However, the Gunners are still said to be considering a swoop with Juventus pushing for a sale.
According to Calciomercato, the Italian giants are desperate for Arsenal to make another bid.
Club chiefs are eager to offload his £4.3million-a-year wages before the start of the season, whether that be through a loan deal or a permanent transfer.
But Arsenal have already signed a new midfielder this summer, so they could be reluctant to place a suitable offer.

Chelsea lined up before Liverpool deal EXCLUSIVE – transfers live
As revealed by SunSport, Palace are plotting a late move in the battle for Wolves’ £20million-rated Morgan Gibbs-White.
Vieira wants more attacking options in midfield with last season’s loan star Conor Gallagher back at Chelsea.
And the Frenchman will rival Nottingham Forest and Southampton for the 22-year-old Molineux ace.
Gibbs-White spent last season with Sheffield United in the Championship but is now looking to get himself some regular Premier League action.

Palace have already landed Cheick Doucoure from Lens for £18m — a deal SunSport first revealed back on May 1.
While Derby whizkid Malcolm Ebiowei, 18, has also signed on as Vieira reshapes his squad.
Palace are also in the running for Swansea’s Flynn Downes, who is also fancied by Leicester and by Wolves — as a potential replacement for Gibbs-White — and could go for about £8m.
Vieira will be hoping that business is completed before the opening day of the Premier League season when the Eagles host Arsenal at Selhurst Park.
It will mark the start of a gruelling month of fixtures which will see the club take on both Manchester City and Liverpool. More

Jesse Lingard willing to join Everton on free transfer after Man Utd exit… but only as a last resort

JESSE LINGARD may only join Everton as a last resort despite optimism of his capture within Goodison.Lingard is now a free agent after leaving Manchester United.

Toffees boss Frank Lampard sees him as a major target.
And the Warrington-born target would not even have to move house if he switched to Goodison.
But the 29-year-old is understood to be wary of moving to a club with major money worries.
They were last week forced to sell Richarlison to Tottenham for £60million to avoid a Prem points deduction over a potential break of financial fair play regulations.

Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin may also have to be sacrificed to raise funds.
Most transfer business by Lampard this summer will involve now fees with Burnley’s James Tarkowski the first such arrival.
Meanwhile West Ham boss David Moyes who in season 2020-21 had Lingard on loan is keen to bring him back permanently.
Tottenham are also interested with manager Antonio Conte looking to add more homegrown players to his squad.

Conte has already brought in attackers Ivan Perisic and Richarlison as well as Yves Bissouma further back.
But Lingard would offer something in between primarily as a creative midfielder where he has previously shone for England.
Despite a largely underwhelming season, playing 540 minutes of football across 21 appearances, the 29-year-old is seen as a “low-risk” signing, the report adds.
Newcastle are also understood to be considering an approach for the attacking midfielder. More

Chelsea at front of queue to offer Cristiano Ronaldo Champions League football after Man Utd superstar’s transfer plea

The Red Devils are determined to stand firm and refuse to sell – but the Portuguese star insists they should give the green light to any ‘acceptable’ bids.
And that could see the five-time Ballon d’Or winner join rivals Chelsea, who finished third last season – and therefore have a seat at Europe’s top table.
Thomas Tuchel is on the hunt for a new striker following Romelu Lukaku’s season-long loan to Inter Milan.
That leaves Timo Werner and Kai Havertz as the only players who can really play up front in the squad.

say Cristiano Ronaldo will NOT be sold, Serge Gnabry EXCLUSIVE
The West Londoners are keen to make the forward their marquee signing this summer and have been keeping tabs on his situation with United.
New Blues chief Todd Boehly recently met with Ronaldo’s agent – Jorge Mendes – to discuss a host of topics, including a potential move for the sporting icon.
German giants Bayern are also interested in signing the veteran forward, who was a ray of light in an otherwise dismal season for the Red Devils.
Ronaldo was United’s top goalscorer, finding the back of the net 24 times and providing three assists in 39 appearances.

