city to the training ground which was south of Doha.
“They told us it was a 20-minute trip and it took about 45 minutes so that was interesting. I’m working on the assumption that Fifa and the city will have all that solved by the time we do get there in mid November.”
Wales are due to meet up after the final Premier League fixtures before the World Cup on Sunday, November 13.

Yet even the £100million man can only dream of Maddison’s stats – despite having the advantage of playing for the best side in the country.

He outscored every one of Southgate’s chosen midfielders, despite not taking penalties, in fact he outgunned many of England’s forwards.
He also chipped in with more assists than all of his rivals, with exception of Mount, who managed two more.
Southgate claimed Maddison was left out yet again this summer because others were ahead of him – but the stats simply don’t back him up.
He has also previously claimed England’s system isn’t geared to a No.10 but Maddison has played all season as a No.8 for Brendan Rodgers.
Southgate only has two games left to restore flagging confidence and his reputation before heading to Qatar.
It would be bonkers, bordering on insanity if a creative talent like Maddison – with his dead-ball brilliance and goal-scoring talent – is cold-shouldered yet again.
