Relive Liverpool vs Arsenal through Piers Morgan’s roller coaster Twitter feed, from half-time taunt to ‘torture’ tweet

SUN columnist Piers Morgan didn’t hold back while watching an absolute rollercoaster of a clash between Liverpool and his beloved Arsenal.Piers witnessed the Gunners’ Premier League title hopes being dealt a blow after a last-gasp 2-2 draw against the Reds at Anfield.
Piers Morgan didn’t hold back on Twitter during Liverpool vs Arsenal
The TV personality’s pre-match confidence paid off after just eight minutes when Gabriel Martinelli put the the North Londoners ahead.
Mikel Arteta’s men then doubled their lead only 20 minutes later with Gabriel Jesus, who showed quite the timing on Easter Sunday – an irony caught up by many, including the TalkTV presenter.
But Mohamed Salah put the Merseysiders back on the game with a strike just three minutes before half-time.
Piers, however, felt confident at half-time as he treated himself with a cuppa on his favourite mug and taunted Liverpool fans… a little too soon.

Tension started to build up afterwards with players getting on each others’ faces and the 58-year-old begging usual suspect Granit Xhaka not to see red.
But the first-half dominance gave way to “torture”, which became too much for the SunSport columnist who almost saw his team crumble on 54 minutes when Salah missed a penalty.
Aaron Ramsdale went on to produce some vital saves, which led to the broadcaster channelling in his inner Meg Ryan.
But Sally quickly turned into Jack Torrance as Arsenal conceded a last-gasp equaliser by Roberto Firmino just three minutes before full-time.

Fans quickly took to social media to let their voices heard and took a cheeky swipe at Piers.
One supporter tweeted: “That was coming.”
Another posted: “North London, the kings of bottling titles.”
A third commented: “Runners up is still pretty good though.”

Real Madrid’s Valverde ‘waits for opponent in car park and punches him in face after alleged sick joke about his child’

FEDERICO VALVERDE allegedly punched Villarreal’s Alex Baena in the face after Real Madrid’s loss at the Bernabeu. The Los Blancos midfielder was reportedly enraged by an alleged comment by Baena, 21, about his wife’s pregnancy scare during a Copa del Rey match between the clubs from January.

But Baena has taken to Twitter to deny the allegations.
The feud between the pair is said to have spilled into this weekend’s league meeting with the two clashing during the game.
Valverde is then reported to have confronted Baena in the car park outside the Bernabeu where the team buses were, according to The Athletic.
The 24-year-old allegedly punched Baena during the incident, with sources in Spain claiming that Villarreal have video footage of the alleged incident.

Marca claim Valverde punched Baena in the face.
In a tweet retweeted by Villarreal’s official Twitter account, Baena said: “Very happy with the team’s impressive victory in a venue like the Santiago Bernabéu, but at the same time very sad for the aggression I suffered after the game and surprised by what is being said about me.
“IT IS COMPLETELY FALSE THAT I SAID THAT.”
The Athletic also have a screenshot of a now-deleted tweet from Villarreal club official Xisco Nadal where he branded Valverde “a coward”.

Valverde’s wife, Mina Bonino, is reported to have had pregnancy complications with the couple’s second child earlier this year.
But thankfully the unborn baby is healthy and in March Bonino took a picture on Instagram where she told followers she believed she was “six months into it”.
Real Madrid fell to defeat to Villarreal after conceding two goals in the final 20 minutes with Samuel Chukwueze scoring a stunning winning strike.
Vinicius Junior scored a fantastic solo goal of his own to give Real Madrid the lead early in the second-half but his work would ultimately be undone.
Madrid now trail Barcelona by 12 points with their table-topping rivals still having a game in hand in La Liga.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have more realistic chances of silverware in the Copa del Rey where they stunned Barca in midweek to grab a place in the final.
They also have the more immediate task of trying to get past Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in the Champions League.

The Match of the Day host said he didn’t know why his blue tick had disappearedCredit: Twitter
It comes after Lineker caused a storm with one of his Tweets – where he likened Suella Braverman’s migrant boats plan to “Germany in the ’30s”.
This saw BBC suspend the host from his Match of the Day duties, after it deemed the post to be in breach of its guidelines.
However it later apologised, and Lineker returned to air.
Fans took to the social media platform this afternoon questioning why Lineker didn’t have the noticeable blue tick anymore.

He quickly replied on Twitter and said: “No idea. I’m under review apparently.”
Match of the Day co-host Alan Shearer then chimed in, jokingly quizzing Lineker’s authenticity.
He Tweeted, with a winking emoji: “Is this really you!!?”
Other social media users also suggested Lineker hadn’t been paying any money towards being verified.

To which he said: “I’ve actually been paying it for a while. Only for the ‘edit’ button, but nevertheless.”
The blue tick shows a Twitter account is verified, or that the user subscribes to Twitter Blue.
Lineker’s account being “under review” comes just weeks after his future on the Beeb appeared to be up in the air.
This followed his Tweet regarding the Illegal Migration Bill.
Tory MPs slammed the tweet as “foul, ill-conceived and disgraceful”, while Downing Street said his language was “not acceptable and disappointing to see”.
In a statement after the backlash, BBC said it had “decided that he will step back from presenting Match of the Day until we’ve got an agreed and clear position on his use of social media.”
Lineker’s co-hosts on the show, Ian Wright and Shearer, also pulled out in support if their colleague.
Director General Tim Davie apologised for the “difficult period” for staff, presenters and audiences after his embarrassing climbdown.
And within a matter of days, Lineker was back on air and told fans on his return: “It’s great to be here.” More

KSI, whose real name is Olajide William Olatunji, quickly backtracked and apologised.
The influencer said there was “no excuse” for using the term – which he said deeply hurt South Asian communities.
In the days after he caused the uproar, the 29-year-old visited a mosque and spoke to the imam.
And now a video has been posted to Twitter of him at a Sikh temple in Kent.

