Grealish scores his disallowed goal after getting in the ‘POMO’
Another ex-Premier League star, Joe Cole, had earlier got viewers talking regarding his outfit choice as he performed punditry duties from pitchside.
However, shortly after Jack Grealish had a goal disallowed for offside it was Dublin’s turn to get trolled on social media.
Man City ace Grealish had fired home a cross at the backpost before VAR ruled it out – but Dublin’s use of the old school “POMO” phrase left those tuning in bamboozled.
And some even believed that he had simply made up the acronym – which stands for position of maximum opportunity in old school football chat – on the spot.

“What the f*** is Dion Dublin about? POMO? Have a word with yourself,” said one viewer on social media.
Another said: “Dion Dublin ‘Pomo’ WTF are you talking about?”
A fellow viewer wrote: “Just heard Dion Dublin say ‘POMO – Position of maximum opportunity. Surely he’s just made that up.”
“Pomo? Did Dion Dublin really just say that,” asked another.

Bemused viewers continued to ask the same thing, with another tweet saying: “Did Dion Dublin just say POMO?”
“Dion Dublin needs to get in the bin. ‘POMO’ is not a real thing,” claimed a fellow Ch4 viewer.
Despite the saying being used by veteran coaches for decades, the terminology still seemed to go way over the heads of today’s football fans.
“POMO? Dion Dublin strikes again. Never heard that saying in my lifetime,” wrote another.
As another said: “Dion Dublin just making up his own acronyms now, POMO otherwise known as Position of maximum opportunity.” More

Jake Humphrey reveals why he left BT Sport and opens up on awful bullying he ‘would not wish on worst enemy’

JAKE HUMPHREY has revealed he quit BT Sport for his family – as he launched an attack on social media abuse and recalled childhood bullying he “would not wish on my worst enemy”.The presenter says he “struggles with the modern world” and gets a stomach-wrenching feeling when he drops his kids off at school – due to the “nasty” treatment he received in the same setting.

The former Champions League broadcaster, 45, is now more focused on his High Performance podcast and also wrote How to Change Your Life.
And he explained how he was “not always that comfortable” as a TV frontman, partly as “the lads-y banter thing is not for me”.
The ex-BBC Formula One presenter admitted being ill at ease dealing with “firm opinions” on BT Sport, rather than more subtle debate.
Humphrey told The Telegraph:  “I often felt I was doing High Performance all week, and empathy and understanding and leaning into people. Then, on Saturday, I was having conversations about sacking managers and dropping players, criticising decisions made by referees.

“I’d been dreaming for a long time, but not brave enough to take a leap.”
He is also aghast at how toxic life online can be, having spoken out against “chauvinistic and nasty bullying” received by presenter Karen Carney.
Humphrey said of trolling: “I think you would be a sociopath or something if it didn’t get through the armour sometimes.
“I’ve always thought that if you just let this stuff go you are as complicit as anybody.

“The only place that reaction happens is on Twitter. No one has ever stopped me in the street and said it… I just feel exactly like I felt when I got bullied at school.”
The former children’s game show presenter then relived some of the abuse he got at secondary school.
He said: “When we drop the kids off, I still get the feeling in the pit of my stomach when I see them walking off with the bag over their shoulder.
“It still triggers me to this day… God, the feeling of having to do that day after day after day, knowing what awaited.
“There were these two buses in the school car park and I’d go and sit in there on my own and just have my lunch.”
Humphrey also believes his school’s handling of the matter only made him feel worse.
He added: “At that age, particularly at that time, people didn’t really know how to deal with it.
“I was asked to stand up in assembly and the teacher said, ‘Can people stop bullying this guy?’ That just brings more heat.” More

Watch hundreds of Leeds fans hilariously troll lone Plymouth supporter over his chinos with brilliant chants

IT was a long old evening for one Plymouth Argyle supporter as he was trolled over his fashion choices by Leeds fans. Not only did he have to sit through his side’s 2-1 loss to third-placed Leeds but his chinos came in for a ribbing as well.

The fan opted for a grey cardigan and wide-legged beige chino ensemble but clearly these style choices didn’t travel well from the south west of England to Yorkshire.
The fan was serenaded WITH many different chants focusing on his sartorial flair, with Leeds fans telling him “It’s a long way to Plymouth with chinos”.
At one point the Leeds fans were in rapture as they jumped along to a rendition of “no chinos, no party”.
That then turned into a chant of “chino’s barmy army.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
The fan was also told: “You should’ve gone chino shopping”, presumably either because the Leeds fans did not appreciate the man’s choice of chino or they reckoned that would have been time better spent than watching his side lose away.
Luckily, the fan took it all in good nature and at one point began leading the home fans in an “ole!” chant.
Fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, were loving the chants.
One fan wrote: “I really enjoy the commitment to the bit.”
    Most read in Football
Another wrote: “This is absolutely superb. Well done #LUFC”
A third fan wrote: “Ironically, I reckon 50% of that Leeds stand are probably wearing chinos.”
The Plymouth fan very nearly had the last laugh, however, with Plymouth almost mounting an unlikely comeback.
Leeds were dominant throughout the game, after goals from Dan James in the 21st minute and Joel Piroe in the 28th had them leading 2-0 for the majority of it.
But an 84th minute Ben Waine goal ensured a nervy end for Leeds with Plymouth piling on the pressure late on.
Victory has Leeds in third place, eight points off an automatic promotion spot.
And it showed who was really wearing the trousers yesterday afternoon. More

The away team, Universitario, won 2-0 to seal their first championship title in 10 years.
It was a victory reminiscent of Arsenal’s famous 2-0 win at Anfield in 1989 that saw them pip Liverpool to the Division 1 title on the final day of the season.

That was when Alianza appeared to pull an unbelievable act of “pettiness” against their foes.

The stadium lights went off and the ground was plunged into darkness in a bid to prevent the Universitario players and staff from celebrating.
Fans around the world were left absolutely stunned by the move from the departing champions.
SunSport columnist Piers Morgan joked the same could happen if Tottenham seal the Premier League title against his beloved Arsenal at the Emirates.
