A number of clubs have been linked with a swoop after he helped the LaLiga club to reach the Champions League semi-finals.
And now, with Sadio Mane potentially set to depart Anfield for Bayern Munich, one of those is allegedly Liverpool.
Speaking to Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport, he said: “I was informed that Liverpool were following me closely.
“I have never had contacts with clubs or anything like that during the season – I always know about the situation after the season. I will never lie and I think it’s a bad quality if you are not ambitious.

Danjuma’s compatriot is looking to bolster his attacking options ahead of his first season in charge and could be plotting a move himself.

The east Londoners tried to sign the Morocco international last summer but Ligue 1 side Rennes refused to sell.
West Ham have met with the player and his representatives while talks are down to the finer details with Rennes.
The final deal could reach around £30million with the Hammers now negotiating over add-ons and clauses with the French side.
Moyes battled through a defensive crisis across last season, with his side reaching the Europa League semi-finals and finishing 7th in the Premier League.

Craig Dawson also played through injury at times and Issa Diop struggled for form.
West Ham tried to sign Croatian Duje Caleta-Car from Marseille in January but could not agree a deal – but they are moving quickly to land Aguerd this summer.

Moyes is hoping to add a number of new faces as they push to get back into the Europa League or even Champions League next season.
A striker is a top priority with Chelsea’s Armando Broja and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins both well liked, while England duo James Ward-Prowse and Kalvin Phillips are both targets in midfield.
Moyes also wants to add a left-back this summer as he looks to upgrade on Aaron Cresswell.
The experienced full-back has been crucial to West Ham’s rise under Moyes but was twice sent off in the Europa League knockout stages, including in their semi-final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt. More

Liverpool great Graeme Souness added he even went to bed after the meeting thinking he was going to be appointed Manchester United manager.
That was before Sir Alex Ferguson managed to win a trophy at Old Trafford.
Souness concluded: “I went to bed thinking I was going to be the next manager of Man United.
“That would have gone down well wouldn’t it!”
    Graeme Sou close
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness claims he came close to replace Sir Alex Ferguson as Manchester United manager in the late 1980s before Fergie lifted a trophy.
Souness told Virgin Sport: “What happened [was] Michael Knighton appeared in Glasgow, he had an option for Martin Edwards.
“I think it was 75 per cent of Man United that Martin Edwards’ family had. He was getting out.
“There was a meeting with lawyers and it was agreed that David [Murray] would buy Man United and they shook hands on it and went to bed.
“And what was going to happen I was going to manage Man United, when Fergie was having a very difficult time”
    Raphinha transfer reminder
Leeds star Raphinha wants to join arch-rivals Manchester United instead of Barcelona.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Elland Road after playing a major role in keeping the Whites up in the Premier League.
The winger chipped in with 11 goals and three assists from 35 Premier League games to help Leeds beat the drop on the final game of the campaign.
Should the Yorkshire outfit have been relegated, the Brazil international would have been available for £21million due to a clause in his contract.
But it is believed that the forward will now cost in excess of £40m.
The figure hasn’t put off Barca, with the Blaugrana still prepared to bring the player to the Nou Camp
    ‘Very close’ to Nunez
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag looks set to secure Benfica star Darwin Nunez as the first signing of his reign.
An agreement between United and the Portuguese giants is said to be “very close” for Nunez, according to O Jogo.
The report claims the striker is a “priority” target for Ten Hag as he tries to find a centre-forward to bolster the Red Devils in attack.
The Uruguay international scored 34 goals across all competitions this season for the Eagles as they came third in the Primeira Liga and progressed into the Champions League quarter-finals
    Andy O’Boyle reminder
Manchester United appointed Andy O’Boyle as the new Deputy Director of Football.
O’Boyle has left his current role as Head of Elite Performance at the Premier League to work with United’s Football Director John Murtough.

EXCLUSIVE – Erik ten Hag watching Mason Mount’s contract situation at Chelsea
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is watching Mason Mount’s contract situation at Chelsea as he considers a shock move for the England star.
Mount has seen contract talks at Stamford Bridge stall following the protracted takeover of the club by Todd Boehly.
And his long-term future in West London is no longer secure.
New United boss Ten Hag is well aware of the 23-year-old’s predicament and United’s interest has already been registered with the player’s camp.

