Chelsea and Spurs in £34m Gleison Bremer bidding war, Blues want £60m Sterling transfer, Thiago Silva texting Kimpembe

CHELSEA are reportedly battling with Tottenham for £34million-rated Gleison Bremer, who plays for Torino. They’re also thinking about a move for Prensel Kimpembe, who is said to be in contact with former PSG team-mate Thiago Silva over a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are keen on signing Raheem Sterling in a £60m deal, SunSport can reveal.
The club’s new American owners are keen to make the Man City star the marquee signing of their new era.
However, Sterling would like assurances that he will be a key player and not be placed on the bench by Thomas Tuchel.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are said to be in advance talks with Jules Kounde, with a £56m fee believed to be enough to prize Sevilla’s hand.

    Koulibaly’s huge offer
Chelsea target Kalidou Koulibaly is reportedly tempted by the Blues’ huge offer.
The giant Napoli centre half is a target for both the Blues and London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The West Londoners have stolen a march on Spurs by tempting Koulibally with a £165,000-per-week contract, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
    Inter fancy Loftus-Cheek
Ruben Loftus-Cheek might find himself surplus to requirements this summer at Stamford Bridge.
But the midfielder may have a suitor in Serie A giants Inter Milan.
The England star is being chased by the Italians, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Inter expect Roberto Gagliardini to depart this summer, and are looking for a replacement – with Loftus-Cheek said to fit the bill.
    Gilmour gets praised
Football legend Kenny Daglish has leapt to Billy Gilmour’s defence after he was slammed for his performances for Scotland.
Daglish said: “It wasn’t his best game for his country [against Ukraine]. But his performance didn’t merit some of the negative reaction, which was way over the top.
“Steve Clarke left Billy on the bench against Armenia, and we produced a decent performance to win the Nations League tie 2-0. He came off the bench yesterday, but could do little to prevent a sore result.
“Now, it’s all about what Billy does in the future. There is no doubt he has the ability and, just as importantly, the correct attitude. So I expect his career to continue on an upward trajectory.”
    Bremer transfer battle
Chelsea are reportedly ready to fight Tottenham to sign Torino defender Gleison Bremer.
The Brazilian centre-back, 25, has caught the eye with his impressive displays in Italy this term.
And La Stampa are now claiming that Bremer is the man that they want to add to their ranks at Stamford Bridge.
However, Antonio Conte’s Spurs are also interested in the former Atletico Mineiro ace and a £34m bidding war could be about to start between the two rivals.
    Matic to Roma edges closer
Nemanja Matic is on the cusp of becoming a Roma player.
The Serbian international will undergo a medical tomorrow in Italy before being unveiled by the Serie A club.
He will join them on a one-year deal with the option to extend, according to Fabrizio Romano.
    PSG chase Lewandowksi transfer
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly entered the transfer chase to sign Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona ever since.
However, L’Equipe now claims that PSG have identified him as a top target.
And they are allegedly determined to win the race to secure his signature.
Man United are also said to be tracking the striker.
    James defends England pal
Reece James has leapt to the defence of England team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold amid criticism of his defensive abilities.
Jame said: “I make mistakes as well. I gave away a penalty against Hungary so we are both still learning our trade.
“Liverpool have 95% of the ball and he defends less than I have to. People have a lot of stuff to say and don’t really know the game. Trent is a great player.”
    Lukaku warning issued to Inter
Antonio Cassano has warned Inter Milan not to take back Romelu Lukaku.
He told his Bobo TV stream: “I wouldn’t take him back.
“He said he was going to his dream team, earning 15 million euros. Now, however, in London he doesn’t kick a ball and would like to return to Italy.
“Inter’s problem, given that Dybala is coming, is that if they get Lukaku they have to sell Lautaro. Again, I would not sign Lukaku.
“Also because first of all you have to pay for him, but then you have to see the reaction of the fans: if he scores two goals per game, okay, but otherwise the situation becomes quite difficult.
“Lukaku has to think about it. At this point, I say he stays at Chelsea.”
    Chelsea and Tottenham chase defender
Chelsea are ready to rival Tottenham in the transfer race to sign Torino defender Gleison Bremer.
However, Bayern Munich and AC Milan are also tracking Bremer, according to Milan News.
And he won’t come cheap as Torino will take no less than £34m for the centre-back, the report adds.
    Chelsea submit offer for keeper
Chelsea have reportedly tabled a huge offer for Chicago Fire goalie Gabriel Slonina.
Real Madrid were closing in on the Ukrainian goalkeeper, but Chelsea have entered the fray with a large offer, according to Relevo.
But the Blues have their work cut out convincing the 18-year-old to turn down Los Blancos who he wants to join, according to his agent, the report added.
    Reece James speaks on versatility
Reece James has revealed how versatile he can be on the pitch, deploying various positions.
He added: “I like getting forward, attacking, creating chances and scoring goals.
“But at the same time, my job is to defend, keep clean sheets and help the team. I like the balance between both.
“When I play a back three and I’m a wing-back, I’m a lot higher. I have more freedom to roam and do what I want.
“But when I play in a back four it’s more set as a defender and it’s a bit harder to get forward.
“When I was young I was a striker, scoring lots of goals, then I moved to midfield, then defence. I like to attack.”
    Reece James on England rivalry
Chelsea star Reece James has detailed the friendly rivalry he shares with England team-mate Kyle Walker for the right-back spot.
He said: “At the end of the day everyone wants to play – and I think everyone believes they should play.
“So it’s difficult at times, but we need to stay together and stick by what the manager decides to play – and just be ready when your chance falls.
“I’ve got a good relationship with Kyle so that when he sees me do something that I could get better at, he always tries to help me.
“He wants the best for me. I think that goes a long way and it’ll continue to help my career go in the right direction.”