Sporting Lisbon inquired but Ronaldo’s £480,000-a-week wages mean there is little chance of a return while Serie A is a possible destination.
The transfer bombshell comes after a first week of pre-season training, where new Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has earned rave reviews.
Ron, who is yet to return to Carrington, is unhappy at the prospect of playing a first season in almost two decades without Champions League football.

And he does not believe United’s squad are capable of mounting a title bid.
Sources in Portugal insist Ronaldo, who has 12 months left on his deal plus a one-year option, has not demanded a transfer and has no intention of doing so.
But United are refusing to deny he wants away.

And Di Marzio claims Lenglet has been chosen by the Spurs boss for a north London summer switch.
Marseille were thought to be leading the race for Lenglet, who’s been capped 15 times by France.
But Italian tactician Conte has stormed in late on.
And Lenglet is now set to ply his trade in the Premier League as Spurs’ new left-sided centre-half.
    Fulham face Manor Solomon loss
Fulham are facing the prospect of losing out on forward Manor Solomon with French club Nice attempting to hijack the deal.
The Israel international has been a long term target for boss Marco Silva and is close to joining the Cottagers from Ukrainian side Shakthar Donetsk.
Silva’s side have all but agreed a deal worth around £7million for the 22-year-old but have not yet fully completed.
Sources close to the player believe that all aspects are ready to go on the deal and that they are just awaiting the final seal from Fulham.
As the newly promoted side delay, however, Nice are trying to muscle in.
The Ligue 1 side, owned by British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, have offered a bigger fee to Shakthar and a larger wage to Solomon than that on offer from West London.
Solomon, however, would still prefer a switch to the Premier League but is beginning to consider other options should Fulham continue to delay.

    Ronaldo to Sporting Lisbon?
Sporting Lisbon director of football Hugo Viana has refused to rule out Cristiano Ronaldo returning to the club.
He told Sky Sports on a possible summer move: “Not now, I don’t think that will be possible.
“But we never know. He can decide where he can go. But you never know the future.
“I don’t want to talk a lot about that because when we speak about Cristiano it is quite different.
“I think he has one more year on his contract, so whatever he decides, let’s see.”
    Brentford eye ex-United flop
Brentford are plotting a swoop for ex-Manchester United flop Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
The goalkeeper moved to Old Trafford back in 2014 from Serbian club Vojvodina.
He then suffered work permit issues that prevented him from making an appearance for the club.
And that led to his departure from United just a year later having failed to make any impact.
Now TuttoSport claims that Brentford are lining up a bid to give the now Torino stopper a second shot at the Premier League.
    Chelsea face Raphinha coup
Chelsea are fighting Barcelona’s 11th-hour attempt to sign Raphinha.
Blues owner Todd Boehly looked like he had bagged the Brazil winger after agreeing a £55million deal with Leeds.
But having seen off interest from rivals Arsenal, Boehly now faces the threat of losing out to Barcelona.
Raphinha’s agent Deco, who played for both Barca and Chelsea, was spotted at the Spanish giants’ offices on Wednesday in a last-ditch attempt to engineer a move.
    Richarlison to Tottenham confirmed
Richarlison is set to undergo a medical at Tottenham TODAY after agreeing to move from Everton, according to reports.
Spurs are still haggling with the Toffees over the final details of the deal, although a fee of around £50million and £10m in add-ons has been agreed in principle.
Richarlison, 25, has settled on personal terms with Tottenham and is eager to make the move.
According to The Athletic, the Brazilian’s Spurs medical will take place today with a transfer imminent.