Ten Hag first became aware of Mount’s abilities when he impressed as a teenager on loan with Vitesse Arnheim in Holland.
The Old Trafford chief has tracked his progress closely ever since, and given the chance, it is believed he would jump at the opportunity to try to tempt him to the North West.
Despite being named the London club’s player of the year for a second time, Mount is one of the lowest paid in the squad at Stamford Bridge.
He still has two years left on his £88,000-a-week existing deal.
But the need for the Blues to completely rebuild their defence this summer has seen his contract talks fall down the list of priorities.
David Kidd Comment: Rangnick exit ends one of the oddest chapters
…Judging by Rangnick’s highly entertaining public criticisms of everyone and everything at United, as well as his team’s disastrous  performances, we can have a decent stab at imagining how the call went. Ten Hag: “Heh, Ralfie, how’s it hanging?”
Rangnick: “Erik! Yeah, so, basically the players are egotistical wasters and the board are incompetent muppets.”
Ten Hag: “OK, so what do you reckon I should do about it?
Rangnick: “F***ed if I know, mate.”
The Rangnick experiment was one of the oddest chapters in Premier League history.
A bookish German, who’d been ranked as a 12-1 shot alongside Alan Curbishley for every managerial vacancy in the previous decade,  suddenly handed the keys to Old Trafford.
It is easy to forget United finished second in the Premier League last year, then signed the greatest goalscorer the world has ever seen, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Then finished with their lowest-ever Premier League points total.
David Kidd Comment: Rangnick exit ends one of the oddest chapters
While Liverpool and Real Madrid were parading trophies, days after Manchester City had done the same, Manchester United were announcing the severance of all ties with Ralf Rangnick.
And with barely so much as a ‘See you later, innovator’.
Manchester United, surely you remember them? They used to win titles. Even after that, they still topped the Deloitte Football Money League.
And they still ‘do great numbers’ on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
In the actual football, not so much. Under Rangnick, United finished with six successive away defeats, an overall goal difference of zero and conceded a 35-point deficit to champions City.
When Rangnick was appointed interim manager in November, United’s ‘football director’ John Murtough heralded him as “one of the most respected coaches and innovators in European football”.
He also announced that Rangnick would take up a two-year consultancy after his caretaking was complete.
That consultancy role has now been scrapped, with Rangnick taking over Austria’s national job.
Instead, we’re told Rangnick held a two-hour ‘handover’ conversation on the phone with his successor, Erik ten Hag…
    Pre-match kit leaked
Images of Manchester United’s reported pre-match kit for the 2022-23 season have leaked online, and fans are loving it.
The warm-up shirts for the new campaign incorporate a red, black and white “tyre-track” design.
Pictures released by Footy Headlines show off a 1990s-inspired design.
One simply replied to the post of the new design saying: “Wow.”
Another added: “Right up my alley this.”
While a third even said: “Better than the home and away which I’ve seen so far.”

    Boost with Leeds star Raphinha
Raphinha wants to join Leeds’ arch-rivals Manchester United instead of Barcelona, reports claim.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Elland Road after playing a mjor role in keeping the Whites up.
Raphinha chipped in with 11 goals and three assists from 35 Premier League games to help Leeds beat the drop on the final game of the campaign.
Should the Yorkshire outfit have been relegated, the ex-Rennes ace would have been available for £21million due to a clause in his contract.
But it is believed that the forward will now cost in excess of £40m following their 2-1 win against Brentford.
The figure hasn’t put off Barcelona, with the Blaugrana still prepared to bring the player to the Nou Camp.
Glazers take total £18m out of club since going on NYSE
The Glazer family have taken out £18million in dividends from Manchester United each year since 2016, according to reports.
And a further £5m lines the pockets of other shareholders, writes Joshua Jones.
As reported by The Times, that £23m total was even paid out during the pandemic – despite the club making a financial loss.
The Red Devils owners drew out an £11m cash bonus in January.

