And now Sosa is on the verge of a £17million move to East London, according to Croatian outlet Index.
But David Moyes’ side are set to face late competition for a player who has been dubbed the “assist machine”.
Newcastle are also claimed to be interested in his signature.
West Ham though are currently in pole position to capture the six-cap Croatia international.

Sosa’s agents are alleged to have been in the capital for the past two days to try and strike an agreement with the Hammers.
But Toon have now joined the race, with suggestions they would be willing to pay the reported £17m offered by West Ham.
That’s despite Eddie Howe already adding to his left-back ranks this summer with the permanent arrival of Matt Targett.
David Moyes has strengthened on the left with the £17.5m signing of Maxwel Cornet – but Sosa is more of an out-and-out left-back.

Even still the 24-year-old is more than capable going forward.
Sosa has registered 23 assists in 83 games for Stuttgart since arriving from Dinamo Zagreb in 2018.
His form saw him earn a first call up to the Croatia senior side in September last year. More

According to AS, boss Xavi spoke with the Chelsea star on Tuesday to discuss the final details of his long-awaited summer switch.
It is understood an agreement is now in place between the two clubs after the Spaniard submitted a transfer request.
Alonso, 31, looks set to travel to Barcelona by Tuesday at the latest to complete his medical and sign the paperwork on a two-year deal with the option of an extra 12 months.
That would mean he should be available to make his first appearance for his new club on matchday two of the new LaLiga season when Barca face Real Sociedad away on August 21.

However, there could be further complications if the Nou Camp club are unable to register Alonso immediately – after struggles to have their other new signings given the green light by league chiefs.
Alonso has gone through a full pre-season with Chelsea so is fit and ready to go – as he competes with Jordi Alba for the left-back spot.
Barca are still hopeful of securing Bernardo Silva on a deal from Manchester City – if they can ship Frenkie de Jong off to Chelsea.
The Blues have already snapped up Alonso’s replacement by splashing out a whopping £62m on Marc Cucurella from Brighton.

However, it was £50m man Ben Chilwell who started against Everton on the opening weekend of the season before Cucurella came on for the last 15 minutes in defence.

Man Utd moved for NONE of Ralf Rangnick’s five suggested transfer targets… two of which went on to sign for City

RALF RANGNICK reportedly identified five Manchester United targets for this summer – and neighbours City signed two while the Red Devils went for none of them. The German was appointed interim manager last term following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking and identified a handful of players to the board that would improve the club.

Rangnick took charge in December but his time in the dug-out was miserable as they only won just 11 of his 29 games.
However, he was supposed to take up a consultancy role from the end of last season but he left to take charge of Austria just six days after Erik ten Hag’s arrival.
Now Manchester Evening News are claiming that he still left them with a hit-list of five targets to secure this summer – but United failed to capture any of them.
Rangnick allegedly told them to move for Erling Haaland, Christopher Nkunku, Konrad Laimer, Julian Alvarez and Josko Gvardiol.

And he reportedly told them that the latter was a “must buy”.
RB Leipzig and Croatia defender Gvardiol was seemingly his top priority while his team-mate Laimer was another of his recommendations.
He also allegedly told United to scout Leipzig striker Nkunku, who scored 35 goals in 52 appearances last season, but the French star has now penned a new long-term deal with the German outfit.
United knew that their hopes of signing hotshot Haaland were slim, and he is now starring for rivals City, but he still urged them to try and strike a deal with his £51m release clause becoming active over the summer.

Rangnick also reportedly brought Alvarez to United’s attention in January.
But they were pipped by City again, who swooped for the Argentinian from River Plate for £14m back in January.
Rangnick and Ten Hag are not believed to have met in person but allegedly held talks before the former’s departure.
Despite his recommendations, United moved for none of these targets over the summer window.
Instead they signed full-back Tyrell Malacia, free agent Christian Eriksen and centre-back Lisandro Martinez.
Meanwhile, Adrien Rabiot is expected to become Ten Hag’s fourth addition of the transfer window. More

But with three days to go until the start of the new LaLiga season, they are yet to be registered with the Spanish league.
It was claimed last month how the Blaugrana were unable to register the duo due to financial fair play restrictions.
And according to ESPN, they could now leave for free if they aren’t registered before Barca’s opener against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
They state that they may decide to execute a clause in their deals in Catalonia that will see their contracts ripped up.

It has also been said that fellow new arrivals Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Kounde are also yet to be registered.
But their situation is different as they were not snapped up on free transfers.
The news outlet has declared that while Christensen and Kessie have an option to leave, there is no suggestion it will come to that.
And if that looked to be a possibility, the club would speak to their team to avoid such an embarrassing outcome.