He wants to play in a more competitive team.”
De Ligt would be a ‘massive signing’
If Chelsea manage to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt, it would be a ‘massive signing’.
The Blues are in dire need of defensive reinforcements after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
And journalist Pete O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “It’d be a massive signing for Chelsea.
“We all know the problems that they’ve got in their centre-back area for next season with Rudiger and Christensen leaving, so to get someone like De Ligt would be a big bonus for Chelsea.”
However, any potential deal could cost over £67.5million.
    Dumfries battle on
Man Utd and Chelsea are locked in a battle for Denzel Dumfries.
Inter Milan are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the Dutch right-back this summer.
United are in the market for a new full-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka reportedly listed for transfer.
While Chelsea have lost defenders including Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and are swearing on the futures of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso.
    Chelsea pair’s future
Spanish outlet Marca claim Chelsea are set to meet with Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso imminently.
Both remain on Barcelona’s radar, and have been offered contracts by the Catalans.
Their futures at Stamford Bridge are up in the air.
Alonso has said he fancies a move back to LaLiga.
    Mount starts
Chelsea playmaker Mason Mount starts for England against Italy.
It means the Blues star is playing his third consecutive game for his country.
Mount is in fine form, after starring for Thomas Tuchel’s side – and winning the club’s player of the year.
He managed more goal contributions than anyone at the club –  13 strikes and 16 assists.
    Dembele contract snub
Chelsea have been given a transfer boost after Barcelona confirmed Ousmane Dembele has not signed a new contract offer.
The winger, 25, has just weeks left on his current Nou Camp deal.
And Chelsea are reportedly leading the race to sign Dembele on a free transfer.
The Frenchman joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for a whopping £135million in 2017.
Dembele scored 32 goals in 150 games for the Spaniards, winning two titles and two Spanish Cups in the process.
But he is believed to be keen on starting a new challenge this summer.
    Slonina transfer battle
We’ve come to a crucial time in the signing of Gabriel Slonina, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist has revealed Chelsea are well in the running for the US goalie.
He tweeted: “Important hours ahead for Gabriel Slonina transfer. Real Madrid made official bid turned down by Chicago Fire last week – but Chelsea are also in talks to sign him, after being really close last February.”
Romano added: “Decision to be made soon – gonna be one of MLS record transfers.”
    Martinez on Lukaku’s future
Martinez also spoke about what’s best for Lukaku’s future, with rumours he’s set to leave Stamford Bridge.
The Spanish boss said: “He is very clear in what he wants. He wants to be important, he wants to enjoy his football and I’m convinced the decision in the summer will be the right one.
“If it is staying at Chelsea then I’m sure it will be for the right reasons. If it is moving away then it’s because everyone agrees to it.
“In Belgium we are quite relaxed with the situation of Romelu.  I know he is a big topic.
“Romelu is a player I know very well. I managed him at club level (at Everton) at a very young age.
“He was 19 and had a very different position than he has now. Now he’s a player who is very mature and very clear about what he wants.”
    Martinez wants Lukaku’s goals
Roberto Martinez says he only wants Chelsea’s ‘sensational’ striker Romelu Lukaku to score goals.
The future of the Belgium forward is up in the air at Stamford Bridge after Lukaku failed to shine following his £98million move from Inter Milan last summer.
Lukaku has been linked with a return to the Serie A side either on loan or a permanent transfer.
But Martinez, who has managed Lukaku previously at Everton and now with the Red Devils, believes to get the best out of the 29-year-old you need to play to his strengths.
Martinez, preparing for Belgium’s Nations League clash in Wales, said: “We try to ask Romelu to do what he is exceptional at.
“Romelu is a sensational goal scorer. In the national team that is what we want.
“Romelu needs to be the final man, he needs to be in the right position and needs to be the one that hits the back of the net.
“That’s probably the answer that I can give you. We don’t ask Rom to do things that he is not exceptional at.”
    Birthday boy
Chelsea are celebrating the birthday of one of their many stars.
The Blus have wished Kai Havertz many happy returns on his special day on their Twitter page.