United were placed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012, enabling investors to buy and sell shares in the club, in an attempt to try and tackle mounting debt.
Since then, the share price has dropped by almost 10 per cent – or $1.39 (£1.10) from $14 (£11.10) to its current price of $12.61 (£10).
It hit its peak at the end of August 2018 when the price climbed to $26.20 (£20.77).
The Glazers put an extra 9.5m shares totalling £137m on the NYSE last October, months after co-chairman Avram Glazer got rid of £70m worth of shares.
De Jong prefers Gunners over Man Utd
Arsenal have advantage over Manchester United in the fight for Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong because of his hero Marc Overmars.
The Dutchman spoke to Voetbal International back in 2019.
De Jong said: “I actually thought Arsenal was pretty beautiful in the past.
“In my mind, I have had the following list for a long time: Ajax-Arsenal-Barcelona, call it the Marc Overmars route.
“But yes, if you can go directly to Barcelona, then you are also right where you want to be. Faster than you ever dared to dream.”

    Murtough on O’Boyle
United’s Football Director John Murtough has spoken about the appointment of Andy O’Boyle.
Murtough said: “We are delighted to welcome Andy back to Manchester United to take up this important role in the club’s leadership.
“Andy has experience across all technical areas of football, from fitness and sports science to scouting and recruitment.
“This will make him a valuable addition to my team at Carrington as we continue to strengthen leadership and strategic planning across all our football activities.”
    O’Boyle excited by the prospect
New deputy director of football Andy O’Boyle – who previously spent five years as head of fitness and first team fitness coach at Liverpool – is “thrilled” to join United.
O’Boyle told Man Utd’s official site that it was an exciting time to join the club.
New Chief Executive Richard Arnold is making sweeping changes across the club including the appointment of new manager Erik Ten Hag.
And O’Boyle said : “I am thrilled to be rejoining Manchester United at such an exciting time for the club, as the first team prepares for a fresh start under Erik ten Hag, and the Academy and women’s teams go from strength to strength.
“I can’t wait to get started at United and play my part in creating the right environment for football success.”
United hire new deputy director of football
Manchester United’s revamp of their football department has continued with the appointment of a new Deputy Director of Football.
Andy O’Boyle has left his current role as Head of Elite Performance at the Premier League to work with United’s Football Director John Murtough.
He will help with the club’s strategy across the first team, academy and youth team.
O’Boyle is well acquainted with Carrington having worked in the academy 16 years ago helping to develop players like Marcus Rashford.
    Henderson ‘good choice’ for Newcastle
Jose Enrique reckons Man Utd’s Dean Henderson is a “good choice” for Newcastle.
The Keeper could be available on loan this summer.
Enrique told Genting Casino: I would definitely sign Dean Henderson. I’ve said I like him a lot in the past. He’s a great goalkeeper.
“Dubravka is doing well but Henderson would be a good fit in the long run and Newcastle’s back-ups aren’t good enough at the moment.
“Henderson will be looking for a move too as with the form De Gea is in now, he’s not going to play.”
    Jur in luck
Manchester United are reportedly in preliminary talks with Ajax to bring centre-back Jurrien Timber to Old Trafford, writes Jake Lambourne.
It was reported in April how new Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag was looking to bring the 20-year-old to the Theatre of Dreams with him.
Timber’s representatives fuelled speculation that a transfer was on the horizon earlier this month when they posted a clip at an airport with the caption “deal closing time”.

Bayern Munich are also interested in the Holland international, but it is claimed that United are leading the race to secure his services.
The Guardian claims that negotiations with Ajax are at an initial stage and Ten Hag is keen to make Timber one of his first signings.
Utd’s new 2022-23 away kit leaked
Manchester United’s away kit for the 2022/23 season has reportedly been leaked with fans gushing over the white shirt and black shorts combination.
According to Footy Headlines, their away jersey will be white and accustomed by black shorts and white socks.

The white is a throwback to their away strip in 2015/16 and even their third kit from 2009/10 through until 2011/12.
Man Utd were champions in 2010/11 with a white shirt and black shorts as their third kit during the season.