    Rangers face transfer battle
Four Euro clubs are keen to beat Rangers to sign Antonio Colak.
SunSport understands the PAOK striker is a target for Copenhagen, Panathinaikos, Real Mallorca and his former club Malmo as the race for the £2.5million-rated Croatian international, 28, hots up.
But it’s understood the Light Blues remain favourites with the frontman clear Ibrox is his favoured destination if a deal can be agreed with the Greeks.
We revealed Gers had made an improved £2m offer plus bonuses in a bid to prise Colak away from PAOK’s Dutch pre-season camp.
But that too has been rejected with PAOK chiefs adamant about the deal matching what they paid Rijeka two years ago.
    Chelsea get De Ligt boost
Chelsea have received a major boost in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt after Juventus’ CEO hinted that the star wants to leave.
uventus chief Maurizio Arrivabene has appeared to have bolstered their hopes of landing De Ligt – saying they will be happy to do business as long as their asking price is met.
He said: “It’s impossible to keep players when they want to leave the club – but all the three parties in the negotiations have to be satisfied.”
    Good Morning football fans.
Man Utd are looking to hijack Arsenal’s bid to land Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.
The Gunners have put in a third offer for the Argentine centre-back – after being told their previous bid of £34million was not enough.
But United have now registered their interest to the Dutch giants and asked to be kept informed of developments.
Erik ten Hag was planning to switch his attention to his forward line now deals for Frenkie de Jong and Tyrrell Malacia have been set up.
However the Red Devils were concerned that the 24-year-old Martinez would be heading for North London unless they made their interest known quickly.
Martinez has set his heart on a move to the Premier League – although the Dutch giants will demand around £43m to think about letting him leave.
Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku is back in Italy ahead of his return to Inter Milan and has proudly posed with a club scarf.
The 29-year-old will link up with the San Siro outfit for a second time just a year after he re-joined Chelsea in a club-record £97.5million deal.
But he failed to hit the heights expected of him at Stamford Bridge, with Thomas Tuchel deeming him surplus to requirements.
And Inter have been quick to secure his services with the Serie A giants agreeing a £6.9m season-long loan deal with the Blues.
    More on Martinez
Arsenal’s opening bid of £26m was rejected – as was their second which was £8m higher.
Their latest offer is a similar downpayment but with more add-ons – so that may not be enough to tempt Ajax to do business.
They are now likely to wait to see if a firm offer comes in for Lisandro Martinez from United.
He had previously indicated he was happy to join Arsenal but the prospect of re-uniting with his former boss Ten Hag at Old Trafford may change his mind.
It would be a blow for Mikel Arteta who has also seen Chelsea move in for another of his key targets, Raphinha, in recent days.
Spanish giants Barcelona are also in the race for the Brazilian who is rated at around £60m by his current club Leeds.
Meanwhile United are happy with the way their move for Malacia is progressing – despite a late bid from Lyon to turn his head back towards them.
He is expected to move to the North West and provide competition for Luke Shaw next season.

    S-mart money
Man Utd are looking to hijack Arsenal’s bid to land Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.
The Gunners have put in a third offer for the Argentine centre-back – after being told their previous bid of £34million was not enough.
But United have now registered their interest to the Dutch giants and asked to be kept informed of developments.

Martinez has set his heart on a move to the Premier League – although the Dutch giants will demand around £43m to think about letting him leave.

    Everton in talks for Winks
Everton are likely to sign Harry Winks regardless of where Richarlison‘s future lies, according to Givemesport.
The Brazilian international is being strongly linked with a move to Tottenham, with a potential swap deal involving Winks under consideration, but Jones is confident the midfielder will end up linking up with ex-teammate Dele Alli, no matter what happens with Richarlison.
According to Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge, Spurs and Everton are in talks over Winks, although the north Londoners are pushing for a permanent transfer, while the Toffees are seeking a loan deal with an option to buy.
Winks has already been told to find a new club by Tottenham and has been valued at around £20m.
Meanwhile, the same outlet state that Spurs are interested in Richarlison and Anthony Gordon, as Conte hopes to provide squad depth ahead of the club’s return to the Champions League next term.