    Havertz turns 23 today.
And they love him enough to call him “The best on earth” in this cool graphic.
    Chelsea handed Kounde transfer boost
Chelsea have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.
Sevilla chief Jose Maria Cruz de Andres has confirmed Kounde wishes to move on – and even name dropped Chelsea as an option.
He said: “Again, the player, I am sure, respects Sevilla FC. He is happy with us. In the case of Kounde, it is not a matter of money. It’s a matter of him wanting to play in a more competitive team than Sevilla FC.
“I am sure he is a player that is attractive for teams like Chelsea, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich and these types of teams. He wants to play in a more competitive team.”
    Cech makes Chelsea transfer admission
Petr Cech claims he is “living on his phone” as he aims to help Thomas Tuchel strengthen his Chelsea squad.
The former goalkeeper is now employed by the Blues as their technical and performance advisor.
He said: “I live on the phone! It will be a busy summer. We will plan, prepare and try to be as strong as we can next season.
“I think everybody knows where we are in terms of the team. Of course we will try to strengthen the team.
“We want to do the best possible and be ready to compete next season.
“It’s going to be a tough season with a World Cup in-between so we need to be ready for that.”
    Sterling’s pace assessed
Raheem Sterling will bring some much-needed pace into Chelsea’s side.
That’s the view of Cascarino, who added when speaking to talkSPORT: “For Tuchel, I could see Chelsea attempting to get that type of wide man, absolutely.
“Why wouldn’t you? His numbers, he creates and he just stretches teams.
“Pace always stretches teams and if you want to be countering, Raheem is good in counter-attacking teams because he’s so devastating with his pace.”

Argentine giants River Plate are also interested in landing Suarez.

And the forward is also ready to rejoin Barcelona on minimal pay if they fail to land Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.

However, Atalanta have now presented themselves as a viable option.
Suarez would be a regular in the first team alongside Colombian Duvan Zapata.
And Atalanta should be able to give him a decent salary as they prepare for a cash injection from new American investors.
It’s not the first time Suarez has been linked with an Italian job.
Juventus came close to signing him from Barcelona in 2020.
Personal terms were agreed on a free transfer.
But the deal fell through as Juve had already exceeded their non-EU signings for that summer.