    Is Dan the man?
Watford keeper Daniel Bachmann has revealed Manchester United have made an approach for him.
Bachmann, 27, said he is honoured by the prospect of becoming David de Gea’s understudy at Old Trafford next season.
Former United interim boss Ralf Rangnick, who has now left to coach Austria’s national side, is thought to have been behind the move for the keeper so it may now rest in limbo.
Bachmann told Sky Sports Austria: “There has been contact with Manchester United.  It hasn’t just fallen out of the sky. I don’t know whether the team boss [Rangnick] has a say in transfer matters.

“Several clubs have shown interest in me – but the most intensive contacts have come from Manchester. It is a massive honour for a club like that to be interested in you.
“I would be second choice behind David de Gea, who has been one of the Premier League’s best keepers for years.
“But anything can happen in football. The performance principle applies. As a result, even big stars can sit on the subs’ bench.”
    United wage bill
Ten Hag will have Pogba, Cavani and Mata and others off the wage bill this summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo is still Man Utd’s highest earner.

    Good morning Man Utd fans
Erik ten Hag looks set to secure the first signing of his reign at Manchester United with 22-year-old Darwin Nunez, according to reports.
An agreement between United and Benfica is said to be ‘very close’ for the striker according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
The report claims Nunez is a ‘priority’ target for Ten Hag as he tries to find a striker to bolster The Red Devils in attack.
Glen Johnson claims that Declan Rice should only leave West Ham for a team challenging for the Premier League title next season.
The former West Ham defender spoke to Bettingodds about the England international’s future.
Johnson said: “I don’t think that he will end up at Manchester United and no disrespect to Manchester United because it’s a fantastic club and I’m sure they’ll come back and fight for titles in the coming years but City and Liverpool are absolutely miles ahead of anyone at the moment and I’m sure they’d want Declan as well.
“Why would you go to a team that isn’t going to compete for the league next season?
“If he goes to Liverpool or City then he’s going to win something next season. I can’t believe that Manchester United would be his first pick.”
Man Utd have also confirmed Rangnick’s departure from the club.
A club statement read: “We would like to thank Ralf Rangnick for his efforts as interim manager over the past six months.
“By mutual agreement, Ralf will now focus solely on his new role as manager of the Austria national team and will not therefore be taking up a consultancy role at Old Trafford.
“We would like to wish Ralf the best of luck in this next chapter of his career.”
Aurelien Tchouameni has confessed his love for both Liverpool and Real Madrid – in a blow to Manchester United.
The highly sought-after Frenchman gave his take on both Champions League finalists before they faced off in France.
When asked about joining either Liverpool or Real Madrid ahead of the Champions League final, he told CNN: “I like both: I can watch Spanish games and English games.
“It’s different to play in Spain and it’s different to play in England, but at the end, for me, it’s just a matter of adaptation.”
    Chelsea up Dembele chase
Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer summer transfer target Ousmane Dembele improved terms.
The winger is out of contract at Barcelona come the end of June and can join another club for free.
A number of Europe’s elite including Chelsea and Man Utd are keen on the Frenchman.
But according to Fichajes, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has requested the club to complete the signing of Dembele.

    Dybala fight
Jose Mourinho is reportedly looking to get one over Manchester United by beating his old club to Paulo Dybala.
TyC Sports claims The Special One has made contact with Juventus’ out-of-contract forward about a free transfer to Roma.
Dybala’s seven-year stint in Turin comes to an end next month.
And the Argentina international, 28, has been flooded with offers from the Premier League.
New Man United boss Erik ten Hag is thought to be a huge fan.
And Spurs boss Antonio Conte also rates Dybala after going up against him at Inter Milan.

Chelsea supporters would not have believed the kind of success they were going to have had you told them back in 2003.
However, it is important to remember that the team which Abramovich walked into Stamford Bridge with did secure them fourth place the previous season.

The star previously worked with Tuchel during a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund and he caught the eye again when helping Inter Milan to the Serie A title in the 2020/21 campaign.

