Romano backed up those rumours but revealed it is Paris Saint-Germain who have spoken to the midfielder’s representatives, not City.
The journalist also spoke about Ronaldo’s future – suggesting it hinders on the superstar speaking to incoming boss Erik ten Hag.

Spanish outlet Fichajes claim Bayern Munich are the latest club to be interested in Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of this season and seems set to leave on a free.
PSG, Real Madrid and a return to Juventus are all possible destinations.
There is even the chance he switches red for blue as Man City are also rumoured to be keen.
His replace at Man Utd looks set to be Frenkie De Jong as he nears completion of his move.
Xavi gives green light to De Jong deal
Frenkie de Jong’s transfer to Manchester United has reportedly been signed off by Barcelona boss Xavi, in a huge boost to the Red Devils.
Deportes Cuatro report that the transfer will be completed in the following weeks for a fee in excess of the £64m Barcelona paid to sign De Jong from Ajax.
De Jong was of Barcelona’s standout performers under Ronald Koeman, but Xavi has been less impressed with him.

David De Gea was quick to poke fun at Victor Lindelof after the defender posed in a photoshoot for H&M.
The third-choice Manchester United centre-back proudly announced his new role as an ambassador for the retail company on social media.

Came on in the 75th minute. The damage was already done especially with him replacing Gabriel after his injury.

The Norwegian’s press pushed the Gunners up the pitch well in the first few minutes and looked to be dictating the game.
Was arguably their best player and the only one to leave Tottenham’s ground with any satisfaction as he had a late effort well stopped by Lloris.

Was running riot in the first couple of minutes and looked a real threat. Even down to ten men he led the line albeit with no real success.

The Gunners were dealt a huge blow in their race for Champions League qualification as Spurs ran riot with a one man advantage.
Aaron Ramsdale – 7/10
Nothing he could do about the penalty, up against one of the best 12-yard takers in world football.
Neither could he be blamed for the other two goals with the mess that was in front of him, and made decent stops to deny Emerson and Kane.
Cedric Soares- 4/10
Gave away the penalty with a shove on Son in the box that was not needed. Tried to make up for it with a few lung-busting runs to keep up with Kane.
Yet it was that penalty that sparked the capitulation for Arsenal.
Rob Holding 1/10
Got into a few niggly tussles with Son Heung-min and his ego of wanting to knock the Spurs forward off the ball earned him an unnecessary early yellow card.
He then completely lost the plot after a needless off the ball collision with Son earned him a 34th minute red card.
Gabriel 5/10
Hardly Arsenal’s worst defender of the night but was caught short on a few occasions and let Harry Kane nutmeg him more than once.
Ended his night on a sour note after hobbling off with an injury.

Forced to play in an unnatural left-back role with Kieran Tierney missing.
He did little wrong and filled in at centre back after Rob Holding’s red card.

Worst defeat against Tottenham in 39 years
It was a disappointing night for the Gunners losing to North London rivals Spurs 3-0.
It was the first time in the Premier League era that Tottenham beat Arsenal by three or more goals.
Arsenal haven’t lost the derby by such a margin since 5-0 loss back in 1983.

Arsenal’s Champions League hopes have been dealt a huge blow by Tottenham.
Spurs inflicted a 3-0 loss on their London rivals in the tense Prem clash.
A Harry Kane double, along with a strike by Son was enough to give the home side a win.
Kane’s first goal was a penalty and he revealed that analysing Gunners keeper Aaron Ramsdale in England training helped him pick the right spot.
The Gunners are now just one point ahead of Tottenham with two games to go.
Arsenal’s cause wasn’t helped by defender Rob Holding who was sent off early on in the game after receiving two yellow cards for consecutive fouls on Spurs star Son Heung-min.
It’s safe to say Arteta didn’t agree with the ref’s decision to send off Holding.
The Spaniard claimed he’d be suspended for SIX MONTHS if he gave his opinion on referee Paul Tierney’s choices in the match.
Arteta fumed in his post-match interview: “If I say what I think I’ll be suspended for six months. Such a beautiful game was destroyed today.”
Holding’s dismissal, along with a hamstring injury to centre-back Gabriel Maghalaes, means Arsenal will likely have to field a make-shift defence for the rest of the season.
Elsewhere, the Gunners are eyeing Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin if they miss out on Manchester City ace Gabriel Jesus.
Fabrizio Romano claims the Gunners are lining up a new striker this summer.
And City slicker Jesus is at the top of Mikel Arteta’s list.
But the Spaniard is also prepared to go in for Calvert-Lewin should Pep Guardiola block Jesus’ exit.

However according to West Ham insider Claret and Hugh, they want to sign the 20-year-old on loan before any permanent outlay.

Nat Phillips set for permanent Bournemouth move
Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips is reportedly on the verge of signing for Bournemouth.
A deal could be worth £8million according to The Express.
The 25-year-old centre-back has spent the second half of the season on loan at the Cherries helping them clinch promotion back to the Premier League.
Manager Scott Parker is believed to be desperate to keep Phillips despite not having an option in the original loan deal to sign him permanently.

However, now Coutinho is thought to have cut his wages in order to force through a £17m move to play under Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, his former team-mate at Liverpool.
He had been earning an incredible £480,000-a-week at Barcelona – Villa had paid him £120,000 a week during his loan spell.
Ten Hag wants De Jong reunion

That led to speculation that Atletico wanted to terminate Griezmann’s two-season loan spell early after just one season.
However, MARCA have now claimed that the meeting was in fact to discuss a potential swap involving the French forward and striker Morata.
Barcelona were linked with the 29-year-old back in January with boss Xavi Hernandez believed to be a huge fan of the Spaniard.
But that potential move was complicated by the fact that Morata, who has 11 goals this term, still had six months left of his two-year loan at Juventus.

The Italian side do have the option to sign him permanently this summer for £30 million but have not yet decided to pursue it.
Meanwhile, Atletico will also have the opportunity to re-sign Griezmann, who left them for Barcelona back in 2019, in 2023 but are examining ways to avoid making the full payment.
And that is why these latest reports claim that Alemany and Gil Marin met to discuss plans that would enable the two clubs to swap players once the transfer window re-opens.
Neither man has been prolific during the current campaign, with Griezmann scoring just eight in 37 matches for Atletico.

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly eyeing a move for Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt.Incoming boss Erik ten Hag is planning a summer rebuild at United and it appears he is targeting players he has worked with previously.

De Ligt played under Ten Hag at Ajax before departing in 2019 but the Dutch pair could reunite at Old Trafford.
Journalist Oriol Domenech told colleague Gerard Romero on his Twitch stream that Ten Hag is looking to strike deals for De Ligt and his former team-mate Frenkie de Jong.