Real Madrid ‘braced’ for Arsenal Asensio bid, club ‘contact’ for Bowen, Milinkovic-Savic interest – transfer updates

ARSENAL have reportedly reached out to West Ham to enquire about signing their star player Jarrod Bowen. Meanwhile, Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is on Arsenal’s radar, with a price of £45million being mooted, according to reports.
Marco Asensio is also a name being linked with the North London club, with the Spanish media claiming they have spoken to his agents, with an incoming bid for the midfielder.
The Gunners are also said to have entered the race to sign Raphinha from Leeds, according to reports.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal have completed the signing of Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos.
Arsenal have also received a major boost in their pursuit of Gabriel Jesus this summer.
Manchester City’s initial asking price was a reported £55 million, but the Premier League winners have lowered their asking price to £45m.

    Wilshere tips Jesus for Arsenal
Jack Wilshere has tipped Mikel Arteta’s relationship with Gabriel Jesus to swing the balance when it comes to signing the Brazilian.
The Gunners remain interested in the Man City man, but face competition from the rivals.
Although Wilshere thinks the Gunners have a good chance of securing his services.
Wilshere told talkSPORT: “I think they will be queuing up to sign him. Arsenal will have a big chance of signing him because of his relationship with Mikel Arteta.
“I can see Newcastle going for him as well but I would love to see him at Arsenal.”
    ‘Cheeky’ Lukaku bid
Paul Merson believes the Gunners should make a “cheeky” bid for Chelsea’s out-of-favour forward Romelu Lukaku.
“Arsenal should make a cheeky £60m bid for Romelu Lukaku this summer,” he wrote in his Daily Star column.
“Because if Chelsea are so desperate to let him go that they’re talking about loaning him to Inter Milan, surely they would take the money! Arsenal haven’t had someone who is big and strong and dynamic like that since Kevin Campbell.
“I know he hasn’t scored a lot of goals this season but Lukaku is an elite goalscorer. Arsenal play great football up to the edge of the box but then it often fizzles out.
“Arsenal have runners who could get in behind him and supply him with crosses. I would like to think Arsenal is a club Lukaku would consider. They’re talking about him going back to Inter Milan but Arsenal are as big a club as Inter. Arsenal may not be in the Champions League next season, but Inter are not winning it are they?”
    Flores praised by Mexico boss
Arsenal star Marcelo Flores was praised for his talent by Mexico boss Tata Martino.
He said of Flores: “Marcelo is everything a coach expects, that the player has those desires to assert his dribbling, he does what we all expect of him, he executes the ‘one on one’, which is one of the best qualities and the penalty is anecdotal.
“It’s fine…We had Santi, Chávez and Orbelín, Santi decided to give it to him and the boy is in the dressing room crying inconsolably, and it’s sad because this career has many disappointments.
“But everything that happened is well, everything is experience and everything is knowledge; Marcelo is something different, he needs peace of mind and hopefully they can give it to him.”
    No Chill
Italy star Giorgio Chiellini has spoken on grabbing Bukayo Saka’s shirt in the Euro 2020 final.
“It was in the 90th minute and I’d read the flight of the ball, thinking I could shepherd it out of play when really I could have controlled it.
“But I was convinced I could put my body between Saka and the ball and let it go out of play, but he wriggled round me.”
“When he wriggled round from behind and had that space to run into, my reaction was to grab him. And I grabbed him good!”
    Tavares wanted by Marseille
Struggling Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares is wanted in a loan transfer by French outfit Marseille, according to reports.
Tavares joined the Gunners last summer from Benfica in a £7.2million transfer
The 22-year-old was handed more game time than what he was most likely expecting last term, with starting left-back Kieran Tierney struggling with injuries.
Tavares was hit and miss for the Gunners.
At times he’d look electric going forward. But often he was defensively vulnerable.
And according to Lions de l’Atlas, Tavares could be handed the chance to improve on loan in France.
    Saliba urged to join Marseille
Matteo Guendozi has pledged to “try and push” William Saliba to leave Arsenal and join Marseille permanently.
Speaking to Telefoot, the midfielder said: “William now has Marseille in his heart, and I’m sure that he’ll come back to Marseille next season.
“So I’m going to keep pushing so that he stays with us.”
    Asensio transfer race heats up
Arsenal have reportedly joined rivals Tottenham in the transfer chase for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.
Tottenham and AC Milan have allegedly already been offered the player.
Now Arsenal are also in the mix to sign him, according to the Daily Mirror.
This latest report claims that the Gunners have “contacted Asensio’s representatives to seek answers” about his and Real’s demands.
Dybala edges closer to Inter move
Paolo Dybala is on the verge of joining Inter Milan, according to reports.
The ex-Juventus striker has nearly agreed terms with Inter, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
And he will meet with representatives from the club imminently to discuss terms, the report adds.
    Arteta’s frustration over transfers
Mikel Arteta is reportedly “frustrated by Arsenal’s transfer indecision” as he fears missing out on Gabriel Jesus.
The Gunners are insisting that all major transactions are approved by their American ownership.
And the boss believes that could cost them the chance of securing Manchester City’s Brazilian striker.

