    The Spanish tactician still has a soft spot for the Toon and proved it on Twitter after the Tyneside giants made it to the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.
    However, the ex-Liverpool boss put together a funny typo as he mistook the iconic “Howay the lads” slogan with a famous cowboy greeting and wrote “Howdy the lads”.
    Benitez issued a photo showing Newcastle players as well as manager Eddie Howe celebrating and tweeted: “Congratulations to all involved. Howdy the lads.”
    The ex-Real Madrid manager quickly realised his mistake and deleted the tweet.

    But some Newcastle fans managed to get a screenshot and enjoyed some friendly banter as they still appreciated the gesture from their former manager.
    One fan tweeted: “Rafa Benitez tweeted “Howdy the lads!” Instead of “Howay the lads!” Yeehaw.”
    Another posted: “I reckon howdy the lads might take off y’know, especially on our USA tour in pre-season. Rafa Benitez, marketing genius.”
    A third commented: “Rafa Benitez accidentally tweeting then deleting “Howdy the lads!” is sending me west.”

    The hilarious attempt at taking the TV and radio star out for dinner came crashing down after Woods made sure the fan knew that wouldn’t be happening.

    WEST HAM fans have been left convinced that Declan Rice will leave this summer after his brother was spotted in conversation with David Moyes.The midfielder, 24, is heavily linked with a move away from the Hammers this Summer, as his contract continues to run down.

    Rice enters the final year of his contract this summer but West Ham do have the option to extend by a further year.
    The Hammers captain produced another dominant midfield performance during Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Leeds and topped it off with his fifth goal of the season.
    But eagle-eyed West Ham fans were left heartbroken by what his brother appeared to say to Moyes.
    Fans on Twitter believed they could see Declan’s brother mouth “final game” as he engaged in conversation with the manager.

    Other fans also thought they noticed a difference in Rice’s demeanour during the match.
    In a video posted on Twitter, Rice appeared to be savouring the final moments of Sunday’s clash with Leeds, looking up at the stands of the Olympic Stadium wistfully.
    The fan who posted the video on Twitter captioned it “Don’t overthink it, don’t overthink it.”
    But with Rice’s contract entering its final year, and the midfielder refusing to sign a new deal, that’s exactly what West Ham fans will be doing.

    While being questioned by a BBC reporter, the 45-year-old quenched his thirst with a bottle of Stella, and fans absolutely loved it.

    The tweet has been deleted and Ruiz took to Instagram claiming his account was hacked.
    As well as four photos, the tweet shared the message: “I wanted to share with you what my life behind camp is really like!
    “I love to drink codeine and smoke weed all day long.
    “I also love purchasing prostitutes. After this is going to meetings to clean my blood to make sure to come out clean when VADA comes to my training camps.”

    Ruiz has faced a lot of upheaval in recent weeks including splitting from his ex-wife Julie Lemus.
    Julie reportedly kicked the heavyweight boxer out after it emerged he was dating social media star Mayeli Alonso.
    Despite the former heavyweight champion and Julie having reportedly been separated for some time, his new relationship with Mayeli is said to have enraged his ex.
    Ruiz, 33, has not fought since beating Luis Ortiz in September 2022 but he is targeting a blockbuster clash next.

    Disgustingly, one online troll – who says he is a Peterborough fan on his bio – replied to her post by saying: “Sl*t.”
    But Woods needed just five minutes to form the perfect response.

    The comeback left her followers in hysterics as they poured in to praise the presenter.

    Meanwhile, Woods, who can be seen on Sky Sports and ITV, is being linked with a move to BT Sport following the announcement that Jake Humphrey is leaving his position.

    F1 star seen shovelling mud in Italy as Yuki Tsunoda helps flood relief effort with locals struggling to find food

    The devastation has also had a knock-on to the sporting calendar with this weekend’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix cancelled.
    But one F1 star is making sure to play their part in the relief efforts.
    Alpha Tauri driver Tsunoda has been pictured helping to clean up floods in the area.
    The 23-year-old and other members of his team have been scooping water and mud from shops to help out locals and residents.

    Alpha Tauri’s headquarters is based in Faenza, one of the cities in northern Italy hit by the floods.
    Earlier this week the Japanese racer appealed to his followers on Twitter to help out however they could.
    He said: “After a horrible night, the town is heavily impacted: “dust, mud, and the smell of gasoline everywhere.
    “Currently people are struggling to find food and especially places to stay after many have been evacuated from their own homes.

    “Please anything you can do to help is appreciated.”
    Fans lauded Tsunoda for his efforts to raise awareness and help victims of the flood.
    One hailed him as the “driver of the day” while another said “he should get pole position and p1 automatically without the race.”
    While another fan added: “Yuki inspires me a lot. He is a real hero and a healthy person!”
    Tsunoda has enjoyed a strong start to the season despite the clear limitations of the Alpha Tauri.
    He has finished 10th or 11th in every race this season and impressed fans in his third campaign in F1.

    A local news outlet has described a “grim atmosphere” as footie fans in hoodies sparked fights earlier this evening.
    In footage shared to social media, one person was captured being horrifically attacked by a group, with one member using what looked like a bicycle as a weapon.
    On Twitter, more clips revealed large swarms of fans racing through the streets holding what appears to be chairs.
    It is understood West Ham supporters were caught up in the mix when Alkmaar and FC Groningen fans brawled.

    This comes after AZ Alkmaar fans attempted to disrupt the semi-final by setting off fire works outside West Ham’s team hotel.
    One fan was even hit by a stray rocket, as seen in video clips, and hooded figures fled the area.
    West Ham played the first leg of the semi-final at home last Thursday and won 2-1.
    The team has reverted to their strongest available line-up for the second leg tonight as they try to reach their first European final in 47 years.

    David Moyes made nine changes from the Premier League defeat by Brentford on Sunday with Declan Rice, Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio among those coming back in.
    The two teams will play at the AFAS Stadion Stadium, which holds nearly 19,5000 fans – of which around 5,000 are expected to be there for West Ham tonight.
