Both clubs are now waiting on the Uruguayan ace, with Galatasaray particularly worried due to interest from elsewhere.
Fiorentina, Juventus, Roma and Valencia have all been linked with the ex-Sampdoria man this summer.
Arsenal paid £22m for Torreira in 2018 and he went on to make a whopping 89 appearances for the club in his first two seasons before going out on loan to Atletico Madrid and then Fiorentina for the past two campaigns.
He still looks set to leave, wherever that may be, and follow Bernd Leno out of the Emirates exit door.

The East London club have already had TWO bids rejected for Onana this summer as manager David Moyes attempts to bolster his midfield.
West Ham have sought to act quickly to sign the highly rated player with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle also interested.
And after several frustrating weeks, the Irons have made progress having agreed a price of £30m plus add-ons with hard-bargain negotiators Lille.
But personal terms are still a sticking issue for a player who still has four years left on his deal at the French club having only arrived from Hamburg last summer.

Onana played 41 times for Lille last season scoring three goals, predominately being used as a defensive midfielder.
Moyes will be hopeful these terms can be sorted out over next few days but any deal is unlikely to see Onana in the squad in time to face Manchester City in their Premier League opener on Sunday.
West Ham have had a busy transfer window so far, signing Alphonse Areola, Nayef Aguerd, Flyn Downes and Gianluca Scamacca.
And they are showing no signs of stopping as they are also keen on a deal for Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet.

But the East Londoners do not want to pay his £17.5million release clause but with Everton and Nottingham Forest also keeping tabs on the player they may have to.
Cornet is seen as an alternative to Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic with West Ham set to miss out on him.
With Arthur Masuaku’s loan deal to Besiktas sealed, West Ham will not to bring someone in to replace him. More

Chelsea confident of sealing Frenkie de Jong transfer ahead of Man Utd with Barcelona talks ‘hurried’ ahead of season

CHELSEA are confident of sealing the transfer of Frenkie de Jong, according to reports. And talks with Barcelona are said to be “hurried” as they look to try and get the deal over the line ahead of the new season.
Frenkie de Jong could be a Chelsea player very soonCredit: AFP
De Jong, 25, has been at the centre of a summer-long saga.
Manchester United have been desperate to sign him but De Jong has snubbed their approaches, despite Barcelona accepting a bid of around £72million from the Red Devils.
The Catalan giants need to make money soon due to their financial disarray and gave De Jong an ultimatum to lower his wages or leave the club.
But with Manchester United unable to offer Champions League football this season, Chelsea are trying to swoop.

According to Sport in Spain, negotiations are underway and De Jong is thought to be more open to making the switch to Stamford Bridge – whereas he was reluctant to head to Old Trafford.
Barcelona are continuing to demand the same fee agreed with United.
However, any deal could include targets Cesar Azpilicueta or Marcos Alonso going the other way to the Nou Camp.

So the German manager would love to have the midfielder signed before then to meet and possibly even train with his new team-mates.
He has publicly voiced his frustration at the squad not being ready for the season – especially after the transfer for Jules Kounde fell through while other targets such as Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana have not signed yet either.
However, despite their salary threats to the player, Barcelona have insisted they do want De Jong to stay after all – which could scupper a deal entirely.
President Joan Laporta told CBS: “The first thing to say is we want Frenkie to stay at Barcelona. We love the player and him as a human being.
“I want him to stay at Barcelona. He’s a high-quality player and a good guy. I also know that he wants to stay.

“In football, you never know. I can’t say categorically. It all depends on the different parties.

Depay, 28, could have his deal at the LaLiga giants cut short making him a free agent.
To pay-off his current contract it would reportedly cost £16million, claims journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Barca are unwilling to spend that much on getting rid of him so Depay’s lawyers are trying to work on an agreement.
The ex-Lyon and Manchester United man accepts he is being forced out and wants an immediate exit from the Nou Camp but speculation suggests he is only keen on a move to another top team.

The likes of Tottenham, Sevilla and Juventus are reportedly interested.
He signed for the club last summer on a two-year deal and featured regularly for the first-team last season.
Depay played 37 times in all competitions scoring 13 goals but is now not wanted by his employers following the arrival of attacking talent like Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.

Despite the versatile attacker’s deal expiring at the conclusion of the soon-to-begin season, Barca want to offload him to save on wages.
They find themselves in a difficult place financially yet have still spent close to £140million as Xavi re-builds the squad.
And they may not be done yet as the club remain keen on signing a left-back with rumours saying Spurs once offered Sergio Reguilon as part of a deal to bring Depay back to the Premier League. More

‘To waste 12 months was CRIMINAL’ – Fuming Man Utd keeper Dean Henderson blasts club for breaking No 1 promise

DEAN HENDERSON fumed at “criminal” Manchester United for wasting a year of his career with false promises of the No 1 spot. The England keeper, who joined Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan last month, revealed in an explosive rant he was furious with the Red Devils for their treatment of him after turning down offers.

Henderson, 25, says he was promised the No 1 role ahead of David de Gea by ex-United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last summer — but played just THREE games.
Hendo blasted: “I turned so many good loans down last summer for that reason  and they wouldn’t let me go.
“To  waste 12 months was criminal really, at my age. I was fuming. It was so frustrating.”
Henderson missed Euro 2020 last summer with a hip injury and then caught Covid to force him to miss the first three games of the season, leaving him on the bench as back-up to De Gea for most of the campaign.

And Henderson admitted he  had no interest in  talking to new United manager Erik ten Hag before joining Forest.
He said: “I didn’t really want the manager to   see me in training because I knew he’d probably want to keep me.
“I told all the hierarchy: ‘I need to go and play football. I don’t want to be  playing second fiddle’.
“And it panned out so I was almost gone before the manager came in.”

Henderson’s stinging attack was directed at both Solskjaer — who was sacked last November — and United.
He told talkSPORT: “The conversation I had, coming out of the Euros squad, was ‘you’re coming back to be  No 1 keeper’.
“Unfortunately, no one followed through with anything they told me.” More