Los Blancos have offered him a contract extension, however he has so far refused to sign a new deal.
There is a belief at the Bernabeu that he could exit for free, so would want to cash in instead.
    Arsenal lose out on wonderkid
The Gunners have missed out on a top South American talent, if reports are to be believed.
Paraguayan wonderkid Julio Enciso is now flying to England to sign for a Premier League club, just months after Arsenal scouts were watching him.
However, it appears the forward is heading for Brighton in an £8million deal, say Sky Sports.
The 18-year-old scored 11 goals in 17 games for his club Libertad last season.
    Bent backs Jesus for Gunners
Darren Bent has backed Gabriel Jesus to thrive at Arsenal, if he signs for the Gunners.
“I’d like to see him (Jesus) go to Arsenal. I think he’d be brilliant,” the talkSPORT host said.
“He’s not got a point to prove but I think he needs regular football and I think he’s more than good enough to score the goals to help Arsenal get back to where they’d like to get to. So I think that would be a really good addition to the squad.”
    Depay for sale
Barcelona want to sell Arsenal target Memphis Depay, according to a report.
Spanish outlet Sport say that the Catalans are willing to part with the Dutchman to raise funds for other signings.
The Gunners are in desperate need of firepower, after losing Alexandre Lacazette.
And Depay could add much experience to their forward-line.
    Xhaka targeted by Bundesliga giants
Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly eyeing up a move for Granit Xhaka.
The Daily Mirror claim that the Swiss midfielder has emerged as a target for the Bundesliga giants, as they prepare for a Champions League campaign next season.
And they have been buoyed in their chase by the fact the Gunners want to bring another midfielder in – ith Youri Tielemans linked to the Emirates.
Roma were also interested in Xhaka in the past – with Jose Mourinho a fan.
    Arteta frustration
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is growing frustrated by the club’s indecision in the transfer market, according to a report
The Daily Mail also claim a deal for top transfer target Gabriel Jesus is nowhere near.
The story says the Gunners are reluctant to meet his £50million transfer fee.
While talks over personal terms also haven’t been discussed.
    Milinkovic-Savic a shock target
Arsenal are reportedly interested in a £42million deal for Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Corriere dello Sport claims the midfielder has emerged as a target for Mikel Arteta, who wants a new No8 this summer.
Leicester’s Youri Tielemans is thought to be the Gunners boss’ preferred option.
But it’s reckoned that Granit Xhaka is once again attracting interest from Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
And Arsenal may end up needing two new top midfielders.
Milinkovic-Savic has scored 58 goals in 294 games for Lazio, having joined from Genk in 2015.
    Arsenal target Bowen
The Gunners have reportedly opened negotiations with the representative of Jarrod Bowen, according to reports.
The Beautiful Game podcast claims Arsenal have made contact regarding the signing of the West Ham forward – who was in sublime form for the Hammers this season.
Bowen earned himself an England call up following a brilliant campaign where he scored 18 goals and made 13 assists in all competitions.
The report says that Bowen’s name is on a list of attacking targets that also includes Leeds star Raphina.

