However, Leicester officials have made it clear that they will only consider a sale if an offer of at least £85million is tabled.
Thomas Tuchel and Todd Boehly are said to be reluctant to match the eyewatering fee, but the duo have considered offering Ruben Loftus-Cheek as part of a deal.
If the two clubs were to reach an agreement, it would see Fofana earn a huge pay-rise.
According to The Daily Mail, the Frenchman’s wages could increase dramatically to £200,000 if he decided to join The Blues.

Fofana fuelled rumours of a move to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday when he removed Leicester from his Twitter bio, despite signing a long-term deal with the club in March.
Chelsea have identified other targets should they fail to reach an agreement with Leicester for the full-back.
Marc Cucurella is now a top target following his failed move to Manchester City.
The Blues have reportedly offered Levi Colwill plus a cash sum in a bid to meet Brighton’s £50m asking price.

Bringing Dest to Old Trafford could cost the club a minimum of £17million, claim Sport.
The American international is predominately a right-back but can also cover on the left flank.
Prior to his move to Barcelona he was at Ajax and worked with Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag.
Under the Dutchman’s guidance Dest produced his best attacking season chipping in with two goals and six assists in all competitions in the 2019/20 campaign.

His good form took him to Barca the following season and he has since made 72 appearances for the club.
But with the Catalan giants’ boss Xavi looking to re-build the side this summer he could reportedly choose to cash in on Dest even though his contract runs until 2025.
The team is currently undergoing a defensive overhaul with Barca having already signed Jules Kounde and Andreas Christensen.
They also want a left-back and have been linked with Marcos Alonso of Chelsea.

Dest is not the first player with Ajax links to be rumoured with a move to Man Utd.
The club are still hopeful of completing a deal to sign Dest’s Barcelona team-mate Frenkie de Jong even though Chelsea have entered the race for him.
United are also keen on Antony but are reportedly prepared to pull out of a deal unless two demands are met.
Ten Hag’s first competitive game in charge of the club will be on Sunday in their Premier League season opener versus Brighton. More

Arsenal will look to axe EIGHT flops including record transfer Nicolas Pepe to help fund Mikel Arteta’s summer spree

THERE is positivity in the air ahead of the new season, that’s for sure. The exciting new additions and an instant chemistry between Gabriel Jesus and his team-mates has got Arsenal fans relishing the curtain-raiser.

Hector Bellerin could leave if Real Betis stump up the cashCredit: Getty
But there is also some concern at the number of players not part of Mikel Arteta’s plans still at the club.
And some of those who are surplus to requirements will need to be shipped out before further additions come in.
Frustratingly, to myself and many other Gunners fans, these individuals were taken on the pre-season tour, which deprived us of the chance to see more Hale Enders impress.
So, who are the misfits Arsenal should shift before the transfer window closes to fund and make room for the desired central midfielder and another winger?

    Nicolas Pepe
The Ivorian has been a constant frustration to Arteta and he is certainly one who has been given chances to adapt to the way his coach wants him to play.
Pepe has amazing skills and an eye for goal, but his link play, work rate and speed of thought are simply not in tune with the rest of theteam.
His plus points are far outweighed by his minuses, and as revealed by SunSport, the club will have to sell him at a huge loss, if they can find a buyer.
His wages may well prove a sticking point and I can see a loanwith Arsenal having to fund some of his exorbitant salary, sadly.

    Hector Bellerin
I think most fans see Bellerin as one of our own. His length of service, loyalty and inherited cockney twang will see him leave with all our blessing but leave he must.
The current right-back we have on our books is not the same one who lifted three FA Cups because he lost the devastating turn of pace which made him the player he was at his fabulous best.
I hope Betis can raise the funds to buy him after his successful loan there in 2021-22.

    Pablo Mari
Arteta has to take this one on the chin as the Spaniard wanted his compatriot.
The manager obviously wanted a left-footed centre-back but Gabriel is far superior to Mari.
Mari is good enough in the air and his distribution more than adequate, but his lack of pace has been consistently exposed in the Premier League.
The Spaniard seems far more suited to Serie A where he spent last season with Udinese.
    Ainsley Maitland-Niles
The irony of his manager now buying versatility players on purpose, when the popular Englishman seemed to be a victim of that attribute, will not be lost on AMN.
Neither loan at West Brom or Roma have led to anything and a team that buys him will first have to promise him a midfield role I suspect.
The arrival of Albert Sambi Lokonga and the contract renewal of Mohamed Elneny will severely limit game time for this frustrated player.
But as a homegrown player with undoubted ability, I hope a mid-table Premier League side might bid for him.
    Lucas Torreira
After two successful loans in Spain and Italy, it is surprising to me that the tenacious midfielder has so few suitors.
There seems no way back for him under Arteta, who I sense sees the Uruguayan as simply not physical enough for the anchor role and also mistrusts his passing accuracy.
The player and his agent are both on record saying the player never truly settled in London so I hope we can get a reasonable bid for this popular squad member.