    Koul runnings
Kalidou Koulibaly has reportedly emerged as a potential target for Chelsea.
It has been claimed that the Senegal international has been added to Thomas Tuchel’s shortlist in his quest to bolster his backline.
The Blues boss is desperate for reinforcements in defence after Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen departed as free agents.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of players, with the club reportedly having a £34million offer plus either Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic for Matthijs de Ligt rejected by Juventus.
They are also understood to be keen on bringing Manchester City’s Nathan Ake back to Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile Sevilla star Jules Kounde remains of interest, however they face competition from Barcelona in the race to secure the Frenchman’s services.

    Tuchy subject
Romelu Lukaku did not enjoy a successful return to Chelsea and part of the reason for his failure was his strained relationship with Thomas Tuchel.
Lukaku, 29, first got on the wrong side of the German by publicly expressing his desire to return to Inter in a now infamous interview.
In the same interview Lukaku also criticised Tuchel’s style of play, suggesting it restricted him to too few chances in front of goal.
But Tuchel also irritated Lukaku with a jibe that poked fun at the striker’s relationship with his former manager Antonio Conte.
According to Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella, Lukaku was left unhappy with Tuchel’s wind-up.
Kinsella revealed: “To see him talk so highly of Inter [during the Sky Italia interview] was an insult to Chelsea fans. It broke the relationship with them.
“And there was another incident behind the scenes that wasn’t televised or anything like that.
“Someone told me that Lukaku and Tuchel were watching a Tottenham game and Tuchel said, ‘There’s your daddy’, about Antonio Conte.
“It was just a joke, but apparently, it didn’t go down very well with Lukaku.”

    ICYMI
PSG star Neymar has been informed by club chiefs he is no longer wanted at Parc des Princes, reports suggest.
That is according to RMC Sport, who claim PSG are keen to rebuild without the star forward ahead of this coming season.
The Brazil international has been linked with a summer exodus from Paris this summer with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United showing interest,
United, Chelsea and Newcastle would be the only realistic transfer options for Neymar if he does leave PSG, whom he joined for a world record £200million in 2017.
The Premier League trio are the only clubs with the financial might to meet the Parisians and the striker’s financial demands.

    Raph news
Raphinha’s agent was spotted at the Nou Camp less than 24 hours after Chelsea appeared to move into pole position to sign the Leeds winger.
The west Londoners dealt a hammer blow to Arsenal’s hopes of signing the Brazilian on Tuesday by tabling a bid north of £55million for his services.
A deal has yet to be reached and talks with the player’s agent – former Barcelona ace Deco – are set to take place later this week.
But Barca could be poised to land the winger after Deco was spotted at the Nou Camp with club chiefs Rafa Yuste, Mateu Alemany, Enric Masip and president Joan Laporta.
Spanish journalist Victor Navvaro captured footage of the group leaving the stadium and shared it on Twitter.

    Spurs ‘set to snag genius’
Tottenham are set to snap up the set-piece genius who help fire Italy to Euro 2020 glory.
Veteran coach Gianni Vio, 69, is in talks to join Antonio Conte’s backroom staff ahead of the new season as the Italian looks to improve Spurs’ threat from set pieces.
The ex-banker-turned-deadball boffin wrote a thesis on set pieces as part of his coaching badges and claims to have more than 4,000 routines up his sleeve.
Vio helped Roberto Mancini at Euro 2020 last year and has previously worked at AC Milan, Leeds and Brentford.
Of the big six, only Manchester United scored fewer goals from set pieces than Spurs’ eight last season, meaning it is an area Conte is desperate to improve as they bid to bridge the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool.
    Southampton ‘sign Man City starlet’
Southampton are on the verge of signing Man City starlet Romeo Lavia, according to reports.
The Saints were locked in battle with Leeds for the 18-year-old’s services.
But the Saint Mary’s outfit have emerged victorious in the transfer race, The Athletic reported.
City wanted to keep hold of Lavia and have the option to buy him back, the report adds.