    Forest ‘plot Maitland-Niles transfer’
Nottingham Forest are considering a swoop for Arsenal star Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
The Mirror states that newly-promoted Nottingham Forest are plotting a swoop.
This fresh report states that they have already contacted Arsenal with regards to a possible transfer.
Maitland-Niles only has 12 months remaining on his Gunners contract and, after being deemed surplus to requirements by Mikel Arteta, they will likely be keen to cash in rather than lose him for nothing next year.
    Suspect arrested for Willian threats
Police in Brazil have arrested a man after former Arsenal and Chelsea star Willian was sent chilling death threats.
Willian received heinous messages threatening him with bullets and knives online.
This caused the Corinthians winger to get the police involved as he feared his wife and two young daughters would also be targeted, the Mirror reported.
And now the Barra Funda Strategic Special Operations division have revealed they’ve detained a 21-year-old man.
The perpetrator will be charged for the offence despite claiming he never expected the threats to be taken seriously, the report added.
    Arsenal given transfer tip
Arsenal have been urged to make a swoop for Manchester United target Christopher Nkunku by Darren Bent.
Bent told talkSPORT: “And Christopher Nkunku. [He would cost] a lot. There’s talk about him going back to Paris Saint-Germain.
‘”But I’d love him. I think he fits the bill, he can play centre-forward, he can play off the left, he can play off the right.”
    City want to keep Jesus
Man City want Gabriel Jesus to pen a new contract, according to reports.
According to 90min, Pep Guardiola’s side feel that they have offered Jesus a “very good deal” in a bid to entice him to stay.
Guardiola values the forward highly, having started him in both legs of City’s Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.
    Why Jesus should join Chelsea
Gabriel Jesus should move to Chelsea as he’ll be supported by rookies Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe at Arsenal.
That’s according to Stan Collymore who also questioned whether the Gunners duo will be at the club in two year’s time.
He said to the Mirror: “At Arsenal, with the support cast they have, which is still two rookies in Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka — and we don’t know for sure that they will still be wearing Gunners shirts in two years’ time, with Saka being linked with Liverpool and City.
“If I was Jesus I would be thinking of myself in the blue shirt at Stamford Bridge.”

    Martial slammed by Spanish media
Anthony Martial’s loan spell to Sevilla has been described as a fiasco by Spanish media.
Spanish publication AS wrote: “Martial’s stint as a Sevilla player can only be described as a fiasco.
“For the investment made, for the expectations created and for the worse than poor performance offered.
“And the fact is that he scored the same two goals and gave an assist [when he was 18], but he did so playing 15 games in a team [Monaco] in which he had to compete for the position with players of the stature of Falcao and Berbatov.”
    Asensio transfer race heats up

    Concerns over wonderkid’s strength
Pafundi is only 5ft 5ins tall.
And the main concern of Premier League scouts is whether he could stand up to the physicality of English football.
But they will continue to follow the progress of one of Europe’s most exciting prospects.
The ace made his debut for Udinese last month.
    Man United monitor wonderkid
Man United Liverpool, Leicester and Everton are among the Premier League clubs monitoring Udinese wonderkid Simone Pafundi, DAN KING WRITES.

Pafundi, 16, was also called up by Italy boss Roberto Mancini to join the country’s best young talent at a training camp with the senior team.
Brexit means British clubs cannot swoop for Pafundi – or other top youngsters from Europe – until they are 18.