“We’re all in – 100% — every minute of every match. Our vision as owners is clear: we want to make the fans proud.

The winger is out of contract at Barcelona come the end of June and can join another club for free.

But according to Fichajes, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has requested the club to complete the signing of Dembele.

Marotta said: “There’s no hurry on our part, we can’t rush.
“Certainly we’ve already started laying the groundwork, trying to get the jump on things.”

Abramovich’s first game 19 years ago
Roman Abramovich era as Chelsea owner has finally come to an end following confirmation Todd Boehly has taken over at Stamford Bridge.
It concludes the Russian’s 19-year spell as Blues chief, a reign which has seen them collect five Premier League titles, FA Cups, three League Cups and two Champions Leagues.
Chelsea supporters would not have believed the kind of success they were going to have had you told them back in 2003.
However, it is important to remember that the team which Abramovich walked into Stamford Bridge with did secure them fourth place the previous season.
We looked at the team which started the first match of the Abramovich era – a Champions League qualifier against Slovakian side MSK Zilna on August 13, 2003 – as well as where they are now.

Arsenal look set to miss out on £12.5million with Fiorentina struggling to stump up the fee to land Lucas Torreira.
Torreira impressed during his loan spell with the Viola as he helped the club secure a Europa Conference League spot.
But the midfielder’s agent Pablo Bentancur has commented on the potential move, as he insisted it doesn’t look like happening.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Bentancursaid: “The chances of Lucas staying in Florence are very small – even if it’s not over yet”

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gunners are “pressing heavily” to sign Hickey with an offer of £21.25million.

Roma manager Jose Mourinho has said he will “miss” Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles after his loan spell came to an end.
Maitland-Niles spent the second half of the season in the Italian capital on a temporary deal from the Gunners.
The midfielder wrote: “Great way to end the season thank you to the Roma fans players and staff for embracing me and believing in me as one of their own for the short period of time spent at the club what an experience and to be a part of history with the club.”
Mourinho himself reposted the snap to his own Instagram account, writing a touching message, which read: “We will miss you. One of us”

But White was absent after it was decided that he would be better off continuing his rehabilitation with Arsenal.

Portuguese outfit Benfica are interested but are quibbling over Arsenal’s £8.5million valuation of the stopper.
    Club captaincy still vacant
Arsenal are yet to appoint their next club captain following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s departure.
Aubameyang, 32, had his Arsenal contract ripped up earlier this year before he signed for Barcelona in January.
Mikel Arteta did not replace the forward and was made to pay for it in the second half of the campaign as two defeats in three games meant the Gunners failed to qualify for Europe’s elite competition.

    Lenglet available on loan
Barcelona have made defender Clement Lenglet available for a loan transfer this summer.
Sport claim the Frenchman is not part of boss Xavi’s plans for next season.
The news is a boost to Premier league trio Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle, who are all interested.
Fiorentina to pull out on Torreira
Arsenal look set to miss out on £12.5million with Fiorentina struggling to stump up the fee to sign Lucas Torreira, writes Jake Lambourne.
The 26-year-old impressed during his loan spell in Florence during the 2021-22 season where he helped the club secure a Europa Conference League spot.
He chipped in with five goals and two assists in 36 games in all competitions, with the midfielder winning Fiorentina’s player of the month award three times in 2022.
It had been thought that the Serie A outfit were willing to trigger their option to buy clause in Torreira’s contract.

But it is now believed that the Uruguay international is poised to return to England with Fiorentina unwilling to fork out £12.5m.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina have until Tuesday to thrash out an agreement with Arsenal.
But they state that it is unlikely that the Italian club will exercise their buy option.

The midfielder was being linked with a £21million switch to the Premier League.

West Ham could potentially move for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana.
The Hammers are in the market for a midfielder following the exits of Mark Noble and Alex Kral.

But according to Foot Mercato, West Ham would face competition from Arsenal and Monaco for Onana’s signature.