Reiss Nelson has not quite lived up to the hype despite his talentCredit: Getty
Mikel Arteta still wants to bring in more new recruits this summerCredit: Splash
    Reiss Nelson
Nelson has never truly kicked on despite his obvious talent and flair – another one Arteta has never truly trusted.
I am sure that once the winger finds a home where he is loved and played consistently his career will reignite… but it will not be at Arsenal.
The club will have watched him last season in the Dutch top-flight and had they been impressed they would not have purchased Marquinhos and bid for Raphinha.
    Alex Runarsson
With the arrival of Matt Turner and the rise of Arthur Okonkwo, Arsenal need to simply rip up the Icelandic keeper’s contract and put it down as a reckless risk that failed to pay off.
    Matt Smith
Despite having more medals than Harry Kane, it is time for this talented midfielder to be sold so he can flourish.
    Read More on The Sun
Smith is 22 soon and he deserves to be playing regularly.
He was virtually ever-present for Doncaster last season in League One, but I would hope a Championship side will gamble on him. More

But, manager Ian Burchnall is now looking to add more experience to the squad as a sign of intent.
And he is hoping to do so with a huge statement signing.
According to Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath, Forest Green have identified Wickham as a top transfer target.
Club chiefs have reportedly been in talks with the 29-year-old’s representatives to discuss the possibility of a deal.

Wickham became a free agent when he was released by MK Dons at the end of last season.
If he were to join Forest Green before the transfer window closes, it would mark the eighth move of his career.
The striker signed his first professional contract with Ipswich Town in 2009 before joining Sunderland two years later.
He was then loaned out for two consecutive seasons to Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds respectively.

West Ham agree £35m transfer fee for Amadou Onana after Lille rejected first two offers for Arsenal and Newcastle target

The East London club have already had TWO bids rejected for Onana this summer as manager David Moyes attempts to bolster his midfield.
West Ham have sought to act quickly to sign the highly rated player with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle also interested.
And after several frustrating weeks, the Irons have made progress having agreed a price of £30m plus add-ons with hard-bargain negotiators Lille.
But personal terms are still a sticking issue for a player who still has four years left on his deal at the French club having only arrived from Hamburg last summer.

Onana played 41 times for Lille last season scoring three goals, predominately being used as a defensive midfielder.
Moyes will be hopeful these terms can be sorted out over next few days but any deal is unlikely to see Onana in the squad in time to face Manchester City in their Premier League opener on Sunday.
West Ham have had a busy transfer window so far, signing Alphonse Areola, Nayef Aguerd, Flyn Downes and Gianluca Scamacca.
And they are showing no signs of stopping as they are also keen on a deal for Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet.

The 18-year-old became a first-team regular playing 39 times for the club scoring four goals and registering two assists.
Scott, who won the club’s player of the season award last campaign, has also shone on the international stage being a part of the England Under-19 side that won the European Under-19 Championship.
His impressive form at such a young age has caught the attention of Man Utd, claim The United Stand.
If United do sign him then they are reportedly willing to loan him back to Bristol City so he can continue to gain first-team experience.

Chelsea confident of sealing Frenkie de Jong transfer ahead of Man Utd with Barcelona talks ‘hurried’ ahead of season

CHELSEA are confident of sealing the transfer of Frenkie de Jong, according to reports. And talks with Barcelona are said to be “hurried” as they look to try and get the deal over the line ahead of the new season.

De Jong, 25, has been at the centre of a summer-long saga.
Manchester United have been desperate to sign him but De Jong has snubbed their approaches, despite Barcelona accepting a bid of around £72million from the Red Devils.
The Catalan giants need to make money soon due to their financial disarray and gave De Jong an ultimatum to lower his wages or leave the club.
But with Manchester United unable to offer Champions League football this season, Chelsea are trying to swoop.

Barcelona are continuing to demand the same fee agreed with United.
However, any deal could include targets Cesar Azpilicueta or Marcos Alonso going the other way to the Nou Camp.

So the German manager would love to have the midfielder signed before then to meet and possibly even train with his new team-mates.
He has publicly voiced his frustration at the squad not being ready for the season – especially after the transfer for Jules Kounde fell through while other targets such as Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana have not signed yet either.
However, despite their salary threats to the player, Barcelona have insisted they do want De Jong to stay after all – which could scupper a deal entirely.
President Joan Laporta told CBS: “The first thing to say is we want Frenkie to stay at Barcelona. We love the player and him as a human being.
“I want him to stay at Barcelona. He’s a high-quality player and a good guy. I also know that he wants to stay.