Man Utd will join the race for Robert Lewandowski – if his dream move to Barcelona falls flat.Lewandowski has his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp, and the striker wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer despite still having a year on his contract.Yet unless Barca can shift some of their high earners, the Polish skipper’s chances of signing look doomed, even though the fee would be a maximum of £20million.United are keeping a close eye on the situation, and there is growing talk of a similar deal to the one which took Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford last year.Forgotten keeper Tom Heaton is a shock target for Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder.Wilder wants a new No 1 and is keen to take Heaton, 36, on loan if United will let him go rather than make him stay at Old Trafford as cover. The former Aston Villa and Burnley stopper would welcome game time and a challenge after falling to third choice.Cristiano Ronaldo’s rape lawsuit has been dismissed. The striker, 37, had been harmed by accuser Kathryn Mayorga’s lawyer, a US judge ruled. The footballer had been accused of raping the woman in Las Vegas, US, in 2009.He paid her $375,000 (£304,500) in hush money but the lawsuit sought a further payout, which could have been millions.US District Judge Jennifer Dorsey kicked the case out of court with no option to file it again over the way the documents were obtained.
    Diallo set for another loan
Promising youngster Amad Diallo is set for another loan away from Old Trafford.
The £37.2million signing spent from January onwards in Scotland at Rangers, where he managed three goals in 13 games.

And it appears, if reports are to be believed, he will be sent out again.
The United Journal claims he has been in talks with Erik ten Hag about his playing time, with nothing yet to be decided.
    Heaton targeted by Boro
Man Utd forgotten keeper Tom Heaton is a shock target for Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder.
Wilder wants a new No 1 and is keen to take Heaton, 36, on loan if United will let him go rather than make him stay at Old Trafford as cover.
The former Aston Villa and Burnley stopper would welcome game time and a challenge after falling to third choice.
Wilder had been dreaming of a reunion with United’s Dean Henderson after they spent two successful seasons together at Sheffield United between 2018-2020.
But Hendo is still holding out for a Premier League move — either as a loan or a buy.
Championship side Boro were prepared to pay £40,000 a week towards Henderson’s salary but United wanted more.
    Utd need four signings
Man Utd legend Gary Neville has identified FOUR key positions manager Erik ten Hag can improve this summer.
Neville says United need to first their midfield before turning their attention towards bolstering their attacking ranks and then defence.
Neville told United’s website: “Central midfield is an absolute necessity. An absolute necessity.
“Manchester United need midfield players. They also need a centre-forward.
“I know Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to stay and he’s an absolutely brilliant performer, but they need a centre-forward. Centre-forward is a must.”
Neville continued: “I think there’ll need to be a wide player, just to beef up the squad, and I think full-backs are absolutely critical in the modern game.
“[There are] four full-backs there, it’ll be interesting to see which two, three or four of those are liked.”

    Antony move on
Man Utd are desperately trying to sign Ajax winger Antony.
Erik ten Hag coached the Brazilian when he was coach of the Amsterdam giants.
He scored 12 goals and 10 assists during the campaign.
And Goal claim that United are going to firm up their interest with a bid for the wideman in the region of £51million.
    Lewandowski chase
Man Utd will join the race for Robert Lewandowski – if his dream move to Barcelona falls flat.
Lewandowski has his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp, and the striker wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer despite still having a year on his contract.
Yet unless Barca can shift some of their high earners, the Polish skipper’s chances of signing look doomed, even though the fee would be a maximum of £20million.
United are keeping a close eye on the situation, and there is growing talk of a similar deal to the one which took Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford last year.
Lewandowski, 33, is four years younger and is still at the peak of his goalscoring powers, with a staggering 57 in 55 games last season.
    Ronaldo cleared
Cristiano Ronaldo’s rape lawsuit has been dismissed.
The Manchester United striker, 37, had been harmed by accuser Kathryn Mayorga’s lawyer, a US judge ruled.
The footballer had been accused of raping the woman in Las Vegas, US, in 2009.
He paid her $375,000 (£304,500) in hush money but the lawsuit sought a further payout, which could have been millions.
US District Judge Jennifer Dorsey kicked the case out of court with no option to file it again over the way the documents were obtained.
Judge Dorsey said the “harsh sanctions are merited”.
    Phelan leaving
Mike Phelan is set to depart Manchester United’s coaching staff this summer, according to reports.
The 59-year-old has had numerous spells in various capacities at Old Trafford, most recently re-joining as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s assistant in 2019.
Following the Norwegian’s sacking last year, Phelan remained on Ralf Rangnick’s staff, albeit in a less hands on capacity.
But according to The Athletic, he will not remain under Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman will be assisted by Mitchell van der Gaag, while another of Sir Alex Ferguson’s former No2s Steve McClaren will return as first team coach.
    De Jong move ‘close’
Man Utd are closing in on Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong, according to reports.
The Red Devils are determined to reunite the former Ajax ace with his old boss Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
United have already had a £60million bid turned down for the Dutch midfielder.
But Barcelona could opt to sell to raise money for other targets.
According to Spanish paper Sport, Barca want around £70m for the 25-year-old’s services.
The midfielder was previously thought to be determined to stay and fight for his place at Barca.
But United writer Tom McDermott also claims that he has agreed terms after talks with Ten Hag and United old boy Daley Blind.
    Man United handed transfer boost
Man United have recieved a huge boost in their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted that the club are willing to sell big stars if needed to help their transfer situation.
He said: “If our economic situation requires the sale of an important player, we are ready for that.”
    Man United plot Inter swoop
Man United are reportedly plotting a raid for Inter Milan defensive pair Stefan De Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni.
United have asked Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio about the availability of the two stars, according to Gazzetta dello sport.
But the Red Devils’ interest hasn’t materialised into a solid transfer bid for either of them yet, the report adds.

