Language included the use of the N-word and derogatory references to her skin colour.
In a written statement West Ham said they were “disgusted by the hateful content”.
The club, whose WSL side face Reading at home on Sunday, have since passed the abusive posts to the police.
The Irons also reported accounts that targeted Cissoko to “the relevant” social media firms.

“The defender received a red card for clashing with an opponent in the closing stages of the Hammers’ battling 2-1 victory at the Bescot Stadium.
“While we in no way condone Hawa’s actions on the pitch, for which she has apologised, everyone at the club is disgusted by the hateful content of the online messages subsequently sent to her.
“They have been passed directly to the police and reported to the relevant social media companies.”
The club added: “There is no place for this in society and we condemn it unreservedly.
“Hawa continues to receive the full support of everyone at the Club, including through our dedicated Employee Assistance Programme, which provides care and protection for the wellbeing of all staff.

It is claimed the relationship between the player and club is “completely broken” and that there is “no way back”.
Now more detail has come out, with a Mediapart investigation alleging that PSG have created fake Twitter accounts to lead campaigns against various outlets and employees of the club.
One of those is reportedly star player Mbappe.
An example given comes from March 2019 when there was speculation surrounding Mbappe joining Real Madrid.

The forward came out and stated he was happy at PSG despite them having just been eliminated from the Champions League.
And an account going by the name of Paname Squad – which Mediapart allege was provided with information by PSG – congratulated Mbappe on his decision, while insisting he “work in silence”.
The same account then slammed the decision to give him the Ligue 1 player of the year award.
Meanwhile, PSG have denied allegations accusing them of creating a smear campaign.

Just hours after it was revealed that Mbappe wants a transfer away from the French capital, sensational reports stated he had already signed a deal to join Real Madrid. More

LUCY BRONZE reckons more education is needed after Iker Casillas allegedly shared a social media post that appeared to suggest he was coming out.Her comments follow a tweet posted via the ex-Real Madrid star’s Twitter account which read: “I hope you respect me: I’m gay”.

The former Real Madrid goalkeeper claimed his Twitter account had been hacked after the post was later deletedCredit: AFP
The post, published on Sunday evening, was later deleted with Casillas claiming his account had been hacked.
The former Spain goalkeeper, 41, faced a backlash from social media users after the tweet prompted homophobic comments from multiple Twitter accounts.
Bronze is a champion of BT Sport’s Hope not Hate campaign against online abuse.
And the England star believes more conversations need to be had to make social media platforms and the real world better places for people within the LGBTQ+ community.
The Barcelona full-back, 30, told reporters said: “Obviously at the beginning, no one really knew it was a joke,” Bronze said.
“But I think the reaction that has been had on social media from the beginning of not knowing what it was to then thinking it was a joke, to thinking it was hacked.

“Whatever it was, the reaction just shows that there still needs to be a lot of education and a lot more openness about these kinds of subjects because that kind of reaction wasn’t normal.
“It shows that there is still a lot of education and still a lot of conversations to be had to make the world and social media better places.
“Places where people are more comfortable to have open conversations.”
Prior to deleting the tweet, which had 250,000 likes, Casillas received a response from former Barcelona skipper Carlos Puyol, which appeared to take things further.

The ex-Nou Camp star, 44, who won 18 major trophies with Barca, tweeted a reply which said, ‘It’s time to tell our story, Iker’, alongside emojis of a kiss and a heart.
However, Casillas deleted the post after an hour and later wrote: “Hacked account. Luckily everything in order.

“Apologies to all my followers. And of course, more apologies to the LGBT community.”
And Puyol also published an apology following his post stating: “I messed up. I’m sorry for a bad joke which had no bad intention, which was totally out of place.
“I understand that I may have hurt someone’s feelings. All my respect and support towards the LGBTQ+ community.”

Casillas’s and Puyol’s actions prompted anger within the LGBTQ+ community and dismay from several current and retired football aces.
Earlier today campaign group Football vs Homophobia tweeted: “The FVH campaign would like to thank those from the LGBTQ+ community and allies who challenged the homophobia seen across social media on Sunday as a result of the tweets posted by Iker Casillas and Carlos Puyol.

“We note that apologies have been made by both former players.
“The consequences of their clumsy joke were a reminder of how, despite recent advances, men’s football and its culture can often be unwelcoming and unsafe for gay and bisexual players, coaches, match officials and fans.
“We continue to encourage everyone in football to create those inclusive spaces.” More

What did Iker Casillas say on Twitter?

IKER CASILLAS has come under fire after a tweet was posted to his account that made it appear as if he was coming out as gay.The former Real Madrid goalkeeper seems to have deleted the post shortly afterwards, with many fans commenting on the controversy.
What did Iker Casillas say on Twitter?
A post was made on Iker Casillas’ Twitter account on Sunday, October 9, 2022, saying: “I hope you respect me: I’m gay.”
Spanish publication AS claimed that this was a bid to stop tabloids in Spain writing about the 2010 World Cup winner.
However, in the afternoon of the same day, Iker Casillas tweeted once again, this time claiming that he was not the one that made the previous post, but that he was hacked.
    He said: “Hacked account.

“And of course, more apologies to the LGBT community.”
In March 2021, Casillas confirmed that he and his ex-wife, sports journalist Sara Carbonero, had parted ways, after being married for five years and having two children.
In September 2022, he was rumoured to be dating Gerard Pique’s former partner Shakira, however, he put an end to the claims.
    What was Carles Puyol’s response?
Former Barcelona centre-back Carles Puyol was one of the highest-profile people to respond to Casillas’ tweet.

He said: “The time has come to tell our story, Iker.”
The tweet gathered many furious replies from Twitter users such as Jonny Sharples – a popular England fan.
He said: “Iker Casillas and Carles Puyol’s tweets were pathetic and all they’ve achieved is to embolden the homophobic attitudes that are already rife within football and within football fandom.
“Slow progress is being made, things like this simply make it even slower.”
As a sport, football has been under scrutiny for its culture and the lack of homosexual players in the male game.
As of 2022, there is only one player that is openly gay and is playing in England’s top four divisions.
That is Jake Daniels, a forward for Blackpool who came out in May 2022.
Meanwhile, some argue that is very difficult for male footballers to come out as gay because bodies such as FIFA do not take them into consideration.

The next FIFA World Cup, kicking off in November 2022, will be held in Qatar – a country in which laws prohibit anyone to be lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender and it punishes any same-sex relations.
ITV argued in an article that this reason is why there are more female footballers openly gay rather than male because their tournaments are not held in such countries. More