“I’ve already talked to Frank Lampard too, with my agents and they know what I want. Let’s wait for June.
“Now I can’t talk, because when we talk about leaving a club I’m kind of like this, because of the history I have at Everton, the affection that the fans have for me.
“When we talk about leaving I’m a little speechless.”
    Palmeiras rule out selling Danilo
Palmeiras have ruled out selling 21-year-old Danilo to West Ham or Arsenal.
The midfielder was being linked with a £21million switch to the Premier League.
But according to president Leila Pereira, Danilo isn’t going anywhere.
He said: “Our squad is very small. We need reinforcements. We need to buy players, not sell players.
“And, in the summer window, Danilo stays. You can put a nail in it.”
VP Buosi added: “I repeat and reiterate what President Leila Pereira said: Danilo will stay with us.
“We still have a way to go with Danilo. I repeat and reiterate: Danilo will not be sold.”

    Arsenal biggest signings
Will Arsenal make any big money signings this summer?

    Arsenal Emery mistake
Jose Enrique says Arsenal made a mistake by getting rid of Unai Emery.
The Spaniard has since returned to his homeland after his sacking at the Emirates.
And he has won some silverware with Villarreal, winning the Europa League.
Enrique says the Gunners made a mistake by sacking Emery. He told Genting Casino: “Arsenal made a mistake when they let him go. Emery is a top manager and in England they took the piss too much about how he spoke.
“They were wrong to sack him, but I really believe in Mikel Arteta because what he’s doing with young players is great – even if they did miss out on Champions League.”
    Leno wanted in Benfica transfer
Arsenal are trying to negotiate a cut-price deal for goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
SunSport exclusively revealed the Gunners are hoping to scrape together £60million this summer from a fire sale of Emirates outcasts.
And German goalkeeper Leno, 30, is one of seven-players in for the chop at a knockdown price.
Portuguese outfit Benfica are interested but are quibbling over Arsenal’s £8.5million valuation of the stopper.
Aaron Ramsdale’s £30m arrival last summer has restricted Leno to just four Premier League appearances this campaign.
Leno is now deemed surplus to requirements with American goalkeeper Matt Turner set to arrive in the summer as backup to Ramsdale.
    Hammers eye Onana
West Ham could potentially move for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana.
The Hammers are in the market for a midfielder following the exits of Mark Noble and Alex Kral.

The 24-year-old struggled with a hamstring injury towards the end of the Premier League season.
He missed three games in Arsenal’s run-in, including their 3-0 North London derby mauling at Tottenham.
White returned for the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle, during which he scored an own goal, before again sitting out as Mikel Arteta’s side beat Everton on the final day.
Southgate is yet to call up an alternative for White.

The defender also said he does not feel like he is “done” with the Eredivisie champions.
“In the end, my gut feeling will be the deciding factor,” Timber said.

    Transfer fire sale
Arsenal are hoping to put together a major sale at the Emirates this coming summer.
SunSport exclusively reported the Gunners are hoping to scrape together £60million from selling outcasts.
And Bernd Leno is one of seven players in for the chop at a knockdown price as he has fallen out of favour after Aaron Ramsdale’s success.
The North Londoners missed out on Champions League football and important funds
    Mane almost joined United
Liverpool star Sadio Mane has revealed how close he came to agreeing a move to Manchester United before Jurgen Klopp convinced him to join the Reds instead.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Mane, who has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, said: “I was really close to going to Manchester United.
“I had the contract there. I had it all agreed. It was all ready, but instead I thought, ‘No, I want to go to Liverpool’.
“I was convinced to go with Klopp’s project”
    Lewandowski leaving Bayern
Bayern Munich legend Robert Lewandowski has announced he doesn’t want to stay at the Allianz Arena.
Lewandowski said: “My era at Bayern is over. I don’t see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore.
“Bayern are a serious club and I believe that they will not keep me just because they can.
“I don’t want to play there anymore. A transfer is the best solution. I hope they don’t stop me”
    Tchouameni transfer blow
As mentioned earlier, Real Madrid are set to sign Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni for £68million.
It had been said that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag identified Tchouameni as his preferred midfield target.
Meanwhile, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain were also claimed to be keen on securing the midfielder’s services.
And Arsenal as well as Liverpool were also credited with an interest in the France international.
But it is Real who are set to nab the 22-year-old with Carlo Ancelotti’s side in advanced negotiations
    Staying in Tch
Real Madrid have won the race to prise Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni away in a £68million deal.
Tchouameni will be on the way out of the Ligue 1 side this summer after the club confirmed they will not stand in his way of an exit.
According to AS, the midfielder is closing in on a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu and the transfer will be completed imminently with a full agreement to be reached in the coming days.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also stated that the France international is on his way to link up with the Champions League holders
EXCLUSIVE – Ten Hag watching Mount’s contract situation at Chelsea