In the clip the Youtuber-turn boxer, who has 12.7 million Instagram followers, can be seen chatting and laughing away at Siri Guru Nanak Darbar Gudwara.
KSI was forced to make a public apology after he said the racial slur in a now-deleted video.
The influencer was taking part in a ‘Countdown challenge’ stunt with a group of influencers called The Sidemen.
Much like the hit daytime English and maths quiz show, the group had to try to come up with a nine-letter word using the characters on the screen.

It was then that KSI said his team “need points” and spat out the term.
Fellow hosts Chunkz and Filly fell about laughing at KSI’s answer, while he jokingly said “sorry”.
But, the moment sparked fury online.
BBC presenter Bobby Friction posted: “I had this racial slur thrown at me and got physical beats by racists for my entire childhood.
“Genuinely upset that KSI (a guy my children love) did this and thought it was funny.
“The rest of them laughing can go f*** themselves too. People dehumanising brown people like it’s normal.”
Meanwhile, teacher and broadcaster Mehreen Baig added the comments and reaction was “horrifically disappointing from KSI and his crew”.
Renowned health presenter Dr Ranj Singh blasted the internet sensation saying: “I’m not just upset, I’m disgusted.”
KSI – whose YouTube videos have clocked up over 11 billion views – issued a grovelling apology on Twitter just hours after Sunday’s incident.
He wrote: “I wanna apologise for saying a racial slur in a recent Sidemen video.
“There’s no excuse, no matter the circumstances, I shouldn’t have said it and I’m sorry.
“I’ve always said to my audience that they shouldn’t worship me or put me on a pedestal because I’m human.
“I’m not perfect, I’m gonna mess up in life, and lately I’ve been messing up a lot.”

KSI wrapped up the statement by saying he was also going to take a break from social media.
He then repeated his apology ahead of his fight with Joe Fournier on Wednesday.
The rapper said: “I want to take this opportunity to offer my deepest and most sincere apologies for my words and actions.
“In a recent video I used a racial term that is offensive to so, so many especially in the South Asian community.
“There are no excuses for what I said and I recognise that I’ve caused a lot of hurt and disappointment to so many people that look up to me, and my ignorance has only reinforced the negative stereotypes that have existed for way too long in this country.
“I want to express my heartfelt regret for what I said and I want you to know I am genuinely ashamed and deeply sorry for any pain or suffering I have caused.
“I realise my words have consequences and as a public figure I have a responsibility to use my platform for good rather than perpetuating discrimination and this week I have failed to do this.”
The Sidemen also took to social media and said the clip “was completely unacceptable and inexcusable”.

The British rapper, real name Olajide William Olatunji, made the slur during a video with his YouTube group, where they were playing a Countdown challenge.
From his selection of letters, KSI caused outrage by creating a four-letter derogatory word for people of South Asian origin.
The video has been taken down and he issued an apology for an offence he may have caused.
However, fans have criticised the 29-year-old despite his apology, claiming he should have known better.

And this isn’t the first time the popular YouTuber has found himself in hot water, having courted headlines for a number of wrong reasons over the years.
    ‘Rape jokes’
KSI was accused of trivialising rape by making what was referred to as “rape faces” in a series of his online videos.
The clips show the star in a variety of settings, turning to camera with a menacing expression and making sexually suggestive gestures.
Many said pulling his “rape face”, which would regularly appear in his videos, trivialised sexual assault.
    Most read in Boxing
He apologised for his past content in 2020 after a backlash from women’s charities and social media users.
    Sexist behaviour
KSI sparked controversy in 2012 when he asked women at Eurogamer Expo what STIs they have.
He asked one woman what was her “favourite STI”, to which she reluctantly replied “chlamydia”.
KSI then asked her: “Is that because you have it?”
Another part of the clip saw him quiz a woman at the gaming conference about the size of her breasts, stating: “I can’t see them?”
That video has seen been removed from YouTube, with KSI later expressing his regret over the incident.
He said: “I’m in shock. I can’t believe I was like that. People enjoyed that video?!
“I can see now why I got into a lot of trouble. I was such a virgin back then.
“I think if I do anything remotely close to this again, I will change my whole outfit so I can show people that I’m a different character.”
He was banned for life from Eurogamer Expo events.
    Microsoft axing
In 2013, Microsoft severed all ties with KSI after the company was criticised for employing him to promote the launch of Xbox One.
KSI had performed a song with three other artists but Microsoft faced backlash from fans.
Widespread anger and concern over his involvement saw Microsoft vow not to work with him again at any point.
    Offensive remarks
In another YouTube video, uploaded in August 2014, KSI asks a Page 3 model about her sex life, while repeatedly calling her a sl*t in the voiceover.
He has also since apologised for his behaviour with a spokesman saying he had made a “mistake as a teenager”.
While in 2021, KSI issued an apology after being accused of being transphobic something he strongly denied.
    Suicide controversy
In 2018, KSI released a new diss track music video with a Logan Paul look-alike ahead of their boxing fight.
The video was made in reference to Logan’s scandalous Suicide Forest footage which landed his fellow YouTuber in very hot water.

Despite how controversial that video was for his Prime drink partner – who was then a rival – KSI decided to make light of the situation.