    Dutch courage
Everton are leading the race to sign Tottenham star Steven Bergwijn, according to reports.
Spurs are believed to be open to selling the Netherlands international this summer amid interest from Everton and Ajax.
Bergwijn, 24, has also admitted that he is seeking a transfer as he looks to play regular football.
And it seems Everton have the upper hand as they are willing to offer Bergwijn more money than Ajax, report De Telegraaf.
The Toffees are reportedly ready to match Tottenham’s asking price too, believed to be in the region of £21million.
But Bergwijn is said to prefer a move to Ajax due to the Dutch champions being able to offer Champions League football.

    Rab race
Adrien Rabiot wants to leave Juventus to join a Premier League club this summer.
The Telegraph claim Rabiot wants to leave the Serie A heavyweights to join an English club playing Champions League football.
And Juventus have agreed to his requests and will look to offload him for between £13-17million this summer.
Betfair think Chelsea are the frontrunners at odds of 5/2.
Three other Champions League sides in Liverpool (5/1), Manchester City (8/1) and Tottenham (10/1) are next in the betting markets.
Italian publication Calciomercato claim Liverpool are hatching a plan to swap Adrien Rabiot and Naby Keita, who are both 27 with 12 months remaining on their current deals.
There’s a large jump to Europa League duo Manchester United and Arsenal, who are locked together at 20/1.

    Eye of the Hag-er
Erik Ten Hag is close to making Tyrell Malacia his first signing as Manchester United boss and he has liked the defender for some time.
United are reportedly set to hijack Lyon’s move for the Feyenoord star in a £14m deal.
And Ten Hag knows a lot about the left-back from his time as Ajax manager – when he first set eyes on the youngster.
Footage has emerged from a match between Feyenoord and Ajax when Malacia certainly caught the eye.
Ten Hag is seen saying in Dutch: “That kid at left-back is amazing.”
He also tells his assistant Michael Reiziger to take note of Malacia, possibly with a view to signing him in the future.

    Mad for you
Atletico Madrid are reportedly in talks with Arsenal over a transfer for Hector Bellerin.
Bellerin, 27, spent the season on loan at Real Betis and a move back to La Liga could be on the cards.
ElDesmarque report Atletico are “already negotiating” with the Gunners over the full-back, who has told the North London club of his desire to leave.
Bellerin knows “first-hand” of interest from the Madrid side and it is making him rethink his future.
He is “seduced” by the option of playing in the capital but Betis remains his preferred option after his successful 2021-22 campaign.
The Spain international impressed for his boyhood club where he helped the Seville outfit win the Copa del Rey, as well as finishing fifth.

    Luk at that
Inter Milan fans turned out in force to get a glimpse of the returning Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku arrived in Milan for a medical today after Chelsea agreed a £6.9million fee to ship the 29-year-old out on loan.
And Lukaku grinned broadly as he waved to adoring fans from the window of the Italian Olympic Committee’s headquarters in Milan.
The Chelsea flop waved and gave a thumbs up to the crowd who had defied a warning from Inter Ultras NOT to welcome Lukaku back to the club.
Scorned Curva Nord fanatics urged fans not to “run and drool” after Lukaku following his return.
Instead they claimed he will have to earn their affection back with “humility and sweat”.

    Col me maybe
Southampton are considering a move for Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill as Ralph Hasenhuttl looks to continue his youth revolution.
The Saints have already snapped up two young players this summer in Gavin Bazunu – a goalkeeper from Manchester City – and 20-year-old defender Armel Bella-Kotchap, who arrived from German club Vfl Bochum.
And now Hasenhuttl wants to make another raid on Chelsea’s youth ranks.
The south coast side took three players from Cobham last summer with Tino Livramento and Dynel Simeu joining on permanent deals as well as Armando Broja spending last season on loan.
Now Colwill is in Southampton’s sights – with Premier League rivals Leicester City also tracking his progress.
The defender, 19, spent last season on loan with Championship side Huddersfield, who reached the play-off final where they lost to Nottingham Forest.