Juventus ‘closing in on double free transfer swoop
Juventus are on the brink of signing Paul Pogba AND Angel Di Maria on free transfers – saving a whopping £135million in transfer fees – according to reports in Italy.
Di Maria, 34, has already confirmed his Paris Saint-Germain exit after his contract expired, writes Dave Fraser.
Pogba, 29, is also expected to walk away from Manchester United when his deal runs out on June 30.
And Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed Juventus are set to sign BOTH on free transfers with the deals to be completed in the coming days.

The Italian giants, who finished only fourth in Serie A in 2021-22, are desperate to overthrow the two Milan clubs and win their first title since 2019-20.
They are believed to have already offered Pogba a three-year deal worth around £200,000 per week – with the United star’s barber even hinting at a return to the Old Lady.
And they are hopeful of tempting Di Maria into signing on too.
The report claims Juventus hope to announce Pogba as their own player for a second time THIS WEEK.
Mane should consider Munich, says James
Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James thinks that it “makes sense” for Reds striker Sadio Mane to consider leaving Anfield for Bayern Munich.
The 51-year-old reckons not many would “argue against it” as he spoke to GGRecon.
James said: “What’s interesting is the Mane part of the conversation. This is a guy that has won so much and done so well with Liverpool.
“I look at him in a very positive way, this is a guy that has traveled around in his career a little bit, and therefore the idea that he could travel to another country would make sense.
“Having just turned 30, he’s sort of at the height of his powers. He’s been successful with a number of trophies with Liverpool, especially with two trophies this year, and with Senegal, qualifying for the World Cup and winning the Africa Cup of Nations, which is one of the major things he wanted to achieve.
“For any performer you would say, where is my best opportunity for me to make the next move and I would argue that now for Mane it is the right opportunity. It’s nothing against Liverpool. I don’t think many would argue against it.
How the Toon could look next season
Eddie Howe is preparing for another transfer splurge this summer which could see Newcastle take on a whole-new look next season.
Especially after Toon stole transfer guru Dan Ashworth from Brighton to act as sporting director, an announcement confirmed yesterday.
SunSport exclusively revealed last week that Newcastle are set to offer Karl Darlow to Manchester United as part of a deal to land Dean Henderson.
Elsewhere Newcastle are reportedly ready to smash their transfer record with a £50million bid for Lyon star Lucas Paqueta.

Paqueta has the same agent as fan-favourite Bruno Guimaraes, also signed from Lyon in January.
In attack Newcastle could look to bring in Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby.
It’s claimed Toon have been quoted a price of £40million plus for the French international, but money is no longer a problem to the Saudi-owned outfit.
    ‘They know what I want’
Everton and Brazil forward Richarlison has broken his silence on his future.
The forward has been linked with a move to Arsenal recently.
Richarlison said: “I’ve already made it clear to the board.

Premier League be warned… City aren’t finished
Manchester City have vowed there are more new signings to come after buying “the best No 9 in the world”.
The Premier League champs moved quickly to tie up a £51.4million move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, 21, on a five-year deal earlier this month.
Yet chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has vowed City are not finished there.

Khaldoon said: “In Haaland we have arguably the best No 9 in the world at the right age. When you look at the next ten-15 years we have invested in that striker for the future.
“He is a very, very unique striker that the whole world has been looking at.
“His record is phenomenal. Every big team in the world wanted Haaland to join them.
“He is one of the most — if not the most — exciting strikers in the world.
“I can confirm that there will be more players coming in.
“We are looking to strengthen in the areas we need strengthening.”

