      Chelsea ace Cesar Azpilicueta ‘optimistic’ Barcelona transfer will go through as Thomas Tuchel closes in on Jules Kounde

      CHELSEA skipper Cesar Azpilicueta is growing increasingly optimistic that he will be granted a move to Barcelona, according to reports.SunSport exclusively revealed yesterday that the Blues had agreed a £55million deal to sign Jules Kounde – which in turn frees up Azpilicueta to leave.

      Kounde’s imminent arrival at Chelsea and Azpilicueta’s departure are linked, according to The Times.
      Boss Thomas Tuchel is set to have sufficient defensive options when Kounde finally signs, with Kalidou Koulibaly already recruited and the Blues still linked with Presnel Kimpembe.
      Azpilicueta, 32, often filled in at centre-back last season and the incomings ease the pressure on Tuchel in the position.
      It’s claimed Azpilicueta is now growing more hopeful that he will be allowed to leave in order to join Barcelona.

      The Times go on to say the Spaniards themselves are in discussions with Azpilicueta and reassuring him that a deal will happen.
      Blues stalwart Azpilicueta is eager to leave this summer in order to return him to Spain.
      He is said to have already agreed personal terms with Barca over a switch to the Nou Camp.

      ANTONIO CONTE has revealed it was the club rather than him who picked right-back Djed Spence to be Tottenham’s sixth summer signing.Spence, 21, left Middlesbrough in a £12.5million deal to join Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Clement Lenglet in switching to Spurs this close season.

      Spurs finally landed their man after over a month of negotiations and could eventually pay up to £20m for Spence if all the add-ons are taken into account.
      The youngster, who won promotion while on loan at Nottingham Forest last season, has signed a five-year contract with the North Londoners.
      He labelled the move as “a dream come true” and is excited to link up with players he watched on television as a kid.

      Zinchenko has been convinced to leave Champions City following a series of conversations with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who has assured the player that he is not coming just as back-up to left-back Kieran Tierney.

      Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta is hopeful of being released to join Barcelona although prior to flying to America, no talks had been held about allowing him to go.
      The accomplished Spaniard is keen to go home having won every trophy possible in ten years with Chelsea.
      Although primarily a right-back Azpilicueta does play centre-back and the arrivals of Koulibaly and Kounde ease the pressure on Tuchel in the position.
      Spanish left-back Marcos Alonso is also keen to leave but his situation is unaffected by Chelsea’s latest deals. 
      Chelsea striker Armando Broja is the subject of a £30million bid from West Ham but Tuchel added: “I don’t expect Armando to leave. We are aware of offers and interest.
      “That tells us there is a lot of potential and we will take this decision together, the owners, me and also with the player and right now when he arrived it was clear he is trying to impress and become a Chelsea player as soon as possible.
      “After his loan at Southampton the situation was very clear, to make the next step to show improvement and make an impression in pre-season and then he injured himself.
