England new-boy Toney slams ‘cringey’ Arsenal after ‘nice kickabout with the boys’ Twitter jibe following Brentford loss

IVAN TONEY branded Arsenal “cringey” for their Twitter jibes. The England new boy enraged the Gunners by posting “Nice kickabout with the boys” after his Brentford side beat them 2-0 last season.
Ivan Toney was amused at first but now thinks Arsenal stars have gone too far by copying his tweet twiceCredit: Getty
Defender Gabriel was the second Gunner to repeat Ivan Toney’s message – after Arsenal won 3-0 at Brentford on Sunday
That tweet was repeated by Alexandre Lacazette when Arsenal defeated the Bees at the Emirates last term — and again by Gabriel when his team won 3-0 at Brentford on Sunday.
But striker Toney — called up by England for the first time before Friday’s clash with Italy — said: “Once was funny but the second time was a bit cringey.
“I bit my tongue, I wanted to reply, I wanted to nibble.
“But fair play to them, they played very well. They are a different Arsenal side to what we played before. They are doing well.”
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta also used Toney’s original “kickabout” tweet as motivation to fire up his troops before last season’s return match.
But Toney, with five goals in seven games this campaign, reckons he could score even more playing for a club such as Arsenal or Manchester City.
He said: “It is easy to say if I was in their team I would score goals but when you play teams like them they dominate possession.
“So in theory you are more likely to score goals and have a lot more opportunities.

“But you still have to put it in the back of the net so until I am there, who knows?
“Hopefully one day I will be in their shoes and have that opportunity to score goals like Erling Haaland and Gabriel Jesus.” More

And Woodley, who twice lost to Paul, beat three others in the vote.
Paul asked his former opponent: “You down to do this in January in the US? 180 pounds?”
To which Woodley, 40, claimed he was ready to fight right now.
KSI, 29, responded: “Jake Paul really got you on a leash…”
The YouTuber was set to return against Alex Wassabi, 32, but the American pulled out amid a concussion scare.
Woodley offered to step in on late notice, but instead KSI fought rapper Swarmz, 25, and so-called professional boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda, 23.

So he responded to KSI: “And i’ll dog walk your ass so now what? You Wouldnt accept a fight on 2 weeks notice.
“Instead you fought 2 weak ass warm ups. You know my people run the play and put your money where your mouth is!

“Otherwise keep my name out your mouth before you get slapped in it.”
Woodley was beaten by Paul on points in August 2021 and then got knocked out in their short-notice rematch last December.

Posting the KO, KSI jibed: “Both your fights against Jake were ass. So boring to watch.
“Only reason I would fight you is to show everyone how ass you both are, by beating you in a quicker time lmao.”
Woodley remains in contention to fight KSI in January, along with Conor McGregor’s training partner Dillon Danis, 29.
Meanwhile Paul faces UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, in his comeback fight on October 29 in Arizona.

Tuchel was removed from his job following last night’s shock 1-0 defeat at Dinamo Zagreb.
Potter is now reportedly on his way to London to discuss the vacancy with the Chelsea hierarchy, who want a new man in place as soon as Saturday.
And his appointment could leave many Blues fans happy – not least a club legend.
Terry was full of praise for the ex-Swansea coach a little over two weeks ago on Twitter.

While Brighton have had a stunning start to the season, Chelsea have faltered.
Transfer business and falling out with players were central to the turbulent times at Stamford bridge which led to Tuchel’s sacking.
Potter is far from the only man linked to the job, with the likes of ex-Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino and former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane also in the frame.

Chelsea fans are also already thinking about the new backroom staff – and some have said they would like to get Terry back to the club, if not as manager than assistant.
One person on Twitter said: “John Terry is the perfect replacement for Thomas Tuchel.”
Referencing Terry’s tweet about Potter, another mischievous fan said: “Part of me feels like now this was moving behind the scenes. ‘Ticks every box for me’ lol Terry knew something was cooking and Boehly would sack Tuchel sooner rather than later.” More

Fans not impressed as Arsenal wear ‘basic £10 Adidas grey socks’ vs Man Utd

However, their kit man was forced into action after it emerged their black socks would clash with United’s, which were the same colour.
That led to Arsenal instead lining-up in grey and black socks – and eagle-eyed supporters soon realised that they were just standard Adidas ones rather than official club ones.
They featured the sport manufacturers logo on the front rather than the back.
Footy Headlines then claimed that they were the Adidas Adi Sock 21 model, which retail at £13, but can also be bought for around a tenner.

One fan did point out that they had been worn before – although it was goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale that has donned them previously.
However, those that noticed soon took to Twitter to take the mick out of the sock mishap.
One wrote: “Those Arsenal socks look like white socks that’ve been in the washing machine with the dark laundry too often.”
Another said: “Arsenal socks not even original.”

While a fellow supporter commented: “The arsenal away kit is one of the nicest they’ve ever had, but those grey socks are so ugly.”
Arsenal’s mood soon turned to black as they were left fuming when VAR ruled out an opener from Gabriel Martinelli.
United new boy Antony then broke the deadlock just before half time but the Gunners equalised through Bukayo Saka – despite him having a number of noticeable holes in his socks.
But a double from Marcus Rashford sealed a 3-1 victory for United as they inflicted a first defeat of the season on Arsenal. More

Arsenal fans fume at each other as #EduOut trends on Twitter with fans slamming transfers despite perfect season start

THERE may be some trouble in paradise at Arsenal.Despite starting their best start to a season since 2004, some fans are still not happy.

A section of supporters have been left frustrated by the club’s late summer transfer business.
Over £100million was spent on Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos earlier in the window.
But they did not make a signing on transfer deadline day, despite injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny.
Late attempts were made to sign Douglas Luiz, but Aston Villa were adamant the midfielder was not for sale.

Arsenal also chose not to bring in a new winger after allowing Nicolas Pepe to join Nice on loan.
And it hasn’t gone down well with a portion of the fanbase, as some sensationally believe transfer chief Edu should be sacked.
The hashtag “EduOut” was even trending on Twitter as supporters vented their fury.
One wrote: “Letting Pepe go without signing a replacement is a sackable offence #EduOut.”

Another said: “Imagine not replacing our 72 mill winger Pepe, not replacing Partey/Elneny and leaving us short for players when we have 9 games to play in October and a s*** load more… and people thought the ambition from the club was there. Shambles #EduOut.”
“I think it’s time Edu leaves tbh. He really can’t negotiate a sizeable sale or a player price down. #EduOut.”
Meanwhile, other Arsenal fans were left staggered that some want Edu to leave after this summer’s business.
Jesus’ £45m arrival already looks a bargain after three goals and three assists in five games, while £32m for Zinchenko is a snip too.
One supporter angrily wrote: “You lot are so stupid with this #EduOut. We got some stupid fans!”

Another said: “I hate football Twitter. Why is #EduOut trending after our best windows in recent history. Clowns.”