As well as Barca’s new arrivals, they also haven’t been able to register Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto after they penned new deals.
With Barca struggling for funds, they are hoping to offload Frenkie de Jong, despite the midfielder wanting to stay.
It has been claimed how Chelsea are closing in on a £67.6million agreement for the Holland international.
Manchester United are said to be refusing to give up hope of landing him with Erik ten Hag making the ex-Ajax ace his No1 target. More

Cristiano Ronaldo saga has damaged morale in Man Utd squad but fans should NOT let it tarnish legacy, says Louis Saha

CRISTIANO RONALDO’S desire to leave Manchester United has damaged the morale at Old Trafford. That is according to his former-team Louis Saha, who played alongside the 37-year-old during his first spell at the club between 2004-2008.

Ronaldo is keen to quit the Red Devils in his quest to play Champions League football this season.
He failed to join the United squad on their pre-season tour of Asia and Australia due to “family reasons”, before returning to face Rayo Vallecano earlier this month.
But he caused outrage after leaving ten minutes before the final whistle in the friendly clash – during which he was hooked at half-time.
Despite Anthony Martial nursing a minor injury, he was dropped to the bench for Sunday’s 2-1 defeat against Brighton where he came on in the second half.

Though he could be recalled back to the starting XI after boss Erik ten hag insisted United are better with him on the pitch.
Saha was critical of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner last month, but he has insisted he doesn’t want his legacy at the club to be tarnished.
Speaking exclusively to SunSport on behalf of TPP-ThePuntersPage about the transfer saga, the 48-year-old said: “I really don’t know with Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I made some comments a few weeks ago saying I was not happy by the fact he’s such a big player and such an example for youngsters.

“He can clearly see that the manager needs to make some strong decisions and I feel he went completely the opposite.
“If you try to bring discipline and he doesn’t want to do it or has different ideas, then it’s hard and I think he’s taken it in a personal way.
“The manager is trying to build a collective and a squad with a foundation and he’s being brought into the Cristiano Ronaldo saga every time he speaks.
“It’s not an easy situation and I would say that I was on Cristiano’s back a bit. The criticism was strong, if he finds a suiter, then ok you can go.
“But if not, then you have to come out and talk; if he wants to leave, he should say it but also say he’ll give his 100 per cent to the club if it doesn’t happen or until it happens.
“At least then the saga with Cristiano would be over at that point, but we haven’t seen this, so I was frustrated as a fan of Manchester United.
“I’m still a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, I love what he has done for the game, and I still admire his talent today because he’s still an amazing player.
“But at this moment in time, the talk of his future has been really bad in terms of trying to build a team collective.

“It doesn’t belong to the legacy of Cristiano Ronaldo because he doesn’t deserve it.
“For the fans, it’s a case of being a bigger fan of the club than it is being a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo which has to be the same for every player.” More

Sky claim United are yet to pack in their months-long pursuit of Barca star De Jong.
Former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag has had the playmaker at the top of his list since joining the Red Devils.
But De Jong has so far refused a move to Old Trafford due to United’s lack of Champions League football, plus his unpaid wages at Barcelona.
Chelsea are now thought to have agreed a £67.6million fee with the Spaniards.

And Todd Boehly’s side are even prepared to meet the cost of De Jong’s £14m deferred salary.

Man Utd ‘not shopping in Harrods any more’ with Arnautovic better choice than ‘hiding’ Jadon Sancho, says Agbonlahor

GABBY AGBONLAHOR has warned Manchester United fans they are “not shopping in Harrods any more”.And the former Aston Villa ace has questioned why many did not want to sign Marko Arnautovic.

Agbonlahor reckons Arnautovic is better than SanchoCredit: Getty
That’s because Agbonlahor reckons the ex-West Ham star is BETTER than £73million winger Jadon Sancho.
United stunned their own supporters by making a move for Bologna forward Arnautovic at the weekend.
The shock news came as Erik ten Hag’s side was beaten 2-1 by Brighton at Old Trafford in his first Prem game.
Bologna promptly rejected the bid, leading to United preparing a fresh move.

But the angry reaction from fans saw the Red Devils abandon the deal yesterday.
However, Agbonlahor does not understand why United fans are being so picky.
He feels the club will struggle to attract big players due to their on-field woes.
And Arnautovic is actually a good footballer who would add depth to their current squad.

Indeed, Agbonlahor is convinced Arnautovic would have made more of an impact than Sancho in the starting XI.
And supporters should instead be getting behind Ten Hag, who is also attempting to sign Adrien Rabiot from Juventus.
Agbonlahor declared: “I don’t know who Man United fans think they are. Arnautovic makes that squad a better squad.
“They’ve got to stop living in the Fergie years. Man United, now, are a club who can’t attract top players.
“There’s talk about looking to the future with younger players. They’ve done that with Sancho and he can’t take anyone on.
“He gets the ball, he passes it back to Dalot, he hides, he doesn’t get past people.
“Look at the wingers they’ve had in the past. Valencia – he used to go past people and put crosses in. Even Nani was outstanding. Sancho doesn’t do that.
“I’d rather Arnautovic in my team than Jadon Sancho at the moment.

“If he makes that team better for a season, get him in. It’s the manager’s choice, it doesn’t matter what the fans think.
“After he scores two goals, they’ll change their mind. They’re not shopping in Harrods anymore, they’re in a different place.” More