Lukaku dreams of Inter return, say reports
Romelu Lukaku dreams of returning to the San Siro to play for Inter Milan next season, according to reports.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that the Inter Milan board will meet with Lukaku’s representatives in the “coming hours”.
He tweeted: “Inter board will meet Romelu Lukaku’s laywer in the coming hours.
“Belgian striker dreams of returning to Inter but nothing has been discussed yet with Chelsea on formula, salary and more.”
Sky Sport Italia report that it is a “complicated deal” as Chelsea paid over £100m for Rom a year ago.

    Lewandsoski announces decision to leave
Robert Lewandowski, 33, has announced that his time at Bayern Munich may be over.
The lethal striker said he DOESN’T want to stay.
Lewandowski said: “My era at Bayern is over. I don’t see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore.
“Bayern are a serious club and I believe that they will not keep me just because they can.
“I don’t want to play there anymore. A transfer is the best solution. I hope they don’t stop me.”
Winks wanted in shock Sevilla transfer
Sevilla are considering joining the race to sign Spurs star Harry Winks.
Tottenham have told the 26-year-old midfielder he can leave this summer as he is not essential to boss Antonio Conte’s plans.
The Spurs academy product, who has ten England caps, is valued at about £20million.
La Liga giants Sevilla would offer playmaker Winks the chance to revive his career in a league that would suit his technical ability.
Fulham and Everton have also been touted as possible destinations if he wants to stay in the Premier League.
Southampton are also interested but the price could be prohibitive as they are prioritising other positions in this summer’s transfer market.
    Transfer news
Real Madrid have made an “official proposal” for Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gaga Slonina.
The keeper was once a target of Chelsea’s before government sanctions were put in place.
The 2004-born shot stopper has admirers at Bayern Munich too.
Barcelona have made defender Clement Lenglet available for a loan transfer this summer.
Sport claim the Frenchman is not part of boss Xavi’s plans for next season.
And finally, Todd Boehly’s takeover of Chelsea is officially complete.
The American takes ownership from controversial former owner Roman Abramovich, who was sanctioned by the UK government over his ties to Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Boehly said: “We are honoured to become the new custodians of Chelsea Football Club.
“We’re all in – 100% — every minute of every match. Our vision as owners is clear: we want to make the fans proud.”
    ‘They know what I want’
Everton and Brazil forward Richarlison has broken his silence on his future.
The forward has been linked with a move to Arsenal recently.
Richarlison said: “I’ve already made it clear to the board.
“I’ve already talked to Frank Lampard too, with my agents and they know what I want. Let’s wait for June.
“Now I can’t talk, because when we talk about leaving a club I’m kind of like this, because of the history I have at Everton, the affection that the fans have for me.

    City chairman promises more signings
Manchester City have vowed there are more new signings to come after buying “the best No 9 in the world”.
The Premier League champs moved quickly to tie up a £51.4million move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, 21, on a five-year deal earlier this month.
And Argentina international hotshot Julian Alvarez, 22, is also due to arrive from River Plate in July.

“He is a very, very unique striker that the whole world has been looking at.
“His record is phenomenal. Every big team in the world wanted Haaland to join them.
“He is one of the most — if not the most — exciting strikers in the world.
“Haaland made a very wise decision in choosing to come to Man City. For us, it’s a super decision.
“And in Alvarez I think we have found one of the most talented young strikers in South America.
“But I can confirm that there will be more players coming in.
“We are looking to strengthen in the areas we need strengthening.”

Chelsea could line up next year after takeover including Dembele and Hakimi
However, even if they do that, then they will still need to convince the Blues to do business.
Lukaku was Chelsea’s record signing and they will be determined not to let him leave for any major loss.
A fresh report has claimed that they want a £19.5m fee from the Italians for a loan deal.
And they also want a £59.6m fee as an obligation to buy next year.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is desperate to have both Paulo Dybala and Lukaku in his attack next term and continues to explore all options.
The De Vrij option could tempt Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel into doing a deal.