And Pep Guardiola is keen on landing a dynamic midfielder who can comfortably play both the No6 and No8 roles.
Phillips ticks all the boxes for City – and would also count as a homegrown player for their Champions League squad registration.

But the departure of boss Marcelo Bielsa appears to have strengthened Phillips’ resolve for a switch up the table.

Leeds are expected to make one last play by offering their key man a bumper new contract.
However, new manager Jesse Marsch is already making plans for a replacement, with Bayern Munich misfit Marc Roca in his sights.
The American has been active in the transfer market since he guided Leeds to safety, making two signings in the past fortnight.
RB Salzburg attacking midfielder Brenden Aaranson was snapped up in late May for £25m.
And Leeds then moved for his teammate Rasmus Kristensen last week.
The right-back cost £9m, and Leeds had to move quickly after Brentford and Borussia Dortmund expressed an interest in signing the Dane. More

Gleison Bremer bidding war, Blues want Sterling
And La Stampa are now claiming that Bremer is the man that they want to add to their ranks at Stamford Bridge.
However, Antonio Conte’s Spurs are also interested in the former Atletico Mineiro ace and a £34m bidding war could be about to start between the two rivals.
And the Premier League duo will also face competition from abroad in the chase to secure Bremer.
This fresh report also claims that Bayern Munich are plotting a swoop for him also.

The Dutchman was questioned over a potential switch to Old Trafford
The Barcelona star moved to the Nou Camp from the Dutch giants in 2019 but has failed to convince.
And that has led to intense speculation that he could be heading to United this summer.
De Jong is currently on international duty with Holland and he spoke to the media yesterday after the 2-2 draw with Poland.
But it was his club situation rather than national duty that journalists wanted to know about.

Arsenal ‘contact Asensio’s agents’ to find out wage demands as they join Spurs in transfer hunt for Real Madrid ace

Asensio only has 12 months remaining on his deal.
The 26-year-old has been offered an extension by Madrid – and he has been given a deadline of June 20 to sign it.
However, the Spanish international’s demands have not been fully met and there is a belief that he will snub it.
Rather than lose him for nothing next summer, Madrid would rather cash in and sell him now.

‘make contact’ for Jarrod Bowen, Milinkovic-Savic interest
Tottenham and AC Milan have allegedly already been offered the player.
Now Arsenal are also in the mix to sign him, according to the Daily Mirror.
This latest report claims that the Gunners have “contacted Asensio’s representatives to seek answers” about his and Real’s demands.
The former Mallorca ace is looking for assurances that he will get regular starts, something he has failed to get at Madrid.
