SOUTHAMPTON have completed the transfer of Romeo Lavia from Manchester City. Lavia, an 18-year-old midfielder who can also play in central defence, posted an emotional farewell on his Twitter page ahead of his move to the South Coast outfit.

He said: “My Manchester City journey has come to an end.
“I’d like to thank everyone associated with this great club for all you’ve done for me during these 2 years at the club.
“I’ve developed into an even better player, person and it was also an honour to make my debut for this massive club. I wish the club nothing but the best for the future.”
Lavia will move to Southampton in a deal worth a reported £14million.

The Daily Telegraph’s Mike McGrath has now reported that Toon chiefs have contacted their Everton counterparts over the availability of Gordon.
He also states that a fee of £35m has been mooted – but any deal hinges on whether the Blues opt to cash in.
Meanwhile the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope suggests that no move will take place any time soon.

Now boss Jesse Marsch is wasting no time in trying to fill that gap after swooping for his fellow American.
Adams, 23, made his name at New York Red Bulls in the MLS and played under the Leeds manager there.
