But it is more than possible, Ronaldo and Silva were topics of conversation too.
CR7 starred for Real Madrid for nine years but may be considering a January switch to their biggest enemies.
Laporta already admitted the parties held discussions in the summer.
At the presentation of Franck Kessie, the Barca boss openly described his meeting with Mendes.

He said: “I had dinner with Jorge Mendes and we talked about the market in general.
“Cristiano? I’m not going to talk about players we discussed at the meeting, but it’s always good to know how some names are on the market.”
Reports surfaced recently in Spain saying that the Catalan club were planning to relaunch a bid for Silva in January.
The LaLiga giants failed in an attempt to sign the Man City ace, 28, in the summer transfer window.
And talks may have already reignited in the restaurant meeting on Thursday.
Despite their financial woes, La Blaugrana managed to spend almost £150million on new recruits – bringing in Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Frank Kessie, Andrea Christensen, Jules Kounde, Marcos Alonso and Hector Bellerin.

Barcelona managed to raise £700million by selling various digital assets, which makes any potential deal for Silva a possibility.

Barcelona have been monitoring the Italian as a potential successor to Sergio Busquets.
Meanwhile, Juventus have been eyeing up both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, but the board and manager Massimiliano Allegri have opposing views on who would be better for them.

He was instrumental in helping Chelsea to win the Champions League that year and more recently has revealed a tattoo of the accolade.

And it was keeper Costa, 23, who is valued at £30million, that produced the first magical moment of the game as he picked out Galeno with an 80-yard pass in the sixth minute.
He found the Porto man deep inside the Leverkusen half with an inch-perfect pick-out.

Kerem Demirbay stepped up to level the game but Portugal’s Costa guessed correct and clawed the ball.
It makes him the first keeper in Champions League history to assist a goal and save a penalty in the same game.
It proved to be a crucial moment in the game as Porto then ran away with the game in the second half, winning it 3-0 thanks to a pair of penalties from Mehdi Taremi.
And Man Utd fans, who have seen their club linked with the shot-stopper, were gushing in their praise of his ability.

One said: “We have to get Diogo Costa next summer at all costs. Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Cristiano Ronaldo, do your thing🧤.”
Another added: “Diogo Costa, I can’t say it any more. He’s the one.”
And a third said: “We should be activating Diogo Costa’s release clause for next season (€60m/£52.4m) unless Porto accept something less.
“He should be a priority signing and will probably be our No1 for a decade.”
It was revealed earlier this month that Man Utd have sent scouts to watch Costa – who has been capped seven times by Portugal.
And he is being monitored as a possible replacement for David de Gea – who is out of contract in the summer. More

He was also Brentford’s top scorer last season with 14 goals to his name, one year after he netted a then record 31 times in the Championship to earn his side promotion to the top flight.
And his superb form earned him an England call-up for last month’s Nations League games against Italy and Germany.
The 26-year-old is under contract with Brentford until 2025, with the club hoping they can keep him by offering a new £100-a-week deal.

It comes amid interest from a host of Prem sides, with United joined by Leeds, Newcastle and West Ham in the race to acquire his signature.
Toney had to apologise in January after a video of him saying “f**k Brentford” while on holiday in Dubai was published on social media.
But he remains one of Thomas Frank’s key players on the pitch as they look to secure Premier League safety for a second successive campaign. More
